Milan to monitor Torres

from channel 4

i would prefer Torres over Henry, Torres is one for the future, and would be great with Kaka and Gilardino...
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Milan are reportedly pondering a summer move for Fernando Torres after his agent opened the door for an Atletico Madrid exit.

The talented youngster, known as El Nino in his homeland, has been linked with a switch for some time and he’s edging closer to a big money move.

“There was a strong argument why Fernando needed to stay at Atletico last summer and that is this summer’s World Cup,” Jose Martin Otin is quoted as saying.

“Had he gone to Chelsea, for example, he could have risked his squad place given that he may not have played regularly.

“But what reason is there to stay now? There is none.”

The technically gifted attacker is on a number of clubs’ wish lists given his incredible potential on the biggest stage.

Milan have been watching the starlet for years and are known to have excellent relations with Atletico Madrid.

However, Torres also has admirers in England with Chelsea and Manchester United paired with the international.

Chelsea would have no problem meeting Atletico Madrid’s valuation, while the Old Trafford outfit could offer Ruud Van Nistelrooy in a swap deal.

During the last couple of days we've been linked with Henry, Eto'o, Torres and Van Nistelrooy. And everybody knows that we need to strengthen our defence...

totally agree, and the reason I can't understand all these rumours. That whole Gattuso-Ruud rumour just made no sense at all

Personally, i think we do need a new striker ... however, we all know the defence is the priority. Maybe funds/deals for defenders are already sorted out, who knows ... all we know is that we are Milan and we'll always be linked with the top tier of players.

I wouldn't mind a new striker but only after the defence and midfield have already been sorted out. As for Torres, I can't stop thinking that he would be one major waste of money ... just don't see this guy having anything but nightmares playing in Serie A.

We should have gotten Torres instead of Gilardino...he is more explosive, fast, tougher, and creative...

I agree, Torres doesn't score enough goals. But maybe he would score more for Milan than for Atletico Madrid, as he would have had much better team-mates...

that's true, especially when most of our goals come from only 4 players - kaka, Sheva, Pippo, Gila. Torres in an excellent year for him can't score what Gila does in a so-so year. I persoanlly would expect gila to be much better and composed in his second season with us.

Gila had a combination of BAD LUCK and LACK OF AIM... and with Pippo at top form he had to watch a few games from the game... still he's one of the players with more minutes played this season... and scored 17 goals...

with a little Tune Up, he could be back to 20+ goals next season...

Gila hasn't actually had a bad season. He's only two goals behind Sheva in the league, and could catch up with the Ukranian if he has a good game against Roma.

1. Torres ,as he is palying right now, cant compete in serie a.
2. Carlo cant develop Gilardino as Gile needs to develop. gila is suffering form bad coaching and lack of self belief.he is 5 times torres.
3. off topic.........If I see Sheva in Chelsea shirt I'll cry....

Err.. Ancelotti can't turn Gila into a world class player? Are we talking about the same Ancelotti who made Pirlo into the best defensive playmaker in the world?

i agree wid u but to get a young spaniard into italy and make him survive against teams like inter and messina and make him score goals and last but not least, make him mentally tough!....aaaa......looks to me that its beyond carlo's league. I see his talent limited upto italians only. is pirlo really the best defensive playmaker? have not hard that kind if accolade of him. maybbe coz all midfield playmakers are attacking.
