I know De Rossi played well last night, but I think it had more to do with Spain not playing a real striker. To me, De Rossi pretty much played DM behind the defense whether than being the front. IT is not surprising that once Torres came in, De Rossi no longer got the control in the back.
Another thing I notice so far in the Euros is that all the teams pretty much played with a lone striker with either a supporting striker or two Attk mids behind. R all the countries lacking in strikers or the fact that all the strikers these days just don't know how to play with one another anymore? I remembered not too long ago, top teams always have 2 strikers who can play off each other, the most notable pair being Cole and Yorke, Pippo and DP, Sheva and Pippo, Battigol and Totti(winning the League), Lopez and Crespo(@ Lazio)...
