Idea Cassano

Today's reports are saying that Milan are interested in signing the Bari talent Antonio Cassano which at the moment comes from a difficult season with Roma and Real Madrid. It is said that Cassano is not happy at Real becasuse he's not respected there and this with the new Presidential election can lead Cassano to Milan which are in search of a stiker that subsitute Shevchenko. Another advantage for Milan is that Cassano is 23 years and that his transfer would not cost a lot.
It seems that the only obstacle for this move would be the move of Fabio Capello from Juventus to Real. Capello would be the one of the few motives for Cassano to remain in Spain.

I would take Cassano instantly, he's young, italian and very talented. With Milan lab he'll return to full fitness within November 2006 and I think that with us his character will arrange.... a bit.

If the price was right, he would be a good purchase.

Would he be the only striker we would get ? If we got Cassano, would there be a need for anyone else ? I'm thinking of Suazo. Maybe we could get both, but would that be too much ?

It's always best to be cautious when dealing with Madrid, they are very good at getting the better end of deals.

Maybe we could ask about Baptista too !

I would rather have four quality strikers whom we could rotate rather then three really good ones and a fourth one who is eeeeeh . . so give me a young cassano, a young suazo, and young gila, with an older pippo, being tailed by a young kaka and that is one damn good attack . . with a lot of speed!

I don't want Cassano at Milan... because of his character... regardless of his talent.

if we are willing to take a bad character guy, why not go for a better talent like ibra. i don't like cassano at all.

agree ibra can score and his skill are almost the same as cassano if not better.

it would be very intresting for us to get cassano. cuz milan is like the group huging type, wonder if his personality will change. he could be a great star.

I definitely wouldn't mind seeing Cassano in Milan. He is young and talented. I just heard things about him not being well-liked by his coaches and teammates and stuff. No idea whether its true or not, but no denying his skill level

Cassano to be Sheva heir?

Milan have decided that Antonio Cassano would be the perfect replacement for Andriy Shevchenko, claim reports today.

A host of names have hit the headlines as potential transfers after the Ukrainian’s £30m move to Chelsea, including Didier Drogba, Samuel Eto’o, Hernan Crespo and Ruud Van Nistelrooy.

The latest addition is former Roma prodigy Cassano, whose career has hit problems over the past year.

He was signed from Bari for £20m in 2001 and left the Giallorossi in January of 2005 after six months on the sidelines for refusing to sign a contract extension.

However, his time at Real Madrid has been disappointing, as problems with his weight and form have seen the ‘Genio di Bari Vecchia’ barely step on to the Spanish turf.

Now there are claims the starlet, who will turn 24 next month, is set for a Serie A comeback at San Siro to partner Alberto Gilardino.

The only major stumbling block, suggest the newspapers, is the possible arrival on the Real bench of Fabio Capello.

Cassano has never hidden his desire to work with ‘Don Fabio’ again after their spell together at Roma and would relish the opportunity to prove himself in La Liga under his guidance.

Another issue is the increasingly fraught relationship between Milan and Real Madrid after Presidential candidate Ramon Calderon claimed he would sign Kaka if elected.

The Rossoneri were infuriated and repeatedly threatened to report him to FIFA if he attempted to contact the Brazilian, who is under contract.

why do we keep openning threads when other threads are already talking about this?

Cassano is definately a great player, but I am just worried that he does not score enough goals. And maybe he is more of a playmaker type...

That's the way I think too, he's more a playmaking forward.

Definitely more of a playmaking forward. But he would give us some versatility. Similar to Kaka in certain ways. I'd take a chance on him. He's incredibly talented.
