Nike launching a new line dedicated to Italy's heroes in Berlin.

8 Azzurri Players
Pirlo, Cannavaro, Materazzi, Zaccardo, Gattuso, Zambrotta, Gilardino, Iaquinta

Content and audio is quite interesting and creative. Pretty cool!

It is cool, but Zaccardo, Iaquinta, and Gila are there while Buffon and Grosso aren't? Makes no sense.

hitmannq8 · 26-10-2006, 01:59

They're probably not sponsored by nike

Lolz it's quite obvious that they are sponsored by Nike! Anyway, this is advertising, not some sort of FIFA recognition. I did ask myself why these players and they probably wore Nike shoes during the World Cup. I don’t usually look at what shoes they wear but all those Cannavaro tackles and Pirlo corners, I recall them wearing something with a huge check. Plus Grosso I think is with Asics and other players are probably with Adidas like Del Piero.

They even tied the players to things prominent in Italy – pasta, wine, motorcycles, etc. Also, notice the sneakiness to the French as they call it “Produit en Italie”? Even Materazzi has a slogan: : "Solidità mondiale testata a prova di testate" --> "Proven, world-class strength, headbutt-proof."

buffon = puma
grosso = reebok

Vadim · 26-10-2006, 13:46

Yeah, I hadn't thought of that. Pretty obvious now

For some reason I thought Buffon was Nike.

SANT · 26-10-2006, 14:50

maybe because you see Buffon = Juventus... Juventus = Nike

but the shoes are often from different sponsor...

Graeme C · 26-10-2006, 16:20

Yeah I definitely wouldn't mind having one of those. Some have a vintage look in it. I think the Nike products don't come out till mid-November.
