No matter how many people say that, there are people that will disagree with that. I mean, it is so obvious by just using ur eyes, but there are people that like to think they understand football better than the rest of us. They think we are all newbies because our opinions are wrong. They even think I am immature for having my own opinion!
and koyuki, just look at his reply to you, "ok... u happy now?".. I mean, we try to talk to him seriously, and look how immature he is. He just should be added to the ignore list.
Anyway, mk18 seems to be the only person so far in this thread that seems to be disappointed with Pippo today. Pippo was out for almost 2 years, and in his 2nd game back is really dangerous, and he is blaming him we lost, instead of backing him to do better. And he says im immature, and look what he says.
mk18, i dont care if you think u are more mature than me or not, but as you said it, MOST people here agree with me. THE MAJORITY share the same opinion as me. Let me correct that, EVERYONE in this topic shares the opinion with me. mk18, have u even just stopped to think, that maybe, just maybe, your opinion can be inaccurate/incorrect?.. TBH, if the majority of the people have the same opinion, I really think it is you that has a problem in understanding football, and you say you want to become a coach.

We cannot be blamed for not trying and "playing"...we created chances ... had some opportunities and did well in mid-field. I personally felt that Kaka was either having an off day by his standards or was tired...missed passes and missed shots plagued him today. Vieri is getting the play time from Carlo but he has to prove his worth...we need him to score. Pippo who came off a year and half long injury was quite dangerous and his usual pesky self.
a good way to summerize today's game. Contrary to what most people probably think, I saw a good Milan side today for we controlled proceedings out there for most of the 90 min. I think we played dynamic and versatile football up front while managed to be very solid at the back ... the one thing that we missed was that goal that never came :(.
If there is one thing I would have done differently than Carlo this would have been including Gila in place of Inzaghi in the squad for the game. I do believe that Pippo needs more time to find his full fitness and rythm after almost no football for the last 2 years ... I just don't think that he could yet be relied upon 100% even as a substitute in such important CL games. For that matter, I would have preferred to have Gila on the bench today.
Apart from the lack of goal, I think the team has improved a lot and is coming closer and closer to top form namely because we were able to take full control of the game just like old times, create a number of chances, and yet keep it very tight at the back - almost completely uneventful for Dida, in fact.
Don't worry guys - we are almost there.
Forza Milaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaan !!! :diablo: :dcool: :devf:

please do so, my blood level would drop, i honestly cant remember u posting something where i didnt get pissed off after reading it

i would appreciate it if u dont put words in my mouth, it just shows u cant argue...
i never blamed pippo for the draw, im actually not mad that we tied the game, unlike u i wouldnt pass out, were still top and the important thing is that we played well and we were unlucky, as for pippo, if u joined this forum earlier u would know that i never liked him, i appreciate what he did to the club during the CL season, but even back then i never liked his style, i find him to sloppy and wasteful of chances and today was another example, i dont know or care if u seen it or agree, but thats how i think happened and if ur gonna bust my a$$ over this then bite me - this goes out to that other guy who just joined, who name starts with a k or a j i forgot -
and he is blaming him we lost, instead of backing him to do better.
oh yeah, as if u perfect that... ur always backing our players arent ya?!

yeah might i add, that the majority also have ur immature mentality.
and for the record, the majority is not always right... hey wasnt it u who told me in another forward that u dont things for granted anymore?! :hihihi:

