Yes he playes for Mainz

Mohamed Zidan (born December 11, 1981 in Port Said) is an Egyptian footballer.

His career started as a striker for El Masry Port Said, and in 1999 he moved to Denmark and Akademisk Boldklub. In 2003 he moved to the bigger club FC Midtjylland, becoming league top scorer and Player of the Year the following season. In the winter break of the 2004/05 season he was bought by SV Werder Bremen, and scored in his first two appearances. Ahead of the 2005/06 season he was loaned to FSV Mainz 05. On April 22, 2006 he scored a wonderful goal against Bayern Munich.

Zidan has 4 caps for the Egyptian national team.

He drew much criticism from fans and officials alike when he chose not to represent Egypt in the 2006 African Cup Of Nations, partly because he felt he would lose his starting spot with FSV Mainz 05 and because he felt the Egyptian team had no chance in winning the cup. Ironicaly, Egypt went on to win the tournement by defeating the Cote D'Ivoire 4-2 in penalties.

Zidan is the best egyptian player atm IMO.. i was lucky enough to even meet him and see him play infront of me.. he came on for 5 minutes and caused havoc for Kuwait's defence and scored a goal and assisted the other.. he is a really really good player..

karimi and zidan are the best asian players at the moment..both are better than mido..ppl need to take a closer look at them, they are certainly not over-rated

im going to be honest, i havent seen alot of zidan so i cant comment, but from the stuff ive seen which again is very little he seems to be a ball hog and not a team player, too much going for the glory for him, id rather have a player like karimi in my team, hes very good, I also like abu treika and abdul wahab and many tunisian players, theres a young iranian prospect by the name of neukonam or something liek that, anyone have a clue about him?
