AC Milan vs. Genoa (25/9/2010: 12:00 ET)
I know it's a bit early but I thought I'd start this thread. It now seems the Strike on Saturday has been Postponed and we'll probably play. This changes our Tactics for the Lazio Game, and also this game. Genoa is much improved this year and are hoping to crack the top 4. They are Manchester City/Tottenham LITE as they have spent some money in the Summer.
Milan has Lazio tonight @ Stadio Olimpico and Ajax in the Netherlands next week in Champions League. This could be Allegri's most important game in Serie A yet as this game is sandwiched between two important games. Also, Flamini should be back fully fit and should play. Will Allegri adjust lineup or keep the 4-3-3? As soon as the Lazio game ends, let's start discussing Tactical setups for Genoa... FORZA MILAN! Last edited by Elmago99; 22-09-2010 at 08:33. |

I just re-read Allegri's comment prior to the game against Lazio. He said while Flamini had been training since the beginning of the week, Robinho only took a full training session just one day before the game. Perhaps that's the reason why he sent Robinho so late into the match.
Having said that, provided they stay fit until Saturday I don't see any reason why he can't play them right from the start this time, and put Prince back to midfield. The rest of the players from defense to attack won't change much from our last game though I think, having played the whole 90 mins for two consecutive games, we should rest Nesta so he can be ready for our next UCL game against Ajax. Lastly, for the first time since 1995, the Genoa supporters are allowed to come to San Siro. Let's hope nothing bad happen in honor of the late Vincenzo Spagnolo.

Ranking after 4 games
1st - Inter (10 points) 2nd - Chievo (9 points) 3rd - Brescia (9 points) 4th - Catania (7 points) 5th - Lazio (7 points) 6th - Cesena (7 points) 7th - Cagliari (6 points) 8th - Milan (5 points) 9th - Sampdoria (5 points) 10th - Parma (5 points) 11th - Napoli (5 points) 12th - Bologna (5 points) 13th - Genoa (5 points) 14th - Bari (5 points) 15th - Juventus (4 points) 16th - Palermo (4 points) 17th - Lecce (4 points) 18th - Fiorentina (2 points) 19th - Roma (2 points) 20th - Udinese (0 point) Matchday 5 25/09/10 - 18:00 Milan - Genoa 25/09/10 - 20:45 Roma - Inter 26/09/10 - 12:30 Cesena - Napoli 26/09/10 - 15:00 Fiorentina - Parma Palermo - Lecce Sampdoria - Udinese Chievo - Lazio 26/09/10 - 20:45 Juventus - Cagliari What to expect this W-E Milan - Genoa: We all hope to see a good Milan against Genoa, but I'm not sure we have enough time to really improve compared to the last few games ... but what can be said for us can also be said for Genoa and their new players. They have failed, so far, to impress despite their excellent mercato. Will they shine against us ? I don't think so, we should see 2 games actually: a good one in the best moments, with both Genoa and Milan able to play a good football, but we'll also see, I think, some moments of trouble with missed passes, etc for both teams. So it will probably not be the most spectacular game of the season, but a win will do it ... ![]() Roma - Inter: The champion against the second of last year ... Appealing game, if we forget to mention that Roma are really in bad shape nowadays whereas Inter has a super-Eto'o (though they are not impressive as a team). I expect a draw in this game, because Roma can't lose it, because Borriello will score and dedicate his goal(s) to Milan, and because with a loss in this game, Roma would be in big trouble. Other games: For moment, I don't care ... except if we have a bad game, I will try to watch Juventus (at least some minutes), to laugh a little bit and say to myself "well, we're not that bad" again !! ![]() Statistics Milan: - Our results are W-L-D-D (a win and a draw at home) - 6 goals scored and 4 goals conceded so far, 5 goals scored and 1 goal conceded at home Genoa: - Their results are W-L-D-D (a win and a draw away) - 4 goals scored and 5 goals conceded so far, 2 goals scored and 1 goal conceded away - Genoa scored one goal in their 4 games

I was hoping that strike could go on. First, we could get some breathing time and maybe wait until Pato is back; secondly, Roma could play Inter at a later time.
Now, let's hope that we could somehow pull one win. ![]()

I'm hoping for a starting lineup with Flamini and Robinho. At least if they are at 100%.

According to il Corriere dello Sport, Coach Massimiliano Allegri will make changes in his starting eleven and Brazilian star Robinho will make his first start for AC Milan.
La Gazzetta dello Sport reports that the Rossoneri will stick with 4-3-3, with Kevin-Prince Boateng, Clarence Seedorf and Andrea Pirlo in midfield and Robinho, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Ronaldinho up front. S.S. Lazio 1 – 1 Milan I expected more from Milan, says Galliani Robinho has played three matches for the Red & Black outfit as a substitute but was given little try to impress. Now that Alexandre Pato is injured and Robinho has shaken off completely his minor injury, he’s set to start. Milan will play Genoa at Stadio San Siro on Saturday afternoon at 18:00 CET.

There was plenty of expectation when Robinho arrived from Manchester City, but he has been used sparingly by coach Massimiliano Allegri, who has largely resisted calling him. Alexandre Pato's injury seemed to allow Robinho hope of regular action, but Allegri doesn't feel he is ready in terms of fitness. There is still work to be done before he can be considered to start from the outset. And the coach is aware he needs to win against Genoa with Inter five points clear. The Rossoneri cannot afford mistakes, suggesting the Brazilian whiz will start on the bench. Milan clash with Genoa, Ajax and Parma within the next seven days. But there are conflicting messages over Robinho. Il Corriere dello Sport are claiming he could indeed play. They report Clarence Seedorf and Andrea Pirlo may be rested, allowing Robinho a chance to play. He is the only real alternative to Pato, but the Rome-based paper are also concerned with his condition.

Allegri said Robinho will start on the bench against Genoa http://www.goal.com/en/news/10/italy...-against-genoa as he doesn't feel he's fit enough.Same team again it looks like guess Allegri is aiming to avoid the drop ?? I don't want to get on his back but Pato is Injured so Robinho is ideal replacement but he isnt fit ?? looked good for Brasil , and Boateng in midfield with Flamini if he wants to go 4-3-3.
..................Abbiati................. Abate...Nesta...Silva..Antonini...... Boateng......Pirlo.......Flamini......... Robinho..............Ronaldinho......... .................Ibra........................ Surely better than the last lineup , but Im no tactician just a dreamer..lol

that would also be my lineup, but Seedorf instead of Pirlo. Pirlo has been awful so far.

I don't know why some refer to the game Robinho played with Brazil (Jay here, Brasiliero on the other topic I think). If I'm not wrong, he played 45 minutes only, and it was against Barcelona B ?!
45 minutes of easy football ... And he got his injury after this game, not before. So it's like saying Pato should play because he also played 45 minutes with Brazil ... It looks like Robinho hasn't had the best of the physical preparations, and with this injury, he will need a lot of time to be fully fit, unfortunately. Personnally, I don't expect to see him being 100% fit before mid-October. Anyway, Robinho or not, the midfield has to change !! On TMW, they reported that Flamini could start instead of Seedorf, which is already a good thing. I don't think we can replace both Seedorf and Pirlo (one should replace the other in the team actually) right now, so if Seedorf is on the bench, Pirlo has to play.

Strasser Boateng - Flamini Pirlo Inzaghi - Ibra During the game, you can insert Seedorf, Ronaldinho and/or Robinho. All players needing some rest get a rest ... ![]()
