A pasalic career? Hasnt he outgrown Pasalic already? Its not even close. He had been Atalanta’s best player this season. And this in his first season there, this is only the beginning for him.

Pasalic has been one of Atalanta's most consistent performers for years now. Even this season, which is not a big one for him in terms of stats, he has 7 goals and 7 assists. CDK is on 13 and 9. In 21/22 Pasalic had 14/9 season with Atalanta also playing in the CL. In 19/20 he again had a double digit goal season with 12/7. In other seasons he's been very consistent and has scored 7/8 goals with about the same number of assists. So I am talking across his career there. NOT just 1 season. Again, I was also only making a comparison. Was trying to say that I don't see CDK being a massive world class star....and as such, imo, he's likely to have a Pasalic type career at Atalanta.....where he does well for them, is consistent for them. But stepping away from there and playing for Milan is a different thing. In terms of CDK being their best player this yea.....no way. As a reminder, he scored a goal on his debut in Serie A, and then didn't score again until mid-December. There was a long stretch there where everyone thought Atalanta was just going to send him back at the end of the season becaue he was struggling. So never mind the stats, he didnt have a very good fist 6 months there. He drastically improved in 2024, but there are others that have a much bigger case for a player of the year. One being Koopmeiners who's had an absolute world class season from midfield this year. Lookman is another one, who actually has stats identical to CDK in Serie A but had been more consistent throughout the season.

CDK seems to be a delicate flower. As said above, he got more than a fair share of chances to show what he knows. He didn't used not a single one of those chances to his advances. Yes, all conditions might not be in his full favor, but come on... you have to show some adaptability skills. He showed none.
He's one of those who can play only if entire environment is perfect for him. You know , right position, tactics, corresponding teammates, right weather conditions, venus in conjunction with saturn etc. F that, that's not Milan material anyway, so good luck to him elsewhere...

I agree. Best of luck to him, nothing else to say. Seems like a good kid, but not Milan material.

I think there are several moments that if he scored there things would have turned out differently. that doesn't contradict what you said, a more arrogant player is not as affected by missing chances.

CDK reminds of Gourcuff. Talented player who could flourish in the supportive environment. But put him in the demanding situation and he'll fail.
I remember how some in this forum thought we let Gorky go cheaply when he won Ligue One and player of the year. He made a step up joining Lyon but never reach the height of his year with Bordeaux. Time is still on CDK's side though and I sincerely hope he can realize his potential.

To completely lose confidence based on few "misfortunes" or bad performances is also a bad trait. Just look at Leao for example, he can miss 5 120% scoring opportunities, than he'll put smile on his face, make some genius move 10 minutes later and score. It's just that he is way too nonchalant, so he could be a little less not affected by misses