Gentlemen.....at the end of the day you are arguing over petty differences of opinion "He played better..no he did.." "Its his fault..no its his fault"...
There are far worse things in life....
such as being a Juventino....
Keep the Peace Gents... :1five:
i support MK18 because he is a Boca fan, so if you get with him you get with me :rocky: :grinser: :d55: :punch: :argue: :r14:
Enough is ENOUGH! I have been reading the forum for more then 5 years now. It is my favorite place, honestly. Lately however, more and more arguments are seen and most of the time they go into something big and unnecessary. I am not gonna judge who is more mature.....I mean are you guys serious? Arguing over who is more mature. Just take it easy and read Billy-Monteral's post. We all support the same side. Lets all express our oppinions and be on the SAME side. So I will ask that you stop the arguing and just let people say their oppinions without calling them idiots, or saying that they don't know anything about football.
As for the game....I was impressed by Milan in the second half. I think we played great, but did not score. Insaghi and Vieri perhaps should have done better. Vieri is probably more at fault because he has been getting the time on the field and has waisted chances.......but i reapeat what i said in the game preview that I think he looks dangerous. He just needs a goal. I am not gonna comment on Insaghi because he has played 45 minutes in like almost 2 years. So if anyone is to blame, then blame Carlo for leaving a fit guy like Gila out of the field. I am not saying, kill Carlo and call for his resignation, but I am simply saying not to blame Insaghi because he is obviously not fit and in form. In the end........how can you be when you have been out for so long.
Calm yourselves down and I do believe there are nice ways to try and prove that you dissagree with someone without arguing like little 10 year olds.

omg we suck so much our finishing is horrible... a draw with PSV at home... we are sinking lower and lower... after a couple of serie a wins i tho we were slowly getting back to our form but i was very wrong... we just dont look like the real milan... i just keep saying i hope we get better i hope we get better but for the last 2 months we havent been getting better at all. there is no way that this milan side will win a trophee this season. What on earth is going on?
However even with that in mind.. Forza milan

It's just the ball just don't get into the net.
But I m dissapointed that we don't managed to win

even if we play the best game in the world if our finishing sucks its all in vain.. if on the other hand we play not so well and create few chances but our finishing is deadly.. we can win.. so finishing is really important... We arent doing so well in our group.. we own our only win to 1 man- Kaka and if it wasnt for him it would be very complicated. Now we are going to eindhoven to win at all costs.. Its not as important as i say on paper but we need to top the group not finish 2nd but top it.. we are still lucky to be 1st as fenerbache drew with shalke 04.. it was a nice game btw without a doubt it was the best game of this matchday. Fenerbache play some very entartaining football as they did very well againts us destroyed psv and now almost beated shalcke if it wasnt for the goalkeepers stupidity.. the turkish visit will be tough and thats why we must win in holland as in turkey anything can happen.
For those who wants to know how all players do in the game:
Dida - Extremely reliable.
Maldini - Experience speaks.
Stam - Huge, tower.
Cafu - not much in the first half, solid in defense, second half more coming up.
Kaladze: Defense well, 2 crosses in the first half but came to nothing.
Pirlo: Seriously not his usual self.
Gattuso: All over the pitch. Did well defensively. Try hard (but again, not to many success) in attack.
SEedorf: Did well in the first half but seems to get tired in the 2nd. Rightly substituted.
Kaka`: tightly marked. Did well overall but fail to shoot (on target) most of the time.
Vieri: Virtually did nothing. A nice header-pass to Kaka and Gattuso.
Sheva: Not as sharp as last few games. Injured.
Inzaghi: Did alright. Hold the ball well but at the end of the day...
Serginho: Good and bad crosses. Not helpful. Vieri and Inzaghi are both tightly marked.
Ancelotti: Tried to sub with SErginho, which is a right choice but again, didn't materialize.
Overall:
GK: Perfect.
Defense: Extremely Solid.
Midfielder: DIsaapointing but they did at least try very hard to create some chances (and they did, for some but not all incidents).
Attack: finishing remains to be an issue.

Great post! After all, we don't support our team by arguing.
Can we offload either Vieri or Inzaghi and get Cassano? Our attack is nothing without Sheva.
Can we offload either Vieri or Inzaghi and get Cassano?
Good idea, we can offload them both. Immagine, having Gila, Kaka and Cassano all 23 year old plus Sheva.
Whiiiiiiiiieeee! :D
Obviously Milan a whole lot better than PSV yesterday. And we were lucky Milan didn't score one out of quite a few good chances (while normally Milan only needs 1 chance) But at the end it's the score that counts. We are very happy with 1 point. THX! :bright:
See you in Eindhoven! Hopefully with a bit more players from our side (although our 17 year old B-junior Aissati played quite ok IMHO).

