Coach for next season!

According to the gazzetta dello sport Carlo Ancelotti will leave Milan for Chelsea!! 70% chance he is joining Chelsea, 20% he is joining Real Madrid and 10% chance he is staying.
His replacement would be Massimiliano Allegri, Cagliari's coach.

This news came out of nothing, so I wonder how true this is. but it does sounds like music in my ears!

Allegri? In all fairness other than doing reasonably well with Cagliari this season (since taking over from Ballardini), I don't see why we'd be looking at him. It would be great if he's another Sacchi (coming to be the best from no where), but somehow I'm pessimistic about this rumour.

I'm not sure going for a coach with just 1 year of Serie A experience is a good idea. I'd prefer to see us getting someone like Prandelli, Spalletti or someone abroad - a big name with experience at, or near, the top. It's important that the players respect - maybe even fear - him, especially the likes of Seedorf, Pirlo and Ronaldinho who (while the last two haven't been as bad as some would say) aren't giving a 100%, or 90% for that matter. We need a coach who won't have favourites that he always picks regardless of form and who can bring out the best of those unmotivated players. I don't know if Allegri is that coach, I don't know his style, but I have my reservations about someone who 1 year ago coached Sassuolo in Serie C1.

If we take someone with no experience or almost, let's go for a coach from our former players ... I don't know Allegri enough to judge, but if that sounds like music in your ears Filipez, that sounds like bad music in mines. I may be wrong.

Its not always a bad thing! look at Sacchi, or Guardiola!
Even the best coaches fck up sometimes with some teams, and are brilliant at other teams. Everything begins with a good balance in the squad with a good mix between youngsters and experienced players. It all has to fall into the right place. The problem with ancelotti is that cant axe 'his' players who won so much with him as our manager. He isnt ready to try new things and different players, he did some brilliant things here but is relying too much on his former succes. thats why we need to change coach, someone who is ready to build a fresh milan squad with new ideas and younger players. Someone who has no problem putting big names on the bench for younger players who are in better form or simply better players. And Allegri for sure is a talented coach! He may not have the experience but he could build our 'new' Milan IMO. And come on, the guy must do something good if our management want him, becouse there are also names like rijkaard available so that would be the 'easyer' option.

Who knows. It's more important to get right players.

I agree.

No coach in the world can make a defense of Favalli, Senderos, Bonera, Kaladze and Maldini look solid. Players are needed.

In my opinion Ancelotti in among 10 best coaches in the world. Any of those coaches would be good if proper players are bought, and any of those coaches would look bad with these players.

If Carlo does leave then it is a no brainer.

Rijkaard (Leonardo with an extremely outside chance)

It's true that Allegri is hardly a proven coach, and in truth there might not be anything to these rumours at all. If it is true that the management has looked at Allegri, then it's clearly cause they see something in him. And in all honosty I'd definetly prefer choosing a coach based on a well thought out decision, evaluating exactly what kind of coach we need, instead of picking up a big name coach with loads of credentials for the sake of picking up a superstar coach.

I know alot of people don't have alot of faith in the management at the moment, but we can't forget that it was the same management that picked up Sacchi and Capello. They were both unproven when they started coaching Milan, and they've turned out to be two of the best coaches the world have ever seen in my opinion.

I'm not saying that Allegri is definetly the perfect fit for Milan, but perhaps we as fans should look at the choice (if we'll get a new coach) in a positive way, even if the new coach is not a big name superstar.

Galliani officially said that there was no research nor any contact for a new coach. It is on the website of Milan.

Cagliari also said it was not true.

Anyway, we're lucky, we're at the center of football medias: Kaka', Ancelotti, who else then ?

The only reason they are receiving media attention is that they are good. Otherwise, why would they?
