Did Juve shoot themselves in the foot concerning Ibra?

I seem to remember last season Ibrahimovic was being compared to Van Basten by Capello. Also he kept saying how he was their best player, and the summer purchase that won them the league.

I remember being totally confused by this, Ibra no doubt is a good player, amazing skills, especially considering how tall he is, strong and with good awareness. He defiently has a lot going for him but I don't think he's in the elite of european strikers, I think every big european team has at least one striker clearly better than him (Inter- Adriano, Milan - Shevchenko, Barca - Eto'o, Man U - RVN, Arsenal - Henry, even Juve have Trezeguet who I'd rate way above him) he's good, but I doubt he could ever be the focal point of the attack like the very best are.

Now of course though, he needs to sign a contract extension and he's demanding superstar wages because that's what his manager and supporters have told him he is. He's also got a lot of suitors because of all the press interest Capello and Co. kept drumming up. I think they've made a huge mistake, they've drummed a good player (with a serious discipline problem) into believing he is one of the best and possibly the future best. He's either going to want mega star wages or demand a transfer or hang on until his contract is expired. (then go to chelsea for a stupid amount a week)
