Ronaldo´s current "injury" issue
A slow news day to be sure, resulted in this article, and this one, as well as this one.
Now, I was under the impression that milanlab was the best in the business...could I have been horribly mistaken? ...could it be that Brazil is really on the cutting edge of technology and medical acumen with regard to these injuries?Or is it, as I indicated at the beginning...much ado about nothing? Time will tell....I for one think that he just wanted a second opinion, but these comments: Quote:
Does anyone have more on this?

Yeah, I saw about that, bit confusing this situation. Goal.com has a similar article up now, but a Brazilian doctor says hes's 2 weeks away.

MilanLab is the best around, still no harm in getting a second opinion.

Maybe Milan lab is wrong, but they can't be right all the time. Blasting a professional from the same field is either fictitious or horrendous.

Wow, Ronaldo going to Brazil just for a second opinion shows what he actually thinks of MilanLab. He doesn't believe in them, and that for sure is not good at all for our image. Players in the future would rather not get treated there then and would always go for other places first. I really am curious to see how this story develops. His injury is indeed very very strange.

I really doubt many people are taking Whimanaldo that seriously anymore - Prof. Martens is one of the most respected in his profession in Europe and all the best players of the continent go to see him, yet R9 disregards his evaluation of the situation too as he agreed with MilanLab's diagnosis
... and with MilanLab on track of making a player out of him again as opposed to him being the laughing stock of Europe, I'd say it would have its fair share of fans no matter how this latest whim of his ends .My guess is those Brazilian doctors are just playing by Ronaldo's tunes and tell him what would sound like balsam to his ears so that he keeps ringing on their door - when the customer's happy, everyone's happy ![]()

Ronaldo is a moron. A petulant moron.
Great player on the pitch but petulant and headstrong off it. Not surprised really. |

those two weeks mentioned in the goal.com article sound to me more like an estimate by the author and not something the doctors said ... either way, I think the timeframe to get him cured stays pretty much the same, as previously administered by MilanLab ... the reason for going to Brazil seems to be that R9 did not believe MilanLab would have cured him in that initially foreseen time-window ...
From what it seems, his this injury of his is nothing too serious but just a niggling muscle strain I am pretty sure they would end up giving him the same treatment, only under a slightly different, more difficult to pronounce name, so in the end he gets healthy in the same timeframe MilanLab would have cured him and Ronaldo would think he got a completely different treatment - thus the wolf gets to eat and the lamb stays whole ![]()

None of which changes the talk that it was going to be a risk signing him, I for one never believed he will be available for more than 50% of our games, anything more than that is a bonus IMHO. We can go back to the risks we are taking by most of our signings but thats been done

What worries me the most is the following (taken from the Channel 4 Article)
It is reported he found a lesion on Ronaldo’s knee and ordered a two-week break from football. “We will apply a treatment we call Growth Factor,” revealed Runco in ‘O Globo.’ “He should stay in Rio for at least a week.” Ronaldo’s personal physiotherapist Bruno Mazziotti is also in Brazil with the Milan striker. This is a tough blow, particularly with the Champions League about to kick off with the Group D opener against Benfica on September 18. Ronaldo is now likely to miss out on the Serie A meetings with Siena, Parma and possibly the trip to Palermo on the weekend of September 26. As Alexandre Pato cannot compete in official tournaments until January 2008, this just leaves Pippo Inzaghi, Alberto Gilardino and youth team player Willy Aubameyang. _______ Not looking good. |

i think the whole episode of him disagreeing with Martins and Milan lab, then going to Brazil is very disrespectful towards us. Look at what milan have done for him, bringing him out of Madrid and bringing his career back. Bit of a slap in the face really.
Kinda proves the point that we should have signed another striker that could have played until pato breaks into the side.

I am quite surprised by the news altogether. Even if the Milan LAb do make a mistake, those Brazilian doctor does not have to declare to the whole world.
I hope to hear from the Milan side regarding these.

In 10 years you make a mistake, eveoryone does... Im not so sure Ronaldo can leave Milanello just becouse he is angry, its not a free will decision. Besides, Milan's doctor is going with him.
Ronaldo never said anything against MilanLab, only the idiotic doctor from Brazil did. But people, dont act surprised becouse of Ronaldo's injury problems, his knees and miscles are waay from ready for non-stop football, we all knew that. Only Galliani and Berlu were talking about super Ronaldo and bla,bla... We'll see, but one thing is certain - we are, as european champions, not adequatly preparet up front...
