How can you judge Coman off of one game.. I don't understand the hype around the kid? Didn't Niang score in his first Coppa Italia match? Let's wait a bit before we start hyping the guy.
If Berlusconi invests a small sum of about 30m, then it's not impossible to return to a high level in 2-3 years. This team we have now reminds me a lot of the squad Juventus had when Conte first took over and half of their starting line-up was no name players compared to our Ibra/Pato/Ronaldinho/Robinho and eventually Cassano squad that lost the scudetto to that hard working 'nobody' rubentus team. I remember de sciegle was starting for them.. they had Pepe as a winger! Remember that before that year players like Marchisio etc. weren't considered much, and Vidal was considered a good player but nothing crazy, he made his name at juve. much the same way people hold Bonaventura in semi-high regards, good player but we'll have to see how he 'primes' out, coming into his best years. Of course, Vidal became a star, they revitalized Pirlo much the same how we've revitilised De Jongs career, they had absolutely no good strikers - none at all, but a defense with depth and a group of players ready to work their asses off. We have something similar, let's not forget that a big part of defending as a team is understanding each other and working as a unit. We have good defenders when you single them out, they are all strong, relatively experienced at high levels, tall, and some with good speed (Zapata, Rami is alright as well).. They just NEED to learn how to work as a unit.
Let's also not forget that they signed a lot of under the radar players, players that weren't held in high regards but are quality players that came in at a cut price.. Let's be honest, were any of us envious when they signed lichsteiner and caceres? Barzagli? Bonucci? They've all become good players because they worked their asses off under Conte. I think Inzaghi can have the same impact on our team, so yes players that haven't been consistently very good their entire careers like Menez,Torres etc. could find stable ground through working hard and hopefully they get rewarded for it in the end.
This Milan is a work in progress, but we will come out strong trust me. We need to purchase one top quality player in the midfield, even 15-20m would suffice if we make a smart purchase. Then we need a solid defender, someone really stand out, again it's possible with another 15m but it needs to be a smart ,well thought-out purchase.
I believe we are finally going in the right direction, with the stupid exception of having sold Cristante - I didn't understand that much at all. It's good that we've apparently signed Suso, I like what I've seen of him a lot, he seems very talented compared to some of the gambles we've had in recent years like Vergara,solmon and saponara.