My observations on the PSV match: Something's is wrong with Milan's formation and style of play - basically, playing without conventional midfield widemen results in over-reliance on the fullbacks to provide width in attack ! By the time the fullbacks join the attack, the opponents already have so many bodies behind the ball that any pass to milan's strikers are easily intercepted ! For those who disagree with me, just witness how beckham has transformed Real Madrid with his pin-point accurate crosses from the flank that have made their counter-attacks lightning quick such that their opponents always get caught out ! Maybe Van Basten should take over and get true wingers instead of Seedorf and Gattuso who run all over the place except on the flanks ! :p286:

Well, I guess there is nothing serious regarding Sheva's injury - it's on the official site.
He would probably miss our next game in Serie A but should be back pretty soon. We could count ourselves lucky on this one, I guess. :)

Excellent point!! Finnaly someone who understands that this formation cant work always.... Only players that can cross in this tipe of central midfield are cafu and kaladze, and they are full backs. Seedorf, gattuso, pirlo are all reacting too slow and passes are not really precise. A player like Joaquim, nedved, camoranesi, jankulovsky.....can do wonders for us. Its time to look at real truth and stop living at the past. This midfielders cant do it anymore. This way we WILL NOT win anything. Flanks need to work perfectly against closed up defences, some strong and dangerous passen are needed , and we cant even cross a decent corner kick.

Yesterday was the type of game that Gila was bought for... This piece was the only lacking yesterday for a GOOD 3-0. That's it!...Period.
Yesterday was just so full of oportunities... it only needed the opportunistic... :hammer:
The problem as I see it, is that our transfer campaign last season was close to useless (So far). Yes we have brought in Jankolovski and Gilardino, but have not used them properly. fair enough Janko has been injured, but I hope to see him become a key member of the team not the squad in the next few weeks. As for Gilardino who has scored 46 goals in 2 seasons, why on earth is he not Sheva's partner from the start of every game. Vieri might prove to be useful, but we need to establish gilardino as a starter. I dont see the logic in dropping a player who has scored in conseutive games, whether or not Vieri is fresh. Afterall Rui was our most in form player pre season but none of us wanted to see Kaka on the bench. Has somebody told Ancelotti that vieri may be useful but his best days are certainly past him while Gilardino represents the future for Milan. There needs to be a pecking order in place where strikers can build a run of games and hopefully some form.
Vogel looks a valuable squad member. When it comes to Gatusso who never took part in the build up, but at least used to destroy. He hasnt really done either consistantly for a long time now. I would love to see a player like Essien next to Pirlowho does what Gatusso and Seedorf both do, but only better.

Actually I liked it a lot how we played yesterday. We launched attacks after every couple of minutes, our passing was quick and precise...the only problem was that we didn't score a goal.
Partly it was because of PSV's defending. Even though they completely gave away initiative in the midfield, their defending near and inside their penalty area was very good. Brazilians Alex and goalkeeper Gomes were both impressive yesterday. But still I would say that we were simply unlucky. We had 25 shots on goal, it happens very rarely that you don't score a goal when you have so many chances (even when they are half-chances like most of ours yesterday).
ah well...
:5horse:
Actually I have not seen the first half, and according to yer comments and other articles on web, I got lucky. We were poor in the first half... something like our players have not slept well at night or smth... :rollani:
Second half was tremendous as it can be tremendous without scoring goals. Iwonder what would have been if Sheva and Gila could play... We needed only a one accurate strike and everything would be all right that night... however...
I was stunned how our players can change during the the break. Carletto must have done somemthing special for them :guw: I saw the fire in our eyes. We werer like hungry wolves, wanted to tore everyone apart... what a strike that was by Kakha. I wonder how fast the ball was flying... anyway...
The best players of our team were San Paolo and Kaka, IMO. The first one has a terrific match. I still can not believe that our capitano is so old. He never make mistakes. He is a lord. :star: Sorryfor lack of words but I do not have any. I am DAZED!
Kaka had good night too. Although it can not be named as one of the best nights because he has not scored. Nonetheless he was the main menace for PSV defence. pity he had not too many partners on attack. All of them were very static or inaccurate. Sheva and Gila was a main loss and crucial reason why we have not won yesterday. And maybe Gomes.

