At the end,  why not get both? Freebies, no transfer fee, so can "cover" if they require a little higher salary. Surely better and cheaper than buying another RLC who will contribute nothing for 30M+6M 5 years salary.  They also bring experience from which younger players can and will learn. Those poor Musah and Bunga-Bunga have nothing to learn from RLC & comrades. From SMS and Verratti - yes. Keep Raindeer and those 5 are more than solid midfield. Fofana and RLC we can sell and invest into striker.

I think SMS has huge talent. Physical and can run a midfield, while also almost impossible to mark in the box. That's a real weapon from modfield. But man...it REALLY bothers me when I see unfit professional footballers. It's the ONE thing they can control. Get fit ffs. Eat right. Take care of your body. But whatever....you are right. I'd still take him because he's twice the footballer RLC is, even unfit. Lol

I agree btw. I'd jump on the opportunity to get both SMS and Verratti. I wouldn't sell Fofana though. I think he'd be good as the box-box runner/disruptor. We don't need a huge squad next year since it's only 1 competition basically. But we still need options.

It looks like we'll be getting the Algerian Prince back from Marseille. Pobega will be back also. And we've already purchased Bondo.  Wallbang
So much time deal with. So many players that simply should not be here but we can't seem to get rid of them.
If only... Gerry isn't "afraid" to invest 150M...
Buy Tonali, sign SMS and Verratti for free... It should be enough to put "restless" (Raindeer and Pulisic) back to peace...
Tonali, Raindeer, SMS, Verratti... that's not bad midfield... decide who stays with them, Musah or Fofana, another one sell with RLC, I guess we can get 50M for both... keep Bunga or loan him out... two returning prodigal sons sell for 5M each or just dry loan them, to get them off payroll until their contracts runs out.
Rest of the investment + those sales should be enough to bring us striker and RB... and some spare cash to tinker around CB's... sell whoever of them and upgrade...
Sign David for free... X striker, David, Gimenez... integrate Carmada, release Jovic, ship "Tammy" back.
No need to sell anyone else, in order not to do complete starting 11 overhaul...
Not top team, but admirable... we don't even need new coach. Conceicao blindfolded can walk back into CL with it... maybe even more, depends on "unpredictable circumstances" and how rivals will look like.

Look at all of you dreaming about the next season... Icon_lol2 I am just preparing myself for an even darker future. Big Grin Grinundwech

How close are we to Tare? I read that he would be determined to keep Liberari.
Of course he would... determined to keep him in Futuro and then, for his 25th birthday, to give him "luxurious gift" - to play 5 minutes in senior game.

Sky: Vincenzo Italiano is the man Milan want as their next head coach, but Thiago Motta has reportedly emerged as an alternative.
I would check out the availability for Kean. He has been fantastic this year. He creates all types of troubles for the opponent, and if he could be a little better in front of the goal he could be an elite striker.

I would also pick up Dodo. He is a perfect fit in a 3-5-2 og 3-4-3.

Get rid of Leao, Theo, Tomori, Chuky, RLC, Abraham, and all other deadmeat. I would say we could get aprox 150-200 million to get rid of acid in this team. Reijnders must stay. Hope Tare could convince him. On the other side if the figures of 90/100 million euros is true i could understand if we sell. Love the guy, but all the goals disguise his flaws a bit..

Reinvest in: Kean, Dodo, Doye, Lucumi, and a really good DM.

Possible line up in a 3-5-2: Maignan- Thiaw- Lucumi- Pavlovic- Dodo- Reijnders- Fofana- New DM- Ndoye- Kean- Gimenez.

Fantastic physic in defence. We will be dangerous as hell on dead balls, Lots of speed and grinta on the flanks. Ndoye is playing more forward in Bologna, but he has the defensive abiliites to play in a formation like this. Kean has all the movement, and Gimenez is the poacher. With a true DM, Fofana and Reijnders could pour forward with speed and creativity.

If we somehow raised 150-200 million. That money would go straight to Elliott via Cardinale to continue to pay off the debt. We’d get maybe 20 million. Then I would say Reijinders would also get sold at that point and we’d get another 20. So we raise 300 million from player sales and they only invest 40 back into the squad. That’s the Gerry way
Our net spend hasn't been bad, has it? It's the wrong decisions, sales, transfers, all basically.

Exactly. Since the Scudetto almost every single decision made by management has been a bad one. The only thing higher net spend would lead to is even worse mistakes.
Agreed. I think the biggest mistake was made with th3 coaching decisions. I really think the squad that was built wasn't aligned with the style of coach(es) that we chose. This is not a squad built for possession football....yet we hired a possession style coach (Fonseca), who was willing to die on that (possession) hill. We then gave him a few players he asked for, and thay backfired big time.

But also in general, we made some wrong decisions. Most notably in the ST and RB positions, while the midfield has turned out a mess. Coming into last summer, we all agreed the biggest needs were CB, RB, CM and ST. They addressed the positions for the most part, but they didn't do it well enough.

CB: Pavlovic took a while, but I think overall speaking, he's been a good signing. Unfortunately, there's been a decline from players that we didn't expect in the backline. Specifically Tomori and Theo, as well as Thiaw being Thiaw (not really improved at all). Overall, I'm not going to blame the management for the moves they made in this position. Could have been better, but lessons learned. Get CBs from Serie A going forward, even if, I think Pavlovic will come good.

RB: Disaster! They made the choice of Emerson, and he's been atrocious. They then tried to sell him mid-year and he got injured. They tried to fix the situation with an expensive loan for Walker, which has also backfired and has been a waste of money.

CM: Fofana. Neither here nor there. Decent player, but didn't solve our biggest needs. They banked on th3 fact that Bennacer was going to be fit and get back to form....but it didn't happen and we've been left really thin in the middle yet again. They misjudged the situation big time. The midfield currently is a dysfunctional mess, with only 1 player that's really performing up to standard consistently (Reijnders).

ST: another disaster with Morata. Sure, he came off a good Euro perfoance...but he wasn't what we needed. We needed a goal scorer. Instead, Morata spends more time in the midfield rather than in the box. They tried to fix the situation with Gimenez, but too little too late. Im not even gonna go into the Jovic mess, where they gave him an extension and then tried to sell him 2 weeks later.

All in all, I think they relied on Fonseca's demands too much. That's the thin line you walk when you try to give a coach players he wants. Rumors were that Emerson and Morata were Fonseca's demands. It makes sense, because they tried to get rid of them as soon as they fired Fonseca. In the winter market, they did the same thing again with Felix and Conceicao (probably influenced by Mendes), and thay hasn't worked out as well.
