European clubs can no longer spend more than they earn.
Very good news for football in that UEFA has decreed that no football team can spend money on players/wages that they havent earned in the year. This will stop billionaire owners pumping money into clubs, and finally balance out the power of football. This is very good news for Milan, as they are one of the most internationally recognised teams in the world, their annual turnover must be bigger than most teams. Lets hope that UEFA stick to this and have it in place at the start of 10/11 season!

Actually, if you read the article -
"Some of Europe's major clubs are carrying debts counted in hundreds of millions, with Real Madrid estimated to be in the red by £500m at the end of the 2007/08 season." Not a chance Real earned that much without winning the CL. |