Indeed, it is useless if we have those aquisitions on the bench, or worse yet, in the VIP section of the stadium!
Vogel looks a valuable squad member. When it comes to Gatusso who never took part in the build up, but at least used to destroy. He hasnt really done either consistantly for a long time now. Makes me wonder K77SH C, if we couldnt use Vogel for Gattuso, when, as was the case with PSV, we are clearly dominating a match, but just need another midfielder who can actually complete a pass in the offensive third? :dconf:
All in all, in summary, I think that despite the loss of two points, from all reports, we dominated the match, gave them nothing, no real chances, from either set pieces or via posession, and importantly kept a clean sheet!but, the downside being that:
a) we didnt score
b) Sheva is injured
So, we have improved, we just need poor Carlo to realise that we are paying the wages of a player well beyond his "best buy" date, but unfortunately for the fans, the team, and Carlo, he has to play him, at least every other match, or risk Berlu´s wrath. :moan:
For us to win the UCL, we need a little luck, and got that from the other result in our group. The Fener/Schalke tie was the best thing that could have happened for us, and as such, we still lead the group...
As to formation, I think if we are to play with both Pippo and Vieri (which I hope never happens again) then we need to have Serghino and Cafu both overlapping on the flank, or put Kaka on one wing, so that we can feed crosses to those forwards, who seemingly prefer that sort of service.
FORZA MILAN!!!

On the right I really think we need to look at an Essien like player. Ballack could be good, but we need someone younger. maybe Appiah.
Dont know enough about Vogel to make a judgement, but from what Iv seen he doesnt seem to be a box to box midfielder.
By the way, lads, how serious is Sheva's injury?
I cant remember if I read it on goal or football italia, but they said he will be back for the weekend game. Viera will miss the Milan game too :nana:
:v46: Chicken sh!te Chicken sh!te Chicken sh!te :rotfl:
Will Sandro play? I saw yesterday one PSV player got injury to his finger but he continiued to play, maybe Sandro can do it too.
Milan should have won this one. They had enough chances to score.
Although i think Ancelotti tried too little to secure the win. He should have replaced Stam or Gattuso by Gilardino or Rui Costa i think. Why play with 4 defenders (ok i know that Cafu and Kaladze played as midfielders sometimes but still) and Gattuso in front of defense when PSV only has 1/2 striker ?
Sometimes Ancelotti doesn't take risks enough i think. Because 1 point at home against psv are 2 points lost !
Btw, Seedorf played bad again. He can't play well against dutch teams it seems.
And i say this for already a few years, that Milan NEEDS TRUE WINGERS ! Roberto Donadoni was never replaced ! Serginho is not bad, but very inconsistent. We can't always play with this formation, we need 1 real good winger in the squad ! Chelsea has 3 fantastic wingers (Robben, Wright Phillips and Duff). Joaquin is also a very good wingplayer, as are Camoranesi, Ze Roberto, ... We really need a wing player. But we already need this for years ...
Where the **** is gilardino??????? we spend so much money on him and after all that dilema, he finnaly has gotten his scoring touch n yet we decide to bench him. i agree that vieri shud play to get into form(jus like crespo did). but we shudnt sacrifice important games jus to let vieri play.

again we seem to not know what we want......one day we cry for rotation to give some players rest and keep them fresh...then we cry for others to start all the time......i mean people...can we please decide on what we want .....from what i READ on numberous sites milan we just lacking that little piece of luck...that combined with terrific goal keeping was our downfall.....give me that anyday than us not creating ........not only that no one is even talking about the fact that out "old" defense kept out a very quick and energic psv attacking force.......
But as per custom here in MM we always look for the bad.......our defense is too old, we need a new formation , our transfer campagin was not good, we need a new coach and the list goes on......every match day i read at least one of these comments and in this thread alone i got probably 4 of the 5....
well things could be worse...i could have been born as inter supporter :)

