Milan axe falls on Leonardo

LEONARDO will quit as AC Milan boss at the end of the season.
Milan owner Silvio Berlusconi criticised the Brazilian, who only took the job last summer.

The Italian prime minister said: "Yes he will leave, we are working on a new coach.

"The new coach? There are talks in place with others.

"Leonardo has been too tough headed and the team has played badly this season."

Leonardo had a rough start both in the league and Champions League.

But the team steadily improved and were challenging rivals Inter for the Serie A title until falling behind in March.

Milan reached the first knockout round of the Champions League but lost 7-2 on aggregate to Manchester United.

I wouldn't mind Benitez (he loves european cups) or Wenger (he loves kids) but as both are not the good art buying established players it would work out for us as the owner buys players.

The downside to this 'experiment' is as i previously said we have lost a really good scout.

RB is overrated and Wenger is the type of manager that will demand a hands off and silence from his owners-which is something that Berlu can't handle.

As long as Berlu and Galli are in charge of MIlan, I really don't expect to see any quality coach coming in

Sad to lose Leo as a scout but as a manager he's totally unproven. Yes he's squeezed as much blood as he could out of this lineup but it's still not enough. He's created this formation that relies on 2 starters and when one or both is out of form or injured, our team goes to ****. That is not the mark of a good manager. The team has to be geared from match day 1 until the end of the season. Leo's team has died since March and we would be in great danger at the moment if someone behind us had more points.

Don't cry over spilt milk, if Leo had bombed this year, people wouldn't care one bit about his sacking. Look at this with a bigger picture.

Every other team is the same, a team full of galacticos too, a team like Liverpool too. Most teams go south losing 1, not 2, players.
Judging a coach by tactics and motivational skills is one thing, dependence on a player is universal.

No back-ups, no mid, no proper centre forward, a system chosen to appease the presidents fav player. He done a great job. He could've gave the youth more chances, and putting up wth B&G on a regular basis is a sainthood in football.

Im sorry but injuries happen in every sport. It's up to the manager to put the team in the right position to win. Like it has been pointed out by others...games vs manchester for example, Leo has showed horrible tactics.

And his unwillingness to go to another formation considering we have no wingers shows how stubborn he is. People used to hate Carlo for not infusing youth and relying on older players. Well those older players worked...Leo's formation isn't.

We're in 3rd place because our team is a good squad and ONLY a good squad, not great. Not because of Leo...

^^ We're third place because Leo worked a miracle by changing formation to suit Dinho. If you recall how bad we were before that formation change we looked like a mid-table side. Leo is the one responsible for taking that mid-table team and changing it into a team that actually had MULTIPLE chances to go top of the table, but alas the players' age caught up to them in the final sprint.

This just proves what an idiot Berlu is. Once again he's putting his own ego ahead of the club. Leo has done a tremendous job with very limited resources, and I honestly don't know who could come in and do a better job.

Leo... he didn't have resourses but he used Hunte as a MR, Borriello was playing even when he was not in good conditon so 25% responsibility..
