No, I didn't watch the game. Actually, I only watched the highlight of Luiz's mistake and the report that Ancelotti seemed outraged at him. Anyway, I still feel awful we didn't try to snatch him while he was at Benfica. Now that he is at a "big club" Chelsea, I think he is settled. We can forget about him.

The time to purchase him was after the under-20 WC. It was clear he was special. Last season his price was out of our reach.

still, the problem was just the price last season (I think it was around 20 million?), and we didn't have the money (or didn't want to spend). Now he is in Chelsea, we couldn't get him even if we had the money.

I am just so eager to have Ganso join us now. It seems to slow down nowadays, also, since we have signed Taiwo as non-EU player (Milan decided not to wait for his passport), the only probabability to sign Ganso also would be the Italian FA changes its stupid regulations on non-EU players.

My question is, whether you think he can play a deeper role in midfield, much like Seedorf has done in recent weeks? Given his ability to drive through lines and his direct play to push forward, I somehow get the impression he could do this role, but it really depends on his tactical discipline and workrate.

There's not many wonder kids playing in Brazil nowadays. The best brazilian player is, without a doubt, Ganso. This guy is magical, he has potential to be in the same level of Zidane, no kidding.

Neymar impresses me for his ability to protect the ball even being fisically weak. He is so young, Europe will make him shine in the future.

They are the only players ready for Europe, and for a gigantic Associazione like Milan.

At São Paulo he plays as AMD or at the right in a 4-2-3-1(Mano is giving signals of to use him there, too). But at the last South America under-20 Championship, Brazil new youth team cordinator(and under-20 coach) try in some games Lucas in a 3 man midfield. But I´m not sure if I liked it...

On the bright side, Lucas opened my eyes for a level of workrate that I didn´t know he possessed. I was even more impressed because of his position and age. Usually a #10 takes years to develop that facet... that if he ever develope. But he gave it all on the field and also showed a good level of tactical discipline(considering his age and role).

Having said that, I don´t think what Seedorf is doing now will be good for him. Lucas is more a conductor than a touch guy. Hernanes is a good example of a former AMD with the tools to play in a more deep role(Ganso too), but Lucas is more a Kaka type. In my opinion, to use Lucas there will be a waste of talent. Similar to what Alex Ferguson did with Anderson at United.

Watching Anderson against Shalke at Old Trafford last week brought me memories of that amazing AMD that I watched at Brazil youth NT. The runs, always creating danger near the opponent goal. I remebered how muched I missed that player...

So, I really don´t think it would be good for him. You would take player that could be a 10/10, and at the very best turn him into a 7/10...

Thanks for the reply. It's a question that I've wondered about for a while. I've only ever seen him on the right of 4-2-3-1, but I've noticed he does like to come quite deep at times to start moves, so what I was wondering was how he'd be if he started deep, but was free to move forward to support attacks. One of the reasons I've considered this was he likes to make driving runs through opponents and Allegri likes midfielders who will run through on goal from deep. In a sense, both seem to fit really well.

That said I'm always aware it may not work out based on Zidane as an example. Used in deep areas initially by Juve he wasn't too successful, but when played closer to goal he was unstoppable.

I also read an article that Delio Rossi (Palermo manager) see's Pastore's future being in midfield rather than closer to attack like it is right now. It's interesting how so many players with more attacking characteristics are being tried in deeper roles. Some work out well (Pirlo, Seedorf) while others don't (Zidane and Anderson).

Can´t help with Toloi at this moment, Siregar. My team(Bahia) was promoted back to Serie A and Toloi team relegated to Serie B so, my Brasileirao sky package don´t cover more Serie B. He´s very talented, but any opinion right now would be based on his past and not his actual form. Sorry...

Danilo is a nice promise, but we can do better here. Btw, he´s playing at the midfield more than at the RB position. Imo Wesley(now at Werder) and former Santos was a similar/better option than Danilo in my eyes, but even him was a reach for an EU-spot in my opinion.

I´m a little like a broken record here, but I can´t believe our Board will come here for Danilo and not for Mario Fernandes. A much better option at RB position and is a CB, too. Mario and Dede(CB from Vasco da Gama) have non-Eu purchase potential at the back, and imo Danilo not.

Btw, São Paulo appears to have found a new gem in Brazil under-17 NT #9 Ademilson. Was unknow until Paulistão under-17 this year where he scored 23 goals and earned a call and a starter spot at CF position.

I found strange when I saw this kid as starter at WC under-17 last week since he wasn´t at the team that won South America competition, but just a few minutes later I could see the why of the call. Reminds me of the young Romario...

Now, I´m talking about a kid with ZERO pro experience so, I´m not saying we need to buy him. But if he can keep the Paulista under-17(and Brazil NT first game) form, the sky is the limit for this kid. Really impressive...

I've only ever seen him on the right of 4-2-3-1, but I've noticed he does like to come quite deep at times to start moves, so what I was wondering was how he'd be if he started deep, but was free to move forward to support attacks. One of the reasons I've considered this was he likes to make driving runs through opponents and Allegri likes midfielders who will run through on goal from deep. In a sense, both seem to fit really well.

That said I'm always aware it may not work out based on Zidane as an example. Used in deep areas initially by Juve he wasn't too successful, but when played closer to goal he was unstoppable.

At South America under-20, our coach used Lucas as a second-volante at some games. Thats what impressed me the most for a yound AMD. Kid is also open to do Elano s role at the right side of the mid in a possible 4-3-3 or 4-4-2... his own words.

I understand what you re saying, but Lucas needs to play close to the goal. Guys like Jucilei and Arouca are the ones to make what Allegri wants. I don[ t know if you watched Santos x Penarol final, but after a terrible first-half, Arouca completely changed the curse of the game at the second when his game came back to normal. And I m not only talking about his run past three players to setup Neymar to the first goal.

Can t believe Galliani loved Danilo and not Arouca... What more Arouca can do to earn a call from Menezes and offers from Europe is beyond me

Regarding this trend of coaches to realy kills the #10 position, it s realy get on my nerves. Pastore is a #10 and needs to play there. The kill of the #10 position is bad for the game. I m glad Milan has the trequartista role on DNA...

Thanks for the reply brasileiro, it's always a pleasure reading your posts. Arouca looks good, and personally I agree with you about Menenez needing to try some other options. Personally, while I understand and respect his decisions for his midfield, personally, I only really like Ramires of the Brazilian midfield right now. Elano's not a great player, but is versatile and offers experience, especially to clubmates like Ganso and Neymar. Meanwhile, I know you're a fan of Lucas Leiva, but personally I'm still unsure he's the best DM Brazil have right now.

About Lucas Moura playing deeper, well, it was really just a thought that I had, but not necessarily something I'd want to see given his ability higher up the pitch.

Btw, who's Jadson? He played on the right for the national team against Scotland instead of Lucas, which was a shock to me. What I saw didn't really impress me and I had no idea why he played.
