Missed 15 matches with injury last season.

Did not choose Italian this time either. Hopefully he is the best of the linked players at least. Don't know him too well.
So much for an “Italian Milan”. I knew they wouldn’t go with Leoni because he’s too expensive and Gerry needs to line his and his investors pockets. Koni doesn’t help with the lists either but well instead get players like Sottil to meet those requirements.

Everytime we met Genoa i was impressed by this guy. He looks like a great talent. Proven, leadertype of player and both Inter and Juventus was interested. This could be a bargain deal. I like Leoni, but i totally understand that Tare dont want to splash 40 million euros for a boy with just a dozen Serie A matches in his pocket.

I trust in Tare. Lets see how this will go.

PS: De Winter is used to a back three, so maybe Allegri will play 3 at the back regulary?
Galliani about to join and back to signing nobodies from Genoa.

Good times.
Koni De Winter to Milan : Here we go!
- Fabrizio Romano

Deal worth €20m.
If we're playing with 3 CDs this season, like we have in most friendlies, we will need one more CD. 4 isn't enough for 3 places... I would not trust Bartesaghi, Terracciano or Coubis for that role now.
If he turns out to be half the defender Kompany was I’ll be happy. I hope we sign 1 more defender though and preferably an Italian one.

Looking at his stats though, he wasn’t very good. Aerial duals were his best. Progressive passes and progressive carries were in the 26 percentile, tackles 39, blocks 2, interceptions 47. He needs to greatly improve in order to be worth anything
I think 3 midfielders is the key.

2 or 3 CBs will be used situationally.

This preseason we said goodbye to all CFs bar Gimenez who only played the last match, while Pulisic needs time to rest, so fielding 2 wingers & 1 CF is unsuitable, so Allegri switched to 2 FWs and 3 CBs in 3-5-2 formation. If we can get Hojlund or Vlahovic and the attackers are all healthy, 3 CBs will happen less, IMO.

He does help with "the lists". He's been in Italy since 2018 (he was 16). He moved to Juve's U17 at that time. He's considered a home grown player.
