Defenders that we need to buy

Its obvious to everyone that our back line is ageing and we do need young replacements for them. The names we have been linked with are alot, but the ones i can remember at the top of my head are Cicinho, Alex, Chivu, Felipe, Dellas, Oddo, Kompany and more..

Post all the rumours involving the defenders we intend to buy in the future.

Sheva-gila just made a post saying Cicinho might join Milan in January, but i highly doubt that as real have first option on him.

Alex, news in the past couple of days indicate that we are trying to get him for january, no confirmed reports yet..

Chivu, just rumours, same with Felipe

Dellas went to Greece, we can forget about him

Oddo we were linked with all summer but we failed to land him at the end..

Kompany we seem to have first-option on, but he wants to go to Chelsea.

A new rumour i just read ifrom calciomercato nvolves Sagnol and Cris!

it means that Cesare maldini is looking for replacements for Paolo, Stam, and Cafu. Confirmations on Cris of Lyon, and in Italy of Chivu and Felipe. In january there is the chance of the arrival of Alex, but Sagnol is the best option because he is svincolato (dunno what that means, maybe free?)

I always feel like Chivu has been destined to play for us, I know that sounds silly as there have only been speculative rumours but that's how it feels.

Gallas today stated that he was told by someone that 'wearing an AC Milan shirt indicates that you were successful'.. he also stated that he is tempted to leave Chelsea but he is not sure.. would be a good addition IMO, he's versatile, young compared to Maldini, Cafu, Stam? yes, but he is 28, he's got 5 or 6 years ahead of him tops.. We r looking for a long-term replacement for Paulo, i really think Kompany would be the best choice..

GALLAS

thats the way to go....... he's awesome.
but he's not going to be enough, chivu's good- but he and gallas cover the same spot. Kompany still seems young- if we could buy him and loan him to a smaller team for serie experience....
alex would be a good move too!!!!

You don't pay 10+ million euros to sign the most sought after defender in Europe just to send him on loan. He's played in the Champions League and at international level for a number of years. He's not going to learn anything playing for Reggina or Ascoli.

this attitude is beginning to set in at Chelsea, he's the 3rd player this season to be unhappy at being merely a small part in a bigger plan, it's going to be quite fun to watch this summer. Any big team expressing an interest in someone like Robben or Carvalho or who knows who else might find it more productive than you'd expect given the player is from the "richest" team in the world (of course they are not really the richest but they do seem to be the team prepared to throw the most money about).

If Barcelona for example stated Robben as an aim it would be quite interesting, Robben has said twice this season the squad rotation system is not for him. What would chelsea do if it's stars wanted out? just buy more?

Id love to see Kompany and Miguel from Valencia both come to Milan. Gallas is good, but if we are soon to lose probably the best leftback and rightback soon, then I want to see the next super defender Kompany coming not Gallas. Iv watched a little of Miguel this season and Im very impressed. Hes way better than Oddo who isnt good enough for us.

Don't underrate Gallas people. He's fast, good in the air, quick reflexes and a superb man-marker. Ideal combo with Nesta. It would be a massive transfer if he becomes a rossonero.

There is no issue here, some of them are playing at a big club for the first time in their careers and they're not used to sitting on the bench. It would be no different if they left Chelsea for Barca, Real Madrid, Juve or Milan. Gallas has said he wants to leave for some time. He's been in London for 5 years now so it shouldn't be a surprise.
