AC Milan v.s. Atletico Madrid

tomorrow night we have a game against them, looking forward to it... anyone know if any channels are showing it?

this should be a great chance for us to see Torres in action.

Actually, I think the most interesting part of the whole evening will be what happens a little before or a little after the games when the managers of Milan and Atletico get together for a nice talk
But i would surely like to see the game

They'll probably go to some taverna ... have a bit of tapas and some sangria ... then maybe go to a tango/salsa dance club ... ole

Don't forget that if we win we will be playing on the Sunday too against Deportivo or Nacional Montevideo.

Lets also hope there won't be too many shouts of Torres is rubbish if he doesn't play amazingly well in one of his first pre season games

Agree!

AS (this time I hope is true) is actually saying that Torres has agreed to renew but haven't put anything pen to paper!

I wish Nesta and Kaladze would go with Milan tonight, so I can see more clearly what Torres can do <only seen a few Atletico match with small club in La Liga>.

When will the match kick off? 22h or 21h <GMT>

well, if he can't do anything to our 2nd string of defenders then i don't think i would be interested to see what would he do to our 1st eleven.

That suggests you are saying that if he doesn't play amazingly well in one of his first games back you don't think he's good enough for us ?

If that is what you're implying then that is some twisted and misguided logic.

to an extent I agree with the above, Jim, meaning that one can't expect to see Torres at his absolute best at this point in time. However, we shouldn't go too easy on him and treat him as if he hasn't touched a ball in 10 years or something like that. La Primera starts in about 2 weeks - August 27th - Atletico and Torres must already be at a considerable level of preparation. Furthermore, Milan players vs CZ showed that when you have it, you have it even when you are not in top physical shape and can't play quick football for a full 90-min game. And they did that in anemergency situation where we had to play agame that was not in our schedule to begin with and many of them with only a couple of weeks of training under the belt - not sure if it was even that much.
So, hwmook does have point as well, IMO, because if Torres doesn't show something special against the likes of Simic, Billy, Favalli, etc, I am not sure how we could expect miracles from him against Serie A difenses and especially CL difenders, a competition, may I add, he is yet to feature let alone prove himself in. And also we should keep in mind that while Torres may not be at 100%, the same in an even stronger sense goes for the back-up Milan defenders.
I guess, now is the time for me to say that I would rather not see Milan go for Torres - no matter how he performs today or tomorrow - as I believe he is not suitable for Italian football. A better option for me, when it comes to spending a lot of money, would be Tevez.
