Milan scouts looking at Frederik Stromstad

Milan are tracking the progress of promising Norway international Fredrik Stromstad.

The midfielder currently plays for Start in his homeland but has dropped on to the radar of the Italian giants.

Cesare Maldini has run a personal check on the 23-year-old and has passed on his views to Milan.

But should Rossoneri coach Carlo Ancelotti follow up on Maldini's report, he could face competition from across the continent.

Anderlecht and AZ Alkmaar are also keen on Stromstad, although the player is trying to stay focused on his Start career.

"I haven't heard any club names mentioned," Stromstad told VG.

"I do have the ambition to go abroad. I am fully focused on Start and the national team."

When I read "young prospect" I thought we were talking 18 years old or less. But 23? Hmmmm....

Even tho at 23 years old he is not a prospect, he is already a prffesional.

next thing ud be asking for is a 5 year old to pair up with sheva in attack...

cant believe some of u find 23 'kinda old' ... whats difference dos it make to u if the guy is 23 or 18?? ... hes still a youngster on both occasions and if anything at23 he has more experience... not that im saying we should sign this guy... what i mean is that its stupid how desparate some people here sound for youth

I have seen Frederik Strømstad play a bit this season, and he's definitely a good player. Maybe not superstar material, but given time and experience in the Serie A, he could become a useful player for us.

The difference is that when you are 23 you are closer to reaching your potential than when you are 17. If you are 23 and you havent opened other people's eyes, something is wrong.....or you arent that gifted.

no buddy, its usually at 28-31 where a player reaches his potential... not at 23, in te old days, 23 used to be considered as young as 18 is today... 23 is still young, a player that age still has around 12 years ahead of him, and thats alot.

Fredrik Stromstad plays for my local team Start, he has been our most consistent and best player overall this season. Start was promoted to the highest level in Norway before this season, and are top-of-the-league with only 3 rounds left to play.

He is a fierce midfielder who runs a lot and he also has great skills. He is an Italy- and Milan-fan, and has always been.

He will make his full international debut later this evening against Belarus.

Although he would take some time to adapt to a big club like Milan, but then again most players would, I definitely think he is one-to-watch. Even Alberto Gilardino took some time to adapt...

Personally it would be great to see a player from my own town play for Milan.

The norwegian media also reports that Milan are interested in his fellow teammate Kristofer Haestad (I have posted about him in this forum earlier), another midfielder from Start and Norway. Apparently former Milan-player Per Bredesen reports directly to Cesare Maldini and the interest in the two players have been confirmed.

usually players reaches their career climax at 25 - 30... for instance to examples - Dinho Gaucho and our Sheva

23 is not so young as a teenager tough it is not so risky to buy him, cuz it is almost the age when a person is enough mature to show his real abilities

Forza Milan
