Give Kaka the Arm-Band.

I don't think he will leave. Kaka should be Milan's next Captain period!!!!

After the game Kaka was asked if it was his last game in Milan as described by Spanish media? He smiled and replied that he is very happy to play Champions league again with Milan.

And when asked about Ancelotti's departure he replied that he's very close and grateful to him as all his successes and achievements in these 6 years are thanks to Ancelotti.

Kaka is a loving and caring man with the strength both as a person and a player to wear the captain armband for Milan for many years.

I'd be happy to see that happen. He would be a very good choice.

I'm sure Kaka has a wonderful relationship with Leonardo too. He has nothing to worry about.

Kaka is the obvious choice for captain if Milan didn't operate this hierarchy nonsense, which means Ambrosini is next in line for the armband. I have no problem with him taking the armband, but he will be 33 soon and I don't think he's even a guaranteed starter, and then theres Gattuso, who has characteristics more of a grunt/pawn than a leader. Ideally Nesta should be captain, but again he's getting on a bit and has injury issues. Also if Ambrosini and Gattuso are both out of the lineup, does that mean Dida would be captain?

If the decision were solely based on hierarchy, then yes. But it's not, and therefore it definitely won't be Dida next in line for the armband.

He's done it a couple times here (most memorably on 1/06 vs. Ascoli when Ambro was sent off, after which he provided the assist for Pippo's gamewinning goal), but playing time and form notwithstanding, he doesn't really have the temperament to be team captain on a long-term basis. Besides being overtly quiet, he regularly looks like a grouch during games (part of his charm), which isn't really captain material.

I would have to say Ambro for now because I feel Kaka isn't ready for captaincy just yet.

actually, love is not the best word to use here, ... but guys, gattuso is a beast, he would fight with mike tyson for milan, he would do anything for milan, and i think that it would be pretty unfair to him if kaka becomes a new captain....
after all, gattuso is much more experienced, he is a figther also, and he is an italian also, and he is in milan longer than kaka........
so why the hell do u want kaka for captain when there is RINO ?

Rino is also a card waiting to happen. You need your captain on the field, not serving suspension...

Yes. Gattuso has my vote too. I'd like Kaka as a vice-captain though.
Gattuso lays it out on the line every time he plays. Yes, he's not the most technically talented player, but his desire and motivation makes up for it.

Giving Kaka' the armband, or making him viceCaptain would be a good idea from the perspective that he's a romantice... he has given up a load of money to stay where he feels he's loved, and wants to become part of the club's history... he has said he wanted to be like Maldini in that sense...

the problem is that, when you see what the Curva Sud leaders did during Maldini's farewell, you wonder if it's really worth it...

We know he's smart enough to see beyond a small group of ultras who think they're more important and deserve more respect than a professional who has devoted his career and every day life for a club... but still, the armband would be like a signature on that commitment from the club to him...

Given up a load of money?? Isn't Kaka one of our highest, if not our highest paid player in the team?

Agreed. In all honesty, Rino is the equivalent of lighting a match to look inside a gas canister; you'll never know when it'll go boom.
