Summer Mercato 2022
Since we spent all our money on CDK, I am sure that we can expect one more defender to arrive on loan with option to buy, and if we can find midfielder that fit our need and is available on loan with option, we can expect that midfielder. We are not gonna panic buy midfielder, I am pretty sure that if management does not find suitable midfielder, will wait and get one next transfer window. They will stick to what they have at disposal and wait for suitable player profile.

Renewals with Leao and Bennacer is what really worries me. We can not afford they leave for free or for peanuts.

Agreed with what you said, we bought Adil and bring back Pobega and people are crying for more so why bother keeping so many players if we have no intention of ever giving them a chance to play. Tonali and Bennacer are the first choice and Pobega/Adli will come in to get some game time especially against the smaller team. I am glad we didn't get Sanches, Adli will get the chance to shine this season.

Gabbia look good during preseason so it's not the end of the world if we keep him as 4th choice. If we can get another CB then he can go on loan else he will stay.
I really like Gabbia. I think he would be good for Serie a rotation. He is not ready for CL. However, he can give Kalulu or Tomori a rest in preparation.

If we really only have like 10mil left, it’s pretty alarming. I mean we won Serie a. I’m not saying 100+ mil transfer summer, but not even 50?! That’s really worrying me about this projects longevity.

Part of the issue could be the ownership transition. Old owner and new owner are still transitioning, and nobody can just pump a bunch of cash into the team because of it.

Even with 10m, there are creative ways to structure deals that can delay the cash payment in future years. We can always do paid loan with obligation if we want to, for example.

35 + 10 is 45, not far from 50, btw do we have a good talent from primavera to fill in the defensive part? like LB and CB?

Who is the 10M?  I don't think Messias and Florenzi count in this  budget and if they do that's 7M.

As for Primavera,  I think not. Nsiala, Heffernan (CB's) probably not ready. Coubis(RB) but we're covered at RB.

Midfielders most likely are Robotti and Di Gesu don't seem to of come along. Both are 20, so if they're not ready now then when ?
As I mentioned the other day, I don't understand how we only have €10M left when we offered €15M to Lille. And that was separate to what was already happening with De Ketelaere.

he said we only have 10 left, and from the news we spent cdk around 35
Maybe we never completed Sanchez because the CDK deal was taking shape so we needed that extra few mil as he was our primary target? Also, we actually prob had 50mil if you count Messias loan obligation.

I’m jus staying, 50mil is what you would expect from making top four. I’d shudder to imagine this mercato had we not won the league. I kind of buy the ownership transition theory, but if everyone’s goal is self sufficiency then they shouldn’t be playing with mercato money. It’s a paltry 10-20mil relative to a billion dollar deal. You can’t be self sufficient on a big level that Milan wants to be again with such low transfer figures.

Great, now I think I’m starting to feed into Rezas pessimism about this mercato.

Devilol

I am not sure why transition should affect overall budget much. One thing was for sure Cardinale wasn't wasn't talking about some 'long term' future, the aim looked faster and I stand by saying CL is not a low/medium budget thing despite what Villarreal did for example. Unless there are some unknown issues I have a hard time believing we can only afford 45 or 50 or so. Of course compare us to other Serie A and say 50 million is a lot, but it doesn't feel right to me ... but I am not a financial expert so who cares really Big Grin
