A bit about Heerenveen:

SC Heerenveen (Frisian: sc It Hearrenfean) is a Dutch football club currently playing in the Eredivisie, the Dutch Premier Division.

The club, founded on July 20, 1920, is located in the town of Heerenveen. A small club by European standards, SC Heerenveen managed to qualify for the UEFA Champions League group stage in the 2000-01 season, having finished in 2nd position in the Eredivisie in the 1999-00 season.

Having played in European cup competitions for many seasons, the club can be seen as one of the few teams in the Eredivisie who can challenge the top triumvirate of Ajax, Feyenoord and PSV. The average attendance is just over 25,000 spectators. Ever since the stadium was opened (in 1994) the stadium has been in a constant state of redevelopment - in only two seasons (up to 2007) has the shape of the stadium remained the same.

The crest on the club emblem is the symbol of the flag of Friesland, the province where the club is located, and every home game at the Abe Lenstra Stadion is preceded with the Frisian anthem.

The club was led from 1983 until September 2006 by president Riemer van der Velde, the longest tenure of any president with a professional club in the Netherlands.

Uefa Cup Season 2008-09

Heerenveen ended 5th in the Eredivisie in season 2007-08 and secured a Uefa cup ticket for season 2008-09 in the play-offs. For the first European match they defeated Vitoria Setubal 6-3 on aggregate. With this win they secured a place in the groupfase of the Uefa cup.

One more team with a one of the better player being Croatian. Pranjic is arguably their best player, though i think that Zambrota can neutralize him, So we should not habe bigger problem with them.e

I've bought the match, even if it's 15 bloody euros for the game..i can't resist when Milan play.

I'll watch it on myp2p.eu, or maybe on some digi sat program if it is on.

Looking forward seeing Pranjic ( I've seen him play live when he was a young palyer of 18 years old as he is from my home club ) against Zambrotta now! That will be some chalenge for Croatian player. And I think Herenven is the best team after Milan in this group, so that will be our toughest game.

Looks from the makings of this squad, that we are taking this match very seriously.

Ace..what do u think Cardacio´s impact will be?

I hope Pato gets a run, despite or maybe because of his poor showing vs Samp...especially if we are facing a side brave (or foolish) enough to attack us, and contribute to an open game.

We should win, but this is just the type of match we can stumble with, especially if we dont start with the right attitude. Would love to see R80 and Kaka on from the start.

Senderos still injured? Why did he even come? The guy has been out for like almost three months

I think he needs just a bit of training, I saw him in Tirana training with the rest of the team normally. I think we will see him very soon.
