What does real madrid need?

We all know that real madrid is having a bad time!
No trophy since 2003!!! Its bad for a team like Real Madrid.

I always picture good teams when they are lifting trophies and celebrating, but as far as my memory goes I can hardly remmember RM lifting any thing

So a request please answer the poll.

Actually I think they need all 4 options you listed...

One year ago, looking at their squad and the arrival of Luxemburgo, I thought all they needed was a CB as good as Nesta, and a fighter in the midfield like Gattuso...

but now, they need many things... fortunadtely, Florenstein is gone...

So they need a new President (or to leave Martin as elected pres.), a new coach will arrive, hopefully Del Bosque... they need to start hiring good defenders... the best they have gotten is Cicinho, and he's more like midfielder-winger... they need to get rid of Helguera (never a good CB), Zidane (he will retire, not the same as 1998), Ronaldo (doesn't want to be there), Woodgate (Mr. Injuries) and a few PAVONES like Raul Bravo, Mejia...

Build the team around Casillas, Cicinho, Guti, Raul, Cassano, Robinho... give Soldado a chance...

they need consistency, and they need players who are hungry to win.. they also need a great tactician, and they need to fnd a world class defence before they look at their offence... a team is worth nothing without a good defence...look at werder bremen, u cant count on luck all the time, they have an amazing offence, but their defence can be broken down by 5 year olds!

they need to start hiring good defenders... the best they have gotten is Cicinho, and he's more like midfielder-winger...

They can get away with having an attacking right back like Cicinho as long as they have a left back capable of covering when he gets caught up the field. At the moment they have Carlos and he doesnt seem so interested in doing that anymore. If they get Woodgate fit he will sove a lot of their problems, the stats showing the difference he makes are impressive, the amount of cleansheets they have got with him in the team compared to how weak they are without him is clear. The only problem is he seems to go from one injury to another, something as frustrating for England as it is for them as he is truly world class at his peak.

In midfield they need to cut the ego's loose. Beckham, for all the criticism he attracts (usually from those who rarely if ever see real play) has been their best player for some time and leads la Liga on assists iirc. I still think Guti and Gravesen have plenty to offer too, but Zidane has been declining for sometime and great as his touch is a team at the top level cannot afford a passenger.

Up front its a real mess with behind the scenes politics often picking the team. its hard to condemn the realitively meagre contributions of Baptista and Robinho as they are so often peripheral. Raul and Ronaldo have been automatic choices for too long and it has left them less competitive and with diminished predatory instincts too. On their day they are still devastating but its unlikely wither will ever reach their top levels again.

So what do they need? If they keep the same tactics they need a solid left back, possibly Del Horno as Chelsea will sell him in the summer. If they cant guarentee Woodgates fitness they should target a similar style centre back, i'd go for Gallas or Ledley King. Genuine defensive cover in midfield (Diarra), a new left winger (Vicente?) someone to replace Ronaldo (as Sant says, he no longer cares) if they dont want to spend big they could use Baptista properly for this role, if they have money they should go for Adriano, who would be absolutely lethal with Beckham and Vicente supplying from wide and Robinho and Guti feeding from central

no, nothing. they need to keep like this. if juventus, barcelona, chelsea are all like them, it would be wonderful for milan.

Very simple
If you sell players like Morientes, Cambiasso, Samuel, Figo and Solari and keep thrash like Beckham, Guthi, Roberto Carlos and some other stupids then u shouldn't ask too much of not winning trophies in the presence of the likes of Milan, Juve, Inter, Barca, Chelsea, Lyon, Bayern etc
If they play my team they would start winning again

Real Madrid are ready to hand David Beckham the No7 shirt of captain Raul to convince the midfield ace to sign a new deal.

Becks' new contract could be worth a staggering £40 MILLION over just two years as the club are also willing to give up their 50 per cent split of his image rights.
