Dida

I have grown sick of Calamity Dida.

He has hurt us with some terrible blunders and we have shown him faith. He hurt us with some more blunders and we showed him more faith by offering him contract extensions. He still continues to hurt us with more bad performances and still has the cheek to not sign an extension.

My question is it time to replace him for someone who will appreciate not being dumped as Juve or Inter would do without question. Personally Im ready to see Amelia in a Milan jersey.

The risk of getting a new keeper is too much. The time the new keeper will take to settle in will be too much. I will stick with Dida for as long as he wants to stay with us, even 5 years or may be forever to take over the role of Fiori once he retires.

He has still got it he does pull of great saves in most match but after tonight with buffon in the net we may have got some points tonight but imo only buffon is a better keeper in the world at this moment

Im not sure how you can call Dida the second best keeper in the world. He has been performing poorly for some time now.

there is only one keeper out there for whom I would let Dida go - Buffon. Even Amelia has still a lot to learn and if we bring him in the 1st team immediately, I think we would witness a lot of episodes where Dida would be sorely missed.
IMO, it would be best to get Amelia and keep him for a year as Dida's understudy and only then introduce Amelia as our first keeper when Dida would be 35 yo or so.

enough already.. i'm sorry but why does everyone keep complaining about Dida, yeah i admit that today wasn't a great day for him, but other than that he's been perfect all season.. people are quick to critisize him but what about the defense, all four goals came as a result of poor defending, yet you immediatly open a thread about replacing Dida.. nesta has had some terrible games this season, why don't you open a thread about replacing him as well? and then there's kaladze too.. the whole defense is weak lately, and i'm sure if the managment brings some younger blood into the defence, Dida would have less trouble preventing goals. i agree with Zlatnov, the only goalkeeper i'd agree to replace Dida with would be Buffon, other than that i can't see any other adequate replacment...

Don't you DARE blame this loss on just him. We all got our asses cored today.

Just how many "bad" performances has he had this season?

Sorry, I'm a little overemotional right now...I'm just embarrassed by today's game and maybe later I'll calm down. But to start a thread like this is ridiculous.

Dida was the least to blame for any goals conceded... if to be blamed at all...

K77SH C... you defended Gilardino... he had only 1 good game to date... yet you are here askin' to replace a player that was brilliant since the start of the season...

I agree with BMW. It would make a lot more sense to start this thread sometime last year, when he was atrocious. IMO he has regained his 03 form. None of the goals today were his fault.

Tonight's debacle was more Nesta's mistakes, as well as bad luck. Dida has been fine this season. And I totally agree with Zlat, the only one that can make me give up on Dida is Buffon. Not even Amelia.

Dida makes stupid mistakes, he occasionally loses the grip of the ball and can't hold on to it. He lost his quickness in recovering and it seems the goal is getting too wide for a goalie of his height. It's time to replace him with a younger keeper. I WISH we had Buffon...

Nelson has incredible reflexes, especially with shots that seems unstoppable/impossible, it's the easy ones that seem to trouble him more than not, plus his habit of slapping the ball away allowing for an easy rebound shot. That said, I would only replace Dida for Gigi, and only if we didn't have sell the farm, so to speak, to get him. I have a confidence with Dida in goal that I never felt with, say, Chris and haven't felt since Seba, regardless of todays or any other days result.

Let's not get Gilardino in this thread, otherwise it'll turn out to be yet another one concentrating on him.

Dida --- no problem.

He has been far from perfect this season as some would suggest and has been concerning me for a while now. Hes probably the best shot stopper in the game, but he is terrible on crosses and is having far too many bad patches of form for a GK.
