A serious point

I guess one very important thing must also be pointed out: we're talking only about the replacement of departed pieces, not about really reinforcing the side. Let's see:

Stamn - Bonera: ok, replacement did.

Rui Costa - Gourcuff: ok, replacement did.

Shevchenko - ... Borrielo?!?: replacement NOT DID.

And even if we manage to replace Schevchenko with a great striker (something tha unfortunately I'm not believing anymore...), we won't have a reinforced side, as we have only replaced departed players... so we will continue with a tremendously old squad, and with very little squad depth... what in fact could be fixed only if we get, besides a replacement for Shevchenko, at least a new all around midfielder and a new attacking RB... well, is there any signs that we are at least trying to do that? Oh, what a wonderful season is waiting for us...

Well, It's official. Inter agreed 18million for Ibrahimovic. There we go again. I honestly believe we would net Ibra, but what was I smoking There wen't our last chance for a striker. If only I started a list of the players we missed out on

Today is the 10th of August. What day does the transfer deadline close?

Especialy this is the most important point. This squad ist playing all along, there is barely fresh blood, barely new players with strong ambitions winning of winning all possible titles.

I guess we have only 20 days, counting saturdays and sundays...

Exactly, my friend... we're not behaving as the godlike football side we are.

Twenty days is an eternity in the transfer market. The vast majority of transfers are conducted in August. There is plenty of time. Everyone should just relax.

I would love to be so positive like you, Rick, but I simply can't see a bright outcome... you see, we're moving slow, not reacting with a sharp frame of mind to the realities and demands of a manic, frantic calciomercato.

Well, both Nesta and Gilardino (our latest big-name signings) came late, so there's still hope!

But, I think that we need to start thinking about replacing our ancient defense and not only fill the void left by players who left. Bonera for Stam is fine, but Cafu, Custacurta and Maldini are close to 40 and I'm not sure I wan't our backup players in the starting eleven.

Well, the thing is that, Berlu better acts quickly, or else it will be a panic buy, like the Redondo incident.

Players who are still available:

Buffon, Oddo, Baraghi, Diarra, Tevez, can anyone add more, and pls no Torres, as I read somewhere that he wanted to stay

Of course, of course! We replaced Stam with Bonera, a fine move, but that's not enough, we still need to seriously reshape our retaguard, to go on Cafu, Costacurta, Maldini or Simic as starters is suicide! And what about Seedorf? He's not playing well since a long time ago... ok, from time to time he scores a beautiful goal, but he's not performing with enough regularity and consistence! We're in bad need of a player like Diarra, tha would allow Ancelotti to free Pirlo from marking concerns.

I guess we can go on with Dida, he's still a very good keeper... so let's go for Oddo/Miguel, Gallas/Barzagli, Diarra and Tevez/Torres/Suazo, we need to move on!

You forgot Cafu, the former player who started his career here in SPFC and played three seasons for us.
