AC Milan-Cagliari Giornata 13

AC Milan-Cagliari

After a very good run we are going to face a good team who currently has the best form in Serie A.They have won 4 times in a row(!!),Inter and we(Milan)have won 3 and draw 1.It is obvious that Cagliari are a tough team,they are just like last year in great shape and play nice good football.They have very good players like our Astori.So we have to put all the effort if we want to collect three points.

There is one problem for this match,we miss Nesta who is suspended because of his yellow card against Lazio.....so that means Kaladze will play.Kaladze played very solid in his last match with Thiago against Parma,but you know Kala,one day he will mark players out of the game and the other day he will give a horrorshow.....

I think looking at our confident level and form,we should beat them even if it is with 1-0.This is a difficult game,but from what i have seen every game in Serie A are difficult,because either the opponents are in great shape(Parma,Samp),or they are doing bad but still have allot of quality(like Roma,Lazio).

Oddo,Silva,Thiago,Antonini
Ambrosini,Pirlo,Seedorf
Pato,Borriello,Ronaldinho

Zambrotta goes with the Italian team so he needs rest and i want to see Antonini because although Zambro is in defense much better we need some speed and attack if we want to beat Cagliari.Nobody needs rest because nobody goes on international duty except Pirlo,Huntelaar(who has enough rest on the bench...)and Zambro.I do not expect Pirlo to play both games with Italy....and we need him badly.

The game is on the 22nd. Very early to open such a thread. Not a bad thing tho .

As said above, Cagliari are in great form and are a good team. Really tough game.

Very few of our players will be playing for their national teams so we should see fresh legs versus Cagliari. Maybe we will have lost some momentum, but the psychological boost of going into the break with positive form and a win in the latest game will be important, and hopefully Leo will give some good motivational talks in Milanello. Overall we should be walking into this game with our heads high, and a very good chance to win. What worries me though is the absence of Nesta. Will Kaladze be able to offer replacement? Please yes. And if Leonardo has managed to keep Dida free from didaster for so long I dont think it would be too much to ask for him to keep Kaladze from doing foolish things.

For midfield and attack it should be obvious who should play, but I am not convinced about our fullbacks. To be honest, they are all equally bad that it is hard to pick which one is the lesser bad. I would like to see Antonini on the left, and if all goes well he wont get cramps or minor injuries like in his last two games. On the right its between Oddo, Abate and Zambro. While I do like Abate's pace, I feel he cannot offer enough defensively in such a difficult game. And I am not so satisfied with his tendency to get unnecessary cards. So I would narrow it down to Oddo/Zambro.

Pato - Borrigol - Ronaldinho

Subs which should be used for sure: Flamini... for any of the midfielders, depending on situation.

Antonini in, and either zambrotta or Abate for the other full back spot. Oddo needs a rest....
And yes, give Borri another chance despite his average run last time....

What makes you so sure that Nesta is going to miss the game?

Nesta is out and i just hope Kaladze will do good like he did against Parma. So i would like to see the same team which played Parma..

It's probably good Nesta is out tbh. He's just had a minor surgery on his nose (reported a success) and will be out 3-4 days anyway, so it'll be good to make sure he's fully recovered before he plays again.

... and also, we will play Samp, Palermo, Fiorentina, Genoa and Juventus from week 15 to week 19. If we could get past Cagliari safely without Nesta, then yes, this suspension would turn out to be good.

Somehow, I do not think that's a bad news. He is young, has great fitness and do not play regulary for half a year, so he need real matches at highest level to regain the best of him soon.

Pirlo and Zambrotta have been send home by Lippi together with Cannavaro and Buffon.Great news,finally Pirlo can have some rest and regain power.So now our entire squad should be fit for the match against Cagliari.

I would rather have a tired Thiago than a fit Kaladze any day.
