Corriere della Sera confirm Milan and Inter are both heading towards the plan to demolish San Siro and build a new stadium. The demolition process will be paid by both clubs. The new stadium will cost around €650M shared equally between both clubs

The new stadium’s capacity should be between 60-65K and the inauguration is estimated to be by 2022-2023. Milan and Inter will meet next then will present their project to the municipality in late April.

The model to be followed is Arsenal’s Emirates Stadium which guarantees the club €112M. The entire urban area will be redeveloped with more activity and stores instilled.

The decision of Milan and Inter to share the construction of a stadium is unique in Europe. The shared stadium will allow both clubs to bank the same amount of a stadium built on their own but the returns from the exploitation of the stadium when there’re no games will be halved

The expected new stadium will be built in an area close to the San Siro. 60K capacity, should cost a total investment of €600M (€300M from each club). Construction time frame estimated to be around 30 months [Gazzetta dello Sport]

lol yeah there's no way we'll agree to those terms - we're going to own that stadium for sure. I'd prefer if we were sole owners but if can't afford to do it on our own then I'll settle for sharing with Inter.

I really don't understand the rationale behind not having our own stadium. other than sentimental reason of course.

Scaroni: “We have been collaborating with consultants from around the world for six months to understand which route should we take.”
