You have Pirlo there but you don't have Zinedine Zidane, Ruud Gullit, Michel Platini, Gianni Rivera ?
Cafu In front oF Zanetti ?
You have Nesta but no Scirea, Bergomi, Ferrara, Facchetti ?

Starting from 1960's , this would be my team :

Zoff
Zanetti, Baresi, Faccheti, Maldini
Platini-Baggio-Zidane-Maradona-Rivera
( don't mind their position. Only count them as midfielders)
Van Basten

Substitites : Buffon, Scirea, Bergomi,Ferrara, Totti, Rijkaard, Gullit, Batistuta, Riva

Wow, with midfielders like this you can score many goals . . . and conceded many too

I think everyone is missing Graeme's point.

In the Premier League All-Stars tournament a number of PL teams put in squads made up of ex-players, fans and celebrities. The winner got £50,000 for the charity of their choice.

Oh and it was an indoor tournament (6 or 7 a side) on carpet, had sin bins (the ref would issue a blue card and send them to cool off ) and a powerplay period when any goal scored in the final minute counted for 2.

So you wouldn't really have MVB & Maradonna up front as the latter obviously played for Napoli. I think most of it was by invitation only so you couldn't really pick the teams.

Rico, your post is in the wrong thread. Try reading the other posts in this thread first!

Graeme, i would give up. No one here seems to be able to grasp the concept of what you're saying!

I'll do my best to be ULTRA clear on what Graeme is trying to talk about.

So far everyone here has posted their Fantasy Serie A line ups, with players from lots of different Serie A teams. For example, Baresi & Maldini from Milan and Maradona from Napoli.

Clear so far?

Ok, this is not what this thread is about.

Here in England on tv, there was a recent 7-a-side football tournament where a number of Premier League teams took part. Each of these teams were made up of players who have now retired, celebrities who support each team and fans of each team.

Still clear?

For example, playing for Chelsea was Peter Bonetti, Roberto Di Matteo & Ruud Gullit (all ex chelsea players), Alex Stewart and a stand up comedian who's name i forget (both celebrities who support Chelsea) and about 3 Chelsea football fans (regular people like you and i)

Does that make sense now? This was an actual football tournament, not a create your own fantasy calcio team.

I don't think i can make it any more clear than that

I don't think this will happen in Serie A.
Many legendary players switched from one clubs to another, including derby rivals. Where would Vieri, Emerson, Baggio and countless other players stand?

Someone who actually understands the thread!

Vieri & Emerson are still playing, so they wouldn't be able to play. It's for ex-footballers, ones who have retired, so only Baggio would be a problem.
