Grade Gila vs Roma

Come on in...
i think the only way to settle the Gila arguement is to grade each performance on the scale below...
i say for the sake of sanity, this thread (in this nice forum), that we all start "a fresh" on gila and dont use any history (good or bad) as an influence.

Catagory A) finishing / scoring 1-50pts
Catagory B) Passing 1-20pts (includes assists and crosses)
Catagory C) off the ball mv't / defending 1-15 pts
Catagory D) heart / effort / fitness 1-15pts (the gattusso factor)

that totals 100 pts per game.

over the next couple games i hope some of you will watch him a little more intently, and give him an objective grade...
if not i will and depending on how he does, the pro or anti gila camps can flame away.
i honestly think this will help those of us that disagree on his performance, see where our differences lie.

i now hope that he plays...

it will be interesting to see how this goes ... i'm glad you went ahead with it. Though the only people who can be truly objective are the neutrals, but lets see what happens

will only be interesting if you compare him with another striker in the team, and then also with other players in the team.

f you compare him with other strikers/players, it becomes subjective.

Just watch gila and see how he plays. if he makes some nice passes give him 15pts, if all his passes are crap, give him 5 pts.
if he pikes the ball from the 6yrd line = low pts on finishing.

if hes on the field and never touches the ball.... then....well...i think you know the answer to that question...

this is meant to be an independent study. yes other players can help him look better by giving him good passes, but he still has to put himself in the right place to receive the pass...

You won't get subjective judgment because you compare him with other strikers, if your rating is fair, which I agree so. You rate Inzaghi / Oliveria in the same way you rate Gilardino, then you comment. Gila getting a 10/100 doesn't necessarily mean that he is bad. What if Inzaghi got 10/100 as well, and so does Pirlo, Maldini, Dida?

Sorry but if his passes are no good, why give 5 pts? Should he not recieve 0 pts? Or are we judging his passing game on an overall basis?

I'll do this now before the game.
Scoring-30pts (he better score!)
Passing-03pts
Offtheball-5pts
HeartnSoul-15pts

Total- 53 pts out of a possible 100pts

But what happen if he's invisible through out? He'd done it before. Seriously, I hope he did well. I think the last time a striker create this much commotion is errr... Pippo? I'll go back to Ollie Bierhoff. :p

It's created by only 3 guys, as far as I can remember.

So who's first with their objective and realistic scoring for Gilardino's performance?

Catagory A) finishing / scoring 1-50pts
Catagory B) Passing 1-20pts (includes assists and crosses)
Catagory C) off the ball mv't / defending 1-15 pts
Catagory D) heart / effort / fitness 1-15pts (the gattusso factor)

Gila's finishing was not good but he did have 1 attempt. I'll give him a 3/50
Passing was bad, he managed a couple of good passes though so i'll give him a 5/20
Off the ball mvt was bad, he was never in position and was always invisible. He never defends anyway. If he ever received the ball he went for a dive (he should get negative points even!) 0/15
Heart? lol. I didnt see him running his heart out trying to win. As soon as Pippo came on, you started seeing him everywhere. 0/15

So my honest rating, is 8/100. Please show me where I went wrong if anyone thinks im harsh on him.
