Kerkez was bought as a talent but hardly played and was sold for circa 2m, 5m was then spent to buy FBT who played a handful of games before being loaned and now stuck with. Then another 5m was used to buy Terraciano who has simply disappeared. Circa 5m was spent on purchasing Jimenez who may or may not play. Florenzi also still here and has played LB. Utterly ridiculous.

And now add Simic sold for a mega 3m with 20% sell on clause. Pathetic.

Pavlovic is excactly that kind of defender we need. A bad boy who defends with every body part and with extreme aerial ability. I wonder if Fonseca will try with 3-4-3 with Thiaw- Tomori- Pavlovic, or a regular 4-3-3 with Pavlovic- Tomori. I wonder if Fonseca actually will focus on Thiaw. He has a lot higher ceiling. The problem is the lack of speed with a Thiaw- Pavlovic partnership.

If we finish the mercato with Morata, Fofana, Pavlovic and Fullkrug we should be pretty happy.

Colombo, now 22, going out on yet another loan - this time to Empoli. Either keep him or sell as unfair on Colombo who wasted a good part of his career bouncing around on endless loans.

I'm a huge fan of Colombo,  If he played for a team like atalanta,  he'd be scoring minimum 10 goals. Poor kid won't get the chance from Milan because we don't take chances on youth. Imagine dollaruma never getting a chance. I can almost say with 100% certainty he would be a mid tier  team all his career.

Different cases. Rafa Marin comes from a good season where he was a regular at Alaves who finished 10th in La Liga playing 33 matches. He probably also had more than 1 year left on his contract (haven't checked, but if not I don't think Real Madrid would be able to negotiate a buy back clause). He is 3 years older and probably more ready for first team football. Napoli have more money than Anderlecht. Also, if Anderlecht was the best option out there for him, were they the only team interested?

It's not about Simic in particular. There is only one solution for a team bargain hunting or acting like bargain hunting. Build from the youth up. Even Chelsea/Arsenal who don't need cash are one of the youngest teams. Youth can work and in our case needs to work. We can't go on years and years waiting for a functional youth system, even with Futuro* now this doesn't change.

*Serie C is probably not the foundation of a proper youth system any way, but at least it is better than sending those players to Ascoli or wherever.
