It will be pretty crap if they do a Sampdoria this year. But hearing that Napoli is considering getting Pastore to replace Hamsik is great news on all front.
As for Pato, I think he needs to learn to play with a partner upfront and stay healthy. IF he can improve on those two aspects, he will be unstoppable.

Personally, I want players who will make us competitive on all fronts, even if it means up and coming sides are weakened in the process. Still, if we get players like Hamsik, then these clubs will get plenty of money to continue building their sides. They lose star talents, but can strengthen their squad to ensure they remain competitive and continue to grow.

Agree with you on Pato, he's a phenomenal talent whose career has been hampered by injuries and thus lack of continuity until now.

I have seen Hamsik many times last season and he is a good player, but is he a game changer or world class? I am not convinced.

For 20 million it would be a solid deal. Anything higher than that is ridiculous.

Hamsik for 25m is high, but Napoli don't need to sell him and therefore will inflate the price if anyone wants him. Hamsik can be a game changer and world class with a little more development in a top side (he does it somewhat in Napoli, but playing deeper means he's less likely to), but I do feel him staying at Napoli won't further his growth.

I think we should sign Benfica and Porto's scouts.
No Hamsik, no Fabregas, no Kaka, no Ganso...

Or Arsenal's for that matter. They're among the best IMO when it comes to scouring over the world for cheap, unknown, promising talents. No wonder Zamparini labelled them "pirates".

Anyway, we're linked with Nasri again. I always like him, and although some of you might disagree with me, I think he's more of a left-sided midfielder than a winger. His contract will expire in 2012 so he might not be as expensive as our other target like Hamsik. That said, Fergie was said to be interested in him too. Sadly, I think MU can outbid us if they want to.

Playing the media has it's limits...he may be right if the prices are too high like 25 mil and Cassano for Hamsik but still this thing he does got boring for me long ago.
That would mean yes to Honda, Messi, CR7, Hernanes, And Sanzhez.
I think u really can't say players are too expensive these days. since that's the market. Nobody is forcing the team to sign a 40 mil player who should really be around 20 mil. That's the nature of the transfer market now, u either live with it or move on and sign over 100 youngsters per year and hope that one of them will turn into a great player.
Sadly this is Milan, and Milan is a big club, so unless they stop acting and talking like a big club, they must sign expensive players to stay competitive.
The other thing is, maybe Hamsik is 25 mil plus Cassano, that close to 40 mil in value. If he manages to stay and play effectively in Milan for 8 yrs, that's only 5mil per year. If you ask me, I rather Milan sign someone like Hamsik for the amount now instead of trying to sign bargains at 8 mil evey other year due to them being crap and can't improve the squad.
There is no need to say no way for every player of value.
And always saying the money is too much the tax is better in England and Spain ...Spain yes England no it's the same as Italy 50%.
so no Ganso Cesc Hamsik Pastore Schweinsteiger Bale Nasri..who actually are we looking at.
I think there is someone but I still think it will be a 10 - 15 million player on no more than 1.5-2 million a year.
Santos will hold out for 35 million or more and will get it , Cesc to Barca ..Hamsik over priced sane Pastore same.
If Bale left he'll stay in England .

I think they want to sign someone and soon but dint have the money to pay big and pay a large salary. And saying we until August 31st is crap season will be started and the player coming in will benefit more from pre season training.

They are probably trying to get a great deal , but you will only get a good player then that won't really bring the mid up a lot.

I guess I'm getting frustrated as it takes a couple if months to gel with a new team and system , and we can't afford to wait until oct/nov for a new signing to start to gel.
Anybody could explain to me why you want Cassano out of Milan (either for money or bargaining chip)?
MILAN! MILAN! SOLO CON TE!
MILAN! MILAN! SEMPRE PER TE!
Why do u want him to stay though? Next year is Euro and if Cassano is not being call due to lack of play time, he will moan his way out of Milan. That's not good for a team who is planning to challenge on all fonts.
Cassano is at the moment Italy's best attacker. I somehow don't believe he will be left out of Italy's NT, mostly because there is no competition for his place in the squad.

If, god forbid, one of our main attackers gets injured, we will be left with either Cassano or .... hmmmm... noone else?
How do you want to challenge on all fronts if we don't have any backups for the main attacking line up?

I personally don't even think he will be a backup. I think he will be rotated with the other players.
