Livorno - Milan (12-13/10/09)

Let's go for the next game ... the game against Inter is already past, let's try to look forward and not being depressed. There could even be something good happening on the last day of the mercato as Leonardo replied to a journalist "Another new player ? We'll see ...".

Anyway, here is the new ranking:

1st - Sampdoria (6 pts)
2nd - Juventus (6 pts)
3rd - Genoa (6 pts)
4th - Lazio (6 pts)

5th - Inter (4 pts)
6th - Parma (4 pts)

7th - Fiorentina (4 pts)
8th - Sienna (3 pts)
9th - Napoli (3 pts)
10th - Palermo (3 pts)
11th - Milan (3 pts)
...
20th - Roma (0 pt)

Schedule (12 and 13th of September):

Lazio (4th) - Juventus (2nd)
Inter (5th) - Parma (6th)
Genoa (3rd) - Napoli (9th)
Fiorentina (7th) - Cagliari (16th)
Sienna (8th) - Roma (20th)
Livorno (15th) - Milan (11th)
Atalanta (19th) - Sampdoria (1st)

What to expect:

- Livorno vs Milan, or how to help us to change our mind after this game against Inter. Livorno is far to be a team in form, they're not a top team, we have to win against them. It is very important to forget this humiliation against Inter, to take points and stay in the race of Serie A and of course, to get some confidence before the CL game in Marseille !!

- I expect a third victory in a row for both clubs from Genoa. Sampdoria is on fire in this start of season and Genoa has a very well-built team ...

- Lazio vs Juventus will be the main game of this week-end (after ours of course ) between two teams that won their first two games ... Juventus was quiet impressive against Roma and will have to have a good result, like us, to prepare their CL game against Bordeaux, the best French team.

- Inter playing at home against Parma is the ideal way for Paloschi to recall to our management that he will be very usefull in Milan next year (he scored again this Sunday). Actually, I don't expect a good result from Parma but I'd like Paloschi to create some surprise by scoring once or twice, allowing his team to get some good result (a draw).

- To finish, Roma is already going to play to survive after their two initial defeats (against Genoa and Juventus). I hope they will manage to do it because Serie A needs to have Roma and all other historical teams on top of the ranking (Roma, Lazio, Milan, Inter, Juventus, Genoa, Sampdoria, Napoli, Fiorentina and why not Parma).

PS: If someone can complete the schedule with the right days and the right hours of the games, it would be welcome !!

Antonini--Nesta--T.Silva--Flamini

----Abate---Seedorf----Pirlo----

-------------R80---------------

-----Pato----------Klass-------

more concentration on strength and posession, let pirlo go forward seedorf is strong enough to dominate midfield and since we know he cant backtrack he'll be in a lazy position, abate welcome to the starting 11 we need your crosses and high workrate, i know rino will just be coming back from injury SO HE SHOULD NOT START!, i hope flamini can understand we want to try something diffrent...antonini now or never, atleast he'll be able to backtrack because of his quick speed..the question is do we wait for the counter of livorno or rush right at them?....come on everyone life goes on the season is not done grab your balls your club needs you then after everybody keep in mind we have date in Europe 2 days later with Marseille....

We will play our game the Saturday for sure, so there will be 3 days between Livorno and Marseille ...

About Gattuso, don't worry, with a red card, he won't play ...

Out: Gatusso (suspended), Borriello, Zambrotta
In: Abate (play as ?LM or LWM?), Hunterlaar, Antonini (for all you haters out there, after the way Zambrotta played, let's give him a go!)

Ahhhhhhh, we should have got more players, now that we Champions League in our roster. Trying to balance the two with a small list (or a list with little depth) will destroy us on both fronts (Domestic and Europe).

Transfer Window is closed, so no surprises.

I'll be expecting this lineup:

Storari
Zambrotta - Nesta - Thiago Silva - Jankulovski
Seedorf - Pirlo - Flamini
Ronaldinho
Huntelaar - Pato

And I think that that will probably be my prefered lineup aswell, but you never know, perhaps Leo will play Ambrosini over Seedorf. I think Pirlo will be the captain, although I'd prefer Nesta for that.

great one from the russoneri, they did their best against the nerrazuri but it is very painful to loose to inter milan cause they are the greatest milan rivals from years back till date and i will urge them not to be depressed cause this is just the beginning of the season and i hope they will bo more better against livorno and am seriously pleeding to our generous coach leonardo to please talk to the players to not get disgust about the match so they can concentrate against livorno. SIR LEONARDO pls to me as a great milan fans since 2000 in the match against inter we did a lot of mistakes by not starting seedorf and not playing inzaghi and abate.

One question can this Oneyewu play at fullback?

Bonera is too slow and dirty to do it. Antonini is a poor mans Jankulovski. Does our season really rely on Kaladze and Oddo to step in?

@ K77SH C

There is no need to bash Bonera and Antonini. Bonera has performed satisfactorily as a RB and Antonini is any day better than the Janku we have seen recently. Least of all, these guys would certainly be more hungrier for victory than most of guys who played against Inter.

The team has 2 weeks to work hardly ... and the best thing is that our Brazilian stars will stay in Milan this time as they are not called up with their NT.

So, for 15 days, I'd like Leonardo to work on a kind of 4-3-3, the way he'd like to play. It's now or never to try it, it will be against Livorno or never, because then, there will be no time to change our formation and work on it as we will have to play Serie A and CL and will have no potential game to test it.

The formation I'd like to see:

-------------- Storari ---------------
Bonera - Nesta - T.Silva - Zambrotta
-------------- Flamini --------------- <= Or Ambrosini
-------- Pirlo --------- Seedorf ------ <= Abate for one of them
------ Borri - Huntelaar - Pato ------- <= Inzaghi, R80 and why not Zigoni (by waiting for Di Gennaro)

That won't happen anyway for several reasons:
- CL game some days after, so Nesta for example should be rested ...
- This formation depends again on the will of Pirlo and Seedorf to run (for Seedorf, it seems the new coach could make him running, but for Pirlo ??) because they will have to be the ones passing to the strikers. The other problem is that Borriello and probably Huntelaar are not players who are technically good enough to keep the ball, I mean, this formation looks (too much ?) like the one of Barcelona, and Messi, Henry and Ibrahimovic are able to keep the ball for a long time which allows Barcelona to have the possession of the game, are Borri and Huntelaar able to do it too ?

I dont like or rate Bonera.

I do actually like Antonini, but Leonardo is the second coach to not pick him. They must see something in training.

The result we got against Inter is the one that could take the smile away from a person forever. Absolute abomination! We must not celebrate or lay down our guard after a game or two. The coaches must get really strict with the players and let them know that no one is special. Everyone must prove their worth during every training session and every game. This is very essential because the older players don't seem to take Leo seriously and the younger players must be provided with some examples. We need to adopt the Sacchi system.

I don't mind benching Pirlo for a game or two. He needs to know that he isn't special.

since we have CL right after this game maybe we could change it up a bit

Storari
Antonini-Bonera-Silva-Albertazzi
Abate-Flamini-Ambro
Seedorf
Pato-Huntelaar

Livorno isnt really good so we could get some guys experience
