Milan look stronger, according to recent form:
------------------------------------Mike-------------------------------------
--Walker(Jimenez)---Gab/Tomo------Thiaw/Pav---Theo(Jimenez)--
----------Tiji(Musah)-------------------------Fofana(Bondo)-------------
--Pulisic(Chuk)-------------Tiji/Felix(RLC)----------------Leao(Sottil)--
----------------------------Gimenez(Abraham)----------------------------
And the squad look deeper, too.
Our squad list on the official website is updated with all transfers except Joao Felix. Problems?
I like the fact that we actually didn't bury our head in the sand and pretended everything is fine and went out aggressively to try and address some of our issues. That being said, having to integrate this many new players in the middle of a season with a new coach is rarely a recipe for success. I sure hope Conceicao has some magic in his veins to get it all together quickly
Too many new players in the winter transfer window is not good and this means that the management did not choose players well last summer.
What I don't particularly like is that even the older players who are standard in the starting eleven are not secure and they can be sold. Someone is playing seriously and this is not serious first team planning. Bringing a player in the summer, then the decision to sell after a few months speaks of the seriousness of the management. What player will want to come when he knows there's a big chance he'll be sold if he plays a few bad games. Building a good team takes patience and time, and this administration shows the opposite.
Another thing, selling players who are standard in the first eleven to direct competitors is an idiotic move, so even amateurs don't do it. And that they didn't provide a replacement for that player, really thoughtless. Children would do it better. Instead of preserving the backbone of the team and gradually improving, we have total chaos that shows itself on the field.
The winter mercato should only be used to address season ending injuries or putting finishing touches on the squad. The summer is when this kind of business should be done. They have improved on paper but I don’t think they’ll get the cohesion in time in order to get that CL spot. Prove me wrong Milan!

Okafor and Bennacer were very injury prone so have been replaced. Morata was a major disappointment so was replaced. I guess most of our transfers fall under your categories in a way.
But yes, especially since there were so many it will be interesting to see if or how long it takes to work out.
We invested quite a bit. I'd say a lot been gambled on gimenez being a success.

Invested what? "Original transfer budget" of 20M we tried to splash on Gimenez? Then sold Morata for 14M (6+8) used to increase offer and buy Gimenez. Felix costed us 2M, Sottil 1M and Bondo 10M. Add loan fees we got for Bennacer, Calabria etc... Plus we got rid off heavy salaries of Morata and Bennacer (8M and 7M), Calabria was at 4M as well and that's it. Felix incoming salary at 6M, Gimenez was 1,7M at Feyenord ( I doubt we quadrupled his salary or something like that), similar for Sottil and Bondo. We are at 0, maybe even in slight plus. Not saying it's bad, just there was no serious investments.
Apart from Gimenez, all signings are cats in the bags, so let's hope they'll turn out to be good, at least most of them.
Avaiting for arrival of exorcist into our boardroom.

From football Italia: " Milan signed five new players, including Kyle Walker, Santiago Gimenez and Joao Felix, spending €48.5m."
We have not sold Morata. Also Felix wage easily make up for the wages of players that left.

Morata is sold. 6M now plus 8M obligation at the end of loan. We just don't get al the money now but it's guaranteed income.
From 48,5M deduct 20M of transfer budget, rest is retained with earnings/reduced expenses. It sounds "bombastic" when they put 50M in the headline, but when you look into it, it's not pure investment. More than a half of it is reinvestment from money generated through sales/salary reductions. Not a dime was invested more than initially planned amount.
I am indeed bad in math, but players which left: Morata 8M, Bennacer 7M, Calabria 4M, Okafor 2,5. That's 21,5M. How can Felix's salary make up for that? Rashford have 20M salary, not Felix.
