About spam, the forums and you!!

I came here early this morning and spotted 2 spam threads. One of them had a reply from a member saying something like "enough spam already."

I have explain why this annoys me just enough to make me post a topic about it. Members here have no idea how much spam we mods and admins catch before any of you even notice it. We're human, we do our best, we just can't be here 24/7. The occasional spam topic may slip thru and show up on the forum for a couple hours. Trust me, 100's of spam posts are deleted and you do not see them, so I see little or no need to post replies in the ones that do manage to slip in here from time to time! Just leave them alone, they'll be found, deleted and the poster banned!

Hi, Debs.
I replied today.
I wasn't angry at the mods, but to those, who dare to post BS like this, and even it wasn't in English...
I thought I've seen that user to do it before and I was surprised that he wasn't banned...
May be I was wrong, that guy should be a new spammer...

OK, I will not reply anymore in threads like this and will wait mods to do their job.

yeah i have also replied before but not having a go at the mods, the mods here do a superb job

But why is it only Milanmania that seems to get spammed other forums with less members on dont get any maybe the spammers know who is the best in europe

Who knows why we get so many spammers, I can ask Rez if he has any theories. Mine is that since we come up pretty high on the list when you do a search for Ac Milan forums, it has something to do with the bots that search sites....beyond that....no clue!

Only time we may need help spotting spammers is if they hide their posts within an already existing topic. I know what I do when I come here is check the newest member line at the very bottom and I'll check to see if they've posted and what it is. You'd be amazed at how many spammers I catch that way!!

By the way, my topic here isn't to take it out on anyone, just to remind members we're onto spam as quickly as we can!
