Summer Mercato 2011
I think beside signing over 30 players to 1 year contract, Milan should also adopt the idea of not signing players between the age of 20-25, as those are the players with inflated prices. The moment they hit 25 or 26, their prices just drop.
Hey Guys, been awhile as I've been busy. I see some interesting posts here. I also see that not much has happened in transfer market. It's been surprisingly quiet for both Milan and the other European teams.

In terms of Bale, I think he's very promising, but not for us. He's a typical English Winger, a player set up for the 4-4-2. He's not creative, tactical, or someone who can fit in our current lineup. There are two ways to go about building a squad:

Fit the formation to the players you buy (Man City, Real Madrid)
OR
Buy the players you need according to the formation your coach uses (What we do, Barcelona & ManUtd.)

So, therefore, Bale is not an option. He does not fit into Allegri's formation and I find it impossible for him to be bought for that price to play LCM. Ganso, Hernanes, Honda, Hamsik are possible buys as they play up the middle, and are more dynamic. Italian style football is not what you would think of when discussing Bale.

We still have many question marks but what we do know is that we will try to play more wide with Taiwo & Abate, and have a strong dynamic (4) diamond midfield with interchangeable midfielders. Up top, we will rotate the 4 excellent strikers we have and also use Inzaghi in emergencies.

The (4) in the diamond midfield is still yet to be known but the possibles are obviously:
Ganso, Hamsik, Pastore (no chance IMO), Poli, Fabregas, Honda, Hernanes, Danilo
+
Our Current Mid: Boateng, Van Bommel, Gattuso, Ambrosini, Seedorf, Urby, Strasser

because we play
ACM
Pato/Robinho - Ibra

not

Robinho - Pato - Ibra

therefore our discussion is pointless as you look like have no clue about how Allegri's formation in last season work

Ok,since allegri's formation is so unbelievebly rigid in your eyes, I would change my frontline to like this,

pastore(acm)
pato bale

not the original

pastore pato bale

Next time,I'd better pay extra attention to any single spelling in my post.Big Grin

wellll.... Bale as a striker. okay. I'll end my argument here.

Are we here to discuss or what? As far as I know this is a DISCUSSION forum. But if you don't want to discuss fine, I'll stop talking. You calm the fuck down, no need to say anything like that because this is a discussion forum. You may come with better argument than me (finally) and I'm starting to appreciate that, but seeing that you don't want to continue this discussion further, then yeah I'm quit.

Oh no, ElMago! He's true world class! He can do anything! He beat the ONCE best RB in the world TWICE! He can play everywhere in our FLUID formations! He can play LCM, even striker! C'mon ElMago, how can't you see he will be valuable addition for us??? SagrinDevilcool

LOL...LOL...

Since allegri played T silva as DM,and abate very successful as right fullback.why not a left offence initiator role for bale.he played lots of games in that role at spurs.he was once a left fullback, remember!

The major point is the speed of this combination of pato, pastore and bale.what damage they will cause on CL games.and we have proven imbra and robiho for domestic competition.

Guys you have a great debate going, please do not make it personal. Please. Just stick to the topic and the arguments you believe are valid.

I will end my peace post with a quote Big Grin
“ In the end you may disagree sharply, but because you disagree, you want to know exactly what it is you disagreeing with.”

If all debates should end like this, I'm withdrawing. From now on everytime somebody says Bale I'll just ignore it. Okmilan

I have my doubts over Bale too. He has not done anything special to deserve his praise IMO.

Its not coincidental that all clubs are investing in youth. This new FFP system has to be smth real because all the clubs are changing development strategies. Let`s not all believe that Milan is finally investing in youth. I think now thats the only way to survice(especially for Italian clubs, bar Juve).

Also its not coincidental that this time of the transfer period is too quiet. Clubs need to buy now before FFP takes shape. And small clubs owners know that and they work hard on inflating their prices. To me its not normal that this is the top list of valued players right now.

1. Pastore 50 mil
2. Modric 50 mil
3. Bale 45 Mil
4. Neymar 45 mil
5. Sanches 45 mil
6. Ganso 40 mil
7 Aguero 40 mil

And lastly the poor Cesc valued just at 35 mil and the guy is proven world class European and World Champion, captain of Arsenal. better than anybody at the list.

Small clubs are inflating prices...the big clubs are waiting for the last moment so they can negotiate a cut price.

Honestly we are in deep need of midfielders, but if Galliani decides to skip this mercato, I would honestly understand. In that case a loan move for Kaka is not that bad actually.

I have no worries, we will sign 2 GREAT midfielders IMO, maybe one of them in january! But I really believe Silvio and Galliani want to win CL again, they also know we need to invest to achieve that!
