On your first point, I don't really agree. The damage was done by previous management, and the current one already had their hands tied. Last summer was so short and it was hard to do anything meaningful; and, other than putting him on the bench (which would inevitably affect our chance of qualifying for CL), I honestly can't think of anything else that could change the course. With Raiola, you know this was going to happen. That, or just giving in to their unreasonable request, which I don't want to see and am happy that it didn't happen.
On your second point, I agree. It was uncalled for. I will have that changed.

I don't think he deserves that plus we are not even in the position to afford it. So that's that. However, I feel leaving the renewal negotiation until that late, until the player is in his final year of his contract, was the first blunder. At that point, you lose bargaining power. You don't allow that to happen, especially when you know you are dealing with a devil agent like Raiola. It's simple Management 101. And when you sense their true intentions of running down the contract, holding you by the b@lls, you go in hard. I wouldn't exclude sending him to the stand. I will do that if that's what it takes. I don't think he and his agent can afford that. He stands to lose more than Milan in that situation. Would that affect our cl chances? That's up for debate. He's good, no doubt. He saved us points but also cost us points. Bottom line, you don't lose that type of asset for free.
Anyway, water under the bridge. Let's just hope it's a hard lesson for the management for future [emoji106]
This discussion about Dollar is redundant. The guy didn’t want to sign with us. He was looking for money only, and the team that can afford to pay exorbitant amounts is PSG, where he ended up. Even if we could afford his salary, it’d have been difficult to finance the fees for the fatso. He was predestined to move away when we failed to renew last year or the year before.

Meh, he's a f*ing goalkeeper. Losing a goalkeeper, even an extremely talented one, is something I can handle, but I'm pissed at the disrespect he's shown the club. Even tonight he came out saying he'll always be a fan and tied to our colours. Should have signed a contract then, so we could at least have sold him. He's just made sure all Milan fans will remember him as a traitor.
Anyway, the rumours about Vlasic are really picking up pace. Would be a fantastic signing if it were to happen. Apparently he wasn't present for training with CSKA today, though I have a feeling people are reading a bit too much into that.
Dutch club Willem II have signed 20 year old Milan central defender Nikos Michelis on loan with option to buy. Has been at Milan since 2019 and played almost all Primavera-matches last season and was also voted best left central defender in the U23 league.
According to SportItalia PSG still want Theo. Maldini sets €80m asking price.

Fantastic? He failed at Everton 3 years ago and has only done well in Russia. Not a starter for Croatia.

To be fair he was 20 when he joined Everton and they are a weak team. Henry too "failed at Juve as did Davids at Milan...
Most observers think he has plenty of talent and could be a smart signing given his potential. Main reason for not always starting is that the Croatian coach has favoured the old guard over younger players.

The likes of Juve sell off their unknown Primavera players for millions and/or with future sale clauses while Milan in contrast get a case of beer if lucky.

Yea there wasn't much Maldini could do, he could've offered him the ridiculous wages and paid Raiola but we all know there's only one or two clubs that can afford & do that type of business (PSG). I'm not surprised he went there, and to be fair anyone who goes there clearly isn't after 'success' per say, as the league sucks and PSG has no history compared to Bayern, Madrid, ManU, Milan etc.,
Let's close the book, he is a great keeper yes but also a great big headed asshole with the way he dealt with the situation - but it's fine. Not many would pass up millions of dollars in additional income so let's just move forward.
