Matteo Ferrari to Milan
According to Gazzetta, he has agreed on a four-year deal with Milan, after failing to agree to a new contract with Roma. He will join on a Bosman this summer.

As i said in the summer mercato thread, we will sign a defender on the cheap side and a few others like Darmian and Marzoratti (now at Empoli) will come from our youth team. That defender, if the news is correct, is Matteo Ferrari.
I don't know about him. He was part of Inter's defence in Inter- Milan 0-6. Not a brilliant CV if you ask me. But this is one of those signing that are meant to add more depth in out team, and Ferrari has been an Italian International, so he should give him some credit.

I hope we will sign someone else too though. Zambrotta is probably coming, but I'm thinking about a central defender who can take Kaladze's place in the starting line-up.

Wow, I was actually first to report this over in the summer mercato thread last week! But then I watched him against Juve, and it wasn't such a good performance, although he got better as time went on. Lots of bad passes though. I'm going to need some more time to watch him and decide.

Just wait to see how hot is Ferrari's girlfriend, Aida Yespica. She's a Southern American sex bomb who works on italian tv as soubrette.

I dont expect to see Milan signing Ferrari. Why should we sign this player? If we just want to add dept to CB, I think it's better to give chance to young player like Marzoratti or Darmian. We have already Bonera and Simic as CB. We need a world class CB to be paired with Nesta IMO or at least decent CB to compete a spot in central defence against Kaladze.
What we need more (at defence department) are fullbacks, left and right ones. If Cafu, Serginho and Favalli follow Maldini's step to retire, then we have only Oddo as right fullback and Jankulovski as left one considering Simic and Bonera as CB. Last edited by Siregar; 18-02-2008 at 09:15. |

i support the move if he is in to replace Simic. Not as 1st or 2nd choice. If we lose Favalli, cafu and Maldini it would be dangerous to replace them with Ferrari, Marzoratti and Darmian.
still wouldnt mind Barzagli, Pasqual, Zambrotta, De silvestri.. or even Alves (if his fee wont bankrupt us)

I choose to trust the Milan management this summer. I think they know what they are doing in regards to the transfer market, and the reason we've spent so little in the past couple of transfer seasons might be that they've been saving up for the coming summer, when there will have to be a lot of changes. There's not even a question about it. If they want Milan to stay competitive, there is no choice but to invest heavily in renewing the squad. If not, then around this time next season we fans will be discussing whether we'll be able to qualify for the UEFA Cup, not the CL. I think the management realizes this too.

I choose to trust our management at all time.. hehe... I think Ferrari can help, but only as replacement to Simic, who wants to play, and at his age, he needs to move somewhere else... Ferrari will not be an important part of the first team structure...

At least Ferrari is free. We can save the money for fullbacks, our weakest positions.

Come on guys, I think he is a very desent defender, a very good back up and we got him for free. If we have a Nesta - Kaladze partnership and Ferrari to be a back for one of them I think thats pretty good. He is FREE !
