I am glad to see that the team of warriors (Croatia) not only defeated England but also embaraced them and reminded them that they are not a quality side and if it wasn't for their strong media (Sky Sports etc) nobody would have known England.

hahahahaha!!!! I enjoyed every moment of this NEW ENGLISH EMBARASSMENT!! One of the commentators is Igor Štimac who played for West Ham and in the replay when he sees the miss-kick again he said : " nice, nice..." And then the whole stadium was going : Gary! Gary! To Gary Neville for scoring for Craotia. So, as years go by, England failes.... But im sure if few days they will again assure themselves they are top 3 football nations in the world. we must be pretty good if every time we lose you have to dedicate a thread to it MZK, do you know how many teams have won in Croatia? None. Ever! not Brazil, Argentina, Italy (who lost at home to them only 2 months ago) or anyone else! which makes just about every national side on the planet as bad as England by your logic.

This was always going to be our hardest game and it still took a total fluke to kill us off, well that and a goal from the usual rent-a-brazilian that seems to happen increasingly these days

Anyway, the commentators here were actually congratulating Gary Neville as before the game he was saying he's never scored in an England shirt

Funny you should say as i watched the U-21s on Tuesday. Walcott is still only 17 but it only took him 10 minutes to destroy Germany funny too how you think Rooney is finished at 20 years of age you really are clueless mate.

normally i wouldnt agree with mzk but this time i would ... I WAS really happy to see england lose ... no offense steza

I actually put 80% of the blame for the goal on the ref. of the game and 20% on Neville who should not have back-passed between the posts.

I remember I used to see much more often when the refs were checking the paint lines and spots on the pitch before the game. Maybe it was then ... and there ... weher the quality of the football pitches was not great.
But you can say the same thing about Zagreb's pitch. The ref. and the football stadium officials should be ashamed for the quality of "this painting".
The divot was there and noone saw it. The ref. should have checked the lines before the games and fixed the problem.

I actually do no like and do not support England (or other British national teams), but I think Robinson played well and should not be blamed AT ALL.
Zagreb ought to be ashamed for this goal. Good win anyway, but it would be much much "cleaner" with 1-0.

I dont think the ref could have stopped it mate, the lump was made by Pletikosa in the first half to launch his goal kicks. Its just a fluke event, i remember one Collymore scored a few years ago when the keeper knelt down to pick up a rolling ball and it bounced right over him

@ mzk57... the Lampard you praised so much was playin' one of the worst games ever... totally ineffective considerin' that he had no defensive job with Parker cleanin' up his mistakes & Carrick supplyin' the passes from deep... he was given the limelight & the task of shinin' in the absence of Gerrard... yet all he did was made a mockery of himself...

no you are not pretty good, you are just too arogant without reason so your loses are quite an amusement to the rest of the world. Even 4 time world champions Italy never act like England, underestimating every single opponent and acting like they are the reason people watch football.

yes true, only England ever underestimates the opposition You mention Italy, did you complain about them sending out a reserve side to face you a few months ago?

The fact is Maclaren said from the start this was the hardest tie and he actually changed his tactics to a defensive 5-3-2, sending out 5 defenders and 2 defensive minded midfielders (Carrick and Parker) Does this sound like we underestimated you? if anything we were TOO cautious, we only had 3 attacking players on the pitch!
