Week 9 A.C Milan vs A.S Roma 10/28/07
perhaps one of the biggest tests this season for us Roma has had a tremendous start to serie A but has fallen off recently they only have one win in last five gameswhich was against parma
Roma's recent form: DDLWD but to be fair 3 out of 5 of these have been against very tough opponets juve, inter, and fiorentina.....Roma also pulled off a dramatic win against Sporting lisbon in stadio olimpico On the other hand we have have been going through a really tough time in serie A we cant be too confident because after we beat lazio we lost against empoli and Roma is much tougher than Empoli but since this is at the san siro it will be our 3rd strait game at home its a perfect chance to close the gap at the top of the table and gain back confidence in serie A ...since roma has played in the CL they will be tired like lazio as we r much more expierenced in these types of situaions not to mention lots of roma players r injured looking forward to this big clash Milan's recent form: DLDWL

Having Kaka in the team and also after the extraordinary play against Shakhtar the morale of the entire team will be very high.
This would help to host Roma and send them back to the capital with 0 point. Score would be 2-0 or 3-1. The match will also show who is better....Kaka vs Totti and Ambro vs De Rossi. Hope that Emerson will be on the pitch and score against his former team.

I wish to see Totti on the pitch even though this would make the match tougher for us, I also which that Milan can win with good performance and to see Gila hitting back of the net, I am very optimistic this time like what I was against Shakhter so I would say 3 1 for Milan by Gila, Kaka and Ambro, and Perotta for Roma, I also have a feeling that Inter will fail this week, hope it will happen.

If teams around the world watched that beat down that we handed out to Shakhtar yesterday and they have half a brain, they know that the more men you push up front in attacking positions to find that goal...the worse the beatdown we'll give to you will be. Our team (more than others) NEED space to operate effectively.
If Roma plays 9 or 10 behind the ball, have us press, and then counter attack the hell out of us...it will be a looooooong day. Empoli played that type of game to perfection. They counter attacked all game. They looked dangerous, but didn't have the quality to finish their opportunities more than once. A team like Roma playing this style will not waste opportunities. Did you see our defense running back to try and stop the counter against Empoli? I guess all I'm saying is that a 4 -1 beatdown of Shakhtar doesn't necessarily translate into a win against Roma. (and if teams catch on to this and start applying it against us in the Champions League it could get scarry) |

Mr. Anonymous, thats way Milan need a early goal. The longer we go without a goal the higher the chance we'll draw or lose. I know that sounds elimentary but it is very important for us to get teams out of there shell early.

^ @Mr.Anonimous : Yeah, but can you imagine Roma playing with 10 men behind the ball ? It's simply not their style, Spalletti's style.
Totti and Perrotta are both doubts. Even if they make it i can't see them play more than an hour. Since Spalletti took over Roma, i believe this is the greatest chance for Ancelotti to beat him. The only win against Spalletti in these two season was in the last round of 2005/06 when Roma didn't need any points and Milan were fighting with Juve for the scudetto. In the match before this one and in the 4 matches after that, Roma were simply the (much) better team. If someone asks me (and noone will ) i'll say : DRAW, please !

Most if not all Serie A teams have the ability throw the whole team behind the ball and just play defense. That's what Italian football was all about, and although it's changed a lot its still in their blood to defend. If Roma get that first goal...guarenteed they're gonna sit back (even more so than usually) and allow for Milan to attack. At the rate that Milan's offensive scores goals it's a good risk to take if you're Roma. Also since we haven't changed much since last year and Roma has arguably gotten better, this game will be scarry for Milan IMO. (Last year Mexes hit us up for a goal & almost scored a second the exact same way he scored the first) jcastagn -I totally agree with you. We have to find an early goal. But even in games that we have, at times we haven't been able to hold on to that lead, and Roma has a potent offense. All that said...I think we will find a way to get the win. |

I expect to See the same Formation(line-up) that played vs Shakhtar as it works in CL and also in Serie A...
and besides i saw on acmilan.com that Ancelotti is changing to the 4-4-2 Formation so i guess it will be long before we see Inzaghi playing ![]() I say and hope the Match will end atleast 2-0 for milan maybe 2-1 if Totti plays ![]() PS: Totti had an injury is not expected to be playing in the match... |

Like mr.Anon says, if they play pressing (and their team is capable of playing tight hard football) against us we will struggle big time. I predict a draw, that can only be avoided by kaka's brilliance or gila's miracle... em... goal.

Ronaldo is not ready and will not play against Roma and Sampdoria, and will be back in the MIDDLE of next month... but which year??
What the hell were they thinking, I dont know, but I see its pretty obvious that Ronaldo's legs cant play real football anymore. Sad, but true. Untill we dont buy a mfast midfielder which can play efficiently in the midfield of our sistem alongside pirlo, sedorf, kaka', rino, we will not be able to win scudetto. We dont have Sheva anymore, and a forward like Drogba would not solve anything right now as some are suggesting. Our play would still be predictable , too defensive and too slow. Its not about motivation as Galliani is saying/lying! There are 2 ways of winning scudetto: 1. having pure power like Juve 2. having incredible technique and speed like Milan with Cafu, Sheva, Rui, Serginho, Maldini... at full power! ---------------------------------------------------------- tne third way is also known as "Calciopoli". I dont see us winning against Roma, sorry guys.

IN cases of huge pressing by the opposition Pirlo is the man who can make the difference, He wont get marked tightly so he will have the space needed to create, however I have my doubts on the attack, Gila and Kaka are doing great lately but its not gonna be easy this time.

This should actually give us a good chance of winning. Kaka and Gila are playing great at the moment, and if the midfielders do their job as well (both offensively and defensively), then I think we'll win. There's also talk about Totti not playing, which would be great news for us. I am so desperate for a Serie A win now, I don't think I can handle another defeat in 2007. |

attacking style doesnt mean there wont be constant pressure on pirlo and kaka. Even when milan is attacking we have gattuso and another DM to control/destroy/mark the midfield.
