Dida in Rossoneri dispute?

Dida in Rossoneri dispute? --borrowed from channel4

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

There are reports that Dida has run into a contractual row with Milan, putting his future at the club in doubt.

The goalkeeper’s current deal expires in June 2007, but today there are claims in the Italian Press that he has hesitated in coming into the club office to discuss a renewal, preferring to discuss terms at the end of the season.

It’s said this attitude has irritated the Rossoneri, who have had to defend Dida’s form this year after a series of howlers.

If the contract is not extended soon, it’s likely Milan will opt to sell the Brazilian rather than risk losing him on a free transfer next summer.

They already have a replacement lined up, as Christian Abbiati returns from his loan spell at Juventus, where he impressed during Gianluigi Buffon’s injury lay-off.

There have also been reports this week that the Rossoneri are trying to prise Buffon away from Turin, but his agent and Milan vice-President Adriano Galliani have laughed off these rumours.

Nonetheless, with Dida looking particularly shaky between the sticks all season, his future at San Siro is far from secure.

The 32-year-old had a patchy start to his Italian career, joining Milan from Corinthians in 2000-01 and making only a handful of disappointing appearances – including a costly slip in the 1-0 Champions League defeat at Leeds United – before returning to the Brazilian club on loan.

He had become the undisputed Number 1 at Milan upon his return in 2002, proving decisive in the 2003 Champions League Final win over Juventus, but has stuttered this term.

All this would indicate some grain of truth behind him leaving. However, i think it's more likely he just wants to wait until the season is 100% finished before thinking about any deals. Which i think is fair enough.

Dida is a great keeper, but if him leaving means us getting Buffon then... Why not?

We might get Buffon Anyway because he wont play in serie B if Juve are sent down. he wud easily 'jump a sinking ship'. but what would happen to Dida then?

I Think dida is getting old too ... he is 33 years old i think so its time milan got a new keeper Kalac is old too and fiori ... the new man coppola is 28 so he wouldnt be that bad but i think milan should go for Buffon or sebastien frey ...

goalkeepers tend to be like defenders and peak at an older age. In Dida's case, he was at his very best about the time he turned 30 and has kept up that form for a few years.

This also explains why keepers like Peruzzi and Pagliuca were capable of being two of the best keepers in Italy over the past couple seasons despite being quite old.

Dida is now the smallest of our concerns.

It is better if Galliani couldoffer Dida to Chelsea to get some more cash to buy top players??
In anyway Abbiati would be back from Juve and he has proven himself to be as good as Dida...if not..how can Juve won so many games (considering that not every game being fixed by Moggi )

If Chelsea doesn't want him..then offer him to Inter....

Thats the point, i mean Abbiati can be used to get Buffon, and if dida goes we can cash in from him.... Dont sell him to chelsea, best bet for us would be if he went back to Brazil... Buffon-coppola- Kalac thats fine!

I just think of Chelsea who can pay much money to Milan..or use him to exchange with Gallas ??
Having Gallas in one of the defender then we don't really need a super goalkeeper...
Moreover..I don't like the way Dida behave by doesn't want to talk about his contract extension with Milan till today..isn't this a sign that he doesn't want to stay any longer with Milan??

To me it is very clear that if a player doesn't have his heart with the club where he play then it's better not having him in the squad....One thing that is very obvious about Dida is when he's out of form he makes too many basic mistakes like in the dead ball situation.
