LOL, I posted without insults 2 clear arguments that many people on MilanMania also keep telling you.

Of course you won't answer, because there's nothing you can answer, except for repeating your old story for 101 time.

Deal? Deal! Okmilan

p.s. the "thick head" remark is so iroooooonic. there's this saying - "we often get annoyed by traits in other people that we see in ourselves".
You nailed it.Devilol
"Defending is part of football... Keep possession 95% if u want... but the score is 2-2... thats it!! Well done milan.. Make serie a proud once again.. Big Grin"
here are Pato's goals in the 2008 season when he was 18.

You guys tell me is this the same Pato that we see today? Sad thing is, he is so much worse and low on confidence. The way he plays today its like he can never be the striker he was at 18.

edit:

and here are his goals in the following season, 08/09

That striker was the complete striker. He was perfect. What the hell happened to him?

Those videos are recommended for those who think Pato is still playing as good as usual. You tell me what you think and I challenge any of you to tell me that he has not regressed.

First goal... second goal... third goal... yeah he lacks confidence and skill alright. Devilol

... yeah ... I looked through the videos again, and his goals from 2011 are muuuuuch better. And remember, they haven't even included his Barca goal in that list.

I have to say that I agree with both of you in a way.

Hitman has got a point, Pato isn't the player we expected him to be by now, and he is too injury prone. That are facts.
In 4 years he did not develop as expected, I would even argue that he didn't improve at all.
He doesn't know how to pass, cross, defend...he is a great striker but it is hard to create play with him....not to mention his decision making....terrible.

BUT, on the other hand, he is one of the best finishers around, and his injuries could be due to his age ( remember Messi used to get injured a lot but in the last 2-3 seasons he plays a lot and keeps being healthy). It is very hard to find a player of his quality. If we sell him, who will play CL?

Finally, the offer probably isn't even real. 50 mil is a lot, and some argue that it will not be invested. Not this year, but this sale would benefit our financial situation, and it would get players for us.

Honestly, I don't know what to think. As Warro said, as long as Milan wins, I'm happy.
Allegri knows what he wants, and how to get the best out of our team. So give him some credit. Also, Galliani knows how to work the market in our favor. After all, we are the kings of the mercato. Smile

You know the dates coincide with certain events happening in Milan.
Ronaldo purchase and subsequent injury, Kaka's departure, Ronaldinho's arrival and subsequent inconsistent form. Arrival of Thiago Silva and Robinho.

I'm guessing that apart from the injuries, his problems may be partially a mental block, or a result of the changes in the attitudes of the Brazilians around him. With Kaka, he played with speed and the willingness to take risks running at defenders up front. The main reason should be obvious: we had a controlling and pressing midfield which could win the ball back easily and start up counter attacks. Pato at the time was not given defensive duties. He wasn't needed in defense.

As the years went on, the more tracking back he had to do to. Ronaldinho's ease of losing the balls in midfield on the dribble. Seedorf, Pirlo and Gattuso's perennial loss of form as they got older. The ineffectiveness of Antonini in defense. Kaka's departure and the loss of an attacking outlet, defenders getting more used to playing against him, and of course Pato's increasing injuries due to his continuous body growth not keeping up with the amount of muscle that he put onto his frame.
These all factor into the equation. It's not just about a player losing the ability to run at defenses suddenly.

More recently, the feeling I get with him on the field is that after two straight years of laying around on the treatment tables, he's semi-unconsciously afraid of getting injured again. That topped with his defensive duties (ones that Allegri emphasizes for ALL his players) is stilting him from making the runs he needs to make, and to improve on his overall play.

He recently mentioned in an interview that Allegri has no dialogue with him. He stated explicitly that with Ancelotti and Leonardo, he was given clear instructions and pointers on how to improve. With Allegri, he is pointed out the problem, but given no help in solving it.
We got the young 'un's. We take out big gunz  Devilcool

Well said! And also now we have Ibrahimovic whom our every attacking move is focused on. Allegri and the whole club seem to be Ibrahimovic' puppets and play only for him to make him look good. It's not easy for other strikers to shine really. Pato needs to play more and be given more responsibility and then he will grow even further and be our warranty for goals for years to come! Hopefully he can stay free of injury for a long time. I liked all the videos of his goals though (yes, even the more recent goals Devilol) and we know what extraordinary capabilities he's got and it's way too early to throw that away at 22.
Cassano is out for 6 more month(goal.com), no need to discuss whether pato will leave or not this winter anymore, let's save this subject for next summer.pato needs to focus on his game and stay out of injuries right now.

We will have half a season to evaluate pato, robinho, cassano and if tevez.
May god with chinese footbball
I see what you guys are saying about how you can't see any improvements in pato, but how can you say he hasnt improved ? we havent got to see a pato whos been in form and got a good run of games with out being injured or benched.. i think hes improved. hes alot stronger, he has the same finishing he used to and the little glimpses we've had of him were an amazing goal against barca and a come back where he scored and showed some fancy foot work .. So really we shouldn't speak to early, if we can get these injury problems behind him you'll see one of the best strikers in the world, let's not get ahead of ourselves and start to judge he's the real golden boy of brazil not neymar

i say we just drop the pato subject, and see how things go. as far as tevez i really hope we sign him because i think he'll add another dimension to our team, sort of like a kaka dimension. making fast runs at the defence and providing that killer pass we soo much lack, ibra has good assists but hes more of our pure striker, he tracks back and all but we can't rely on someone to score so many goals and play make and do this and that, theres only one player capable and thats messi to be honest. With tevez we'll be more lethal on the counter attack, we'll have a lot of options letting ibra robinho pato rest for a couple of games before big occasions in the CL, and we'll have him all ready for CL next year. how i see it tevez will regain his form this next 6 months, not only that but help win seria a and in some way give some rest to our other players already entered in CL, next season i think we will have ann even better shot at CL, with a new midfielder hopefully and LB, and tevez available and cassano back.. I really hope we sign ganso in this window because we really need some creativity in the midfield, we have a lot of fighting spirit for midfield options we can put boateng, we have nocerino who imo really amazed me and has been a good signing, we have ambrosini and van bommel.

My dream signings, that really are possible by the end of this and upcoming summer mercato would be :

Ganso,De Rossi,a LB even maxwell for that matter just someone at least reliable, and Tevez, possibly even a low key player to be here and there like lopez to replace inzaghi, basically a good poacher, id love to see denis
Tevez in hopefully , but only with the staying of Pato which I think will happen.
We also need those 2 elusive midfielder's . DDR is a popular choice I agree with this but I think he'll stay at Roma regardless of CL football or not.
He may be angling for a last huge 3 or 4 year contract.Naingollan would be a good buy he is a very good player in a mediocure team , but I wouldn't pay more that 12-15 mil for him.Monty maybe Sahin , Afellay although not really what we would need for our new mids.I dont think Ganso is worth the 25 or even 30 mil that Santos will want.
From my recent survey of the press, it seems the Pato - PSG link is not as firm as initially reported.....
*inhales deeply* Ahhhh gotta love the smell of silly season!! Big Grin
I LOVE MILAN
