Looks like Maldini is a bit sceptical about signing Giroud and wants to explore the possibility of exploiting his friendship with Leonardo to get Icardi.

Maldini kinda knows that having 2 old strikers you gotta need fast, skillful and consistent wingers which nor Leao nor Samu nor (runoured) Berardi can do it. Pellegati says that in case Milan gets Giroud, no Ilicic or older players will be bought for the trequarti. Maldini tends for youth on that department.

I might be in the minority here, but I actually think Giroud would be a really good signing. Our attack relies on a CF who can link up plays very well. Every time we play without Ibra this year, Leao and Rebic had trouble getting anything going as the CF because they don't have the ability to link up and make plays with their feet or physicality. Giroud is the perfect player for that job description. Him and Ibra would basically be a platoon at the CF. Icardi is certainly more talented, but he is more of a poacher and can't link up play as well which makes me think he wouldn't be a strong fit for our system.

We need good back up CF, Giroud is not the best choice but far from the worst too. Especially if any money is saved for CF spot then there should be more for ACM and RW. If both Hakan and Diaz leave they can not be replaced randomly, at least one must be high quality, for CL matches even higher quality than De Paul.

If not both, we should sign at least one of them, Muriel and Depay. You need scorer CAM, they have ability to do it. Need a back up striker, sure. Sometimes on the wings? Why the hell not.

We gonna spend a great deal of money one way or another. Have to spend it wisely!
