silva -> dede? or astori? (although i dont rate astori and dede that high right now)
boateng -> strootman? or hamsik?
cassano -> jovetic or g.rossi
robinho -> pazzini or paloschi (different type than robinho i know)

I think we have a chance for a better future possibly but for next season I think we are screwed.
Lol, finally some pessimism from our resident Optimist
Unless Berlu and Uncle Fester plan to lose their jobs, and their lives, I would expect that we will probably make at least two purchases, if not more. Whether these players are "Good" though, remains to be seen. The fans will protest, call for Berlu's head, and then Berlu will probably be forced to spend (like most years). I've come to the idea whereby if our Ultras had made harder protests (like throwing Molotov cocktails at Berlu's home "harder") then perhaps we might have pressured them into not selling.
As things are, buying 2 players will not be enough to replace Ibra and Silva, but what about the real possibility of needing to buy players to replace Cassano, Robinho AND Boateng?
Our moves in the market have raised even more problems than solutions and the fallout from the sales may be long and hard. We might need 5 players minimum, not to replace the quality of what we have, but to replace the physical positions of players. Who are people who can replace the following:
Ibra ------->
T.Silva----->
Boateng------>
Cassano------>
Robinho------>
Suggestions guys?
seeing the "official" next to the deal really made me be pretty pessimistic, I guess it's because it never really hit me that thiago's actually gone until today, made me get into deeper thought and my thoughts are all in that post^ , to be brief; we wont go anywhere next season, and even with the proper investments the next season would be a good chance at schudetto and a possibility of champions league by a stroke of chelsea (in other words luck)
I came to this conclusion because really look. Say we do sign dzeko, other then a league title i'll give city that they played like shit in european competition and thats pretty much due part to being a relatively new team (i mean all new players new philosophy etc).
But now look, dzeko didn't do crap at man city, if i must voice my honest opinion on WHY he did poorly is simply because of what i mentioned above^ a new team, no real leadership no chemistry, this upcoming season even if we sign dzeko hamsik and garay which are all solid additions, we still have no leadership and we are just as new as man city as a team, so the fact that some people say "psg won't win because they still have a lot of work to do" well, other then buying players I beg to differ that we're any different, we lost all our old players, our two superstar players who really were leaders even if they can be replaced (mainly ibra) oh well, let's just see how everything goes imo we're doomed for next year, a schudetto is in our reach but if i had to honestly predict our position in the table at the end of next season i'd say top 3.
Forget Silva, we can have this A class backline:
Abate Astori Acerbi Antonini
Considering Astori just renewed with Cagliari, he would be the perfect replacement for Silva
http://www.football-italia.net/21149/ast...s-cagliari
I hope we sign both Astori and Dede, filling the hole that Silva is leaving won't be a one-mans task and I could see a rotasjon between Astori/Dede/Acerbi to be good and safe solution.
Ibrahimovic is in a tough place now. He has to choose between a safe club where he is performing excellent and perhaps doing better than ever before, but also a club that is not showing signs of targetting for the Champions League trophee that he so desperately wants and Paris SG, a new project that still is in it's starting face. I hope he stays with us. I love the big guy.
About Udinese, it seems they have a plan with their money and project: http://www.football-italia.net/21158/udi...-more-fans
I think they are a smartly run club who has accepted their position in the hierarchy and rather is planning for the future.

its 1 on 1 changing
not entire squad
beside
how about this
ibra and silva price can cover dzeko + astori
boateng price is around the same with strootman right?
i dont think cassano is gonna go
again robinho price is around the same with pazzini or paloschi
isnt that realistic enough?
how are you guys talking about replacing boateng woth stroorman?? strootman is more defensively oriented and not proven on the same level and we would also be crazy if we consider astori to be a good enough replacement for silva .. the only merit we get from this mega sale is the possibility of signing a good LB like udinese's armero or real madrid's drenthe
Now, assuming the whole team decides to leave after this and following rumors and being realistic…
ibra -> dzeko, tevez, damiao, destro
silva -> astori, rolando (expensive at 15 mln), ogbonna (unlikely)
boateng -> ??? (new rumors surface about Thiago Alcantara), maybe nobody as we already have loads of midfielders
cassano -> g.rossi (~10 mln), maybe nodoby
robinho -> destro, nobody
But I really hope Boateng doesn't leave, because I feel there is no way we can rebuild after that even if we do get a good 20-30 mln for him.

We sold players NOT to reinvest but for financial reasons. So no way we'll get the reinforcements with high price. For example by selling Ibra for 25M, then you have to find his replacement at price range from 0 to 10M. If we sell him and then buy Dzeko for 20M, his selling will be of no use in the first place (we sold Ibra for money but end up in getting only 5M profit and a worse replacement - Dzeko may be having potential but currently nobody could be in a same level with Ibra).
Same if we sell Robinho for 20M, you have to find his replacement in price range of less than 10M at least. If we sell Boateng for 20M, Strootman must be bought for less than 10M.
And sylrus, people are talking up Cassano and Boateng to leave because when rumours about Silva leaving first appear, they spoke of a possibility to leave if Silva leaves.
MILAN! MILAN! SOLO CON TE!
MILAN! MILAN! SEMPRE PER TE!

Exactly. We aren't going to replace our biggest players with equally big players if we sold ours for financial reasons.
That being said, a player like Dzeko might still be realistic even if his price is the same as Ibra's if we consider the wages. The reason we wanted to get rid of Ibra and throw him in the PSG deal was to save on his mammoth wages, I think (if we don't sell him though… ). So as long as Dzeko doesn't want more than his current wage of approx. 6 mln, maybe even accepts less since he is a Milan fan, it would still be the economical choice.
I'm curious how the management will respond to KPBoa, Robi and Cassano asking to leave.