i think trinimans post prety much explains what im gonna say to reffering to point 1
as for 2, i dunno about u but id take yesterdays seedof over any seedorf we saw from lsat season except for his first 3 games! he played nice passes, he controlled the ball and he had 3 or 4 great shots on goal.... i really dont see what he did wrong
what worries me the most is that the coach was satisfied. sure we played alright, but what matters is WINNING i don't want us to loose or draw games and say we are quite happy cuz we performmed. performance doesn't make u lift trophies winning does!
true... so at the end of the season, when we dont have trophies... u can say whatever u want
again we seem to not know what we want......one day we cry for rotation to give some players rest and keep them fresh...then we cry for others to start all the time......i mean people...can we please decide on what we want .....from what i READ on numberous sites milan we just lacking that little piece of luck...that combined with terrific goal keeping was our downfall.....give me that anyday than us not creating ........not only that no one is even talking about the fact that out "old" defense kept out a very quick and energic psv attacking force.......
But as per custom here in MM we always look for the bad.......our defense is too old, we need a new formation , our transfer campagin was not good, we need a new coach and the list goes on......every match day i read at least one of these comments and in this thread alone i got probably 4 of the 5....
well things could be worse...i could have been born as inter supporter :)
if we all fell into line with one opinion this forum would be boring. If others have asked for rotation that doesnt mean everyone else cant ask for certain players to start more. How often is Shev being rested? As for looking for the bad, with all due respect i said the transfer campaign is useles (SO FAR) trying to imply that good would come from it. Also i dont think its unreasonable to want to see more of our star signings.

We played against a PSV version of catenaccio. They (like last year) have a great defence and Goalkepper, and even without penetrating much in PSV box, we managed to create several chances. Of course that wasn´t the best Milan performance, but if we to create these chances of gols against others teams, we will go to make at least two goals...

i think our performance in the 2nd half was by the far our best performance this season.. our first half was pretty appauling (spelling) to tell u the truth..
and i think you're mistaken about seedorf, his last 3 games for Milan were all great.. he is playing really well, and especially his box-to-box passes yesterday, and his link-up with Kaka was amazing :).. I think Seedorf is a very important player for us, and if he keeps us this consistently we can go far.. Just hope our players can all hit form.. I also hope this minor knock that Sheva received will not affect his form.. As for Gila, he started finding his form, and when he does, I do not think even he can stop himself from scoring! Pippo? Damn I wish he can return to his top form from the 02/03 season.. Vieri? I do wish he hits top form, but im afraid that will not be good enough for us..
As for wingers, I think we have 2 great wingers in Cafu and Jankulovski.. True that Cafu isn't running that much anymore, but im sure he will eventually.. but I do not know if he can keep on running beyond this season.. as for Jankulovski, he proved himself in Czech Republic and in Udinese.. he is great on the left, i just hope Ancelotti gives him his chances to shine, Marek will not let us down..

I attribute this 180 deg turn to the fact that he was finally able to actually watch the game ;) .
Forza Milan !!!
Will Sandro play? I saw yesterday one PSV player got injury to his finger but he continiued to play, maybe Sandro can do it too.
The PSV player (Ooijer) actually broke his finger. And he will probably play this sunday vs Ajax also. They'll probably fixate the finger somehow.

i've read some reviews on dutch websites and papers, and they all agreed that Seedorf didn't play well. Ok, he had some good actions, but a lot of bad passes (and 1 big opportunity wasted) also. I like a Seedorf who is in good shape but my opinion (and not only mine) is that Clarence had a less good game against psv.
And i still have the opinion (and i have this opinion for years) that Milan misses 1 true winger.

yeah but he has started to play good though in serie a
true... so at the end of the season, when we dont have trophies... u can say whatever u want
i think ur forgetting that we ended trophyless last season.... unless u count the super cup...the super cup isn't something to be proud of.

yes, that's it - we just needed luck to score from one of the many long range pot shots we created :D PSV came for a draw and got it. Simple as that -- our performance wasn't great.
funny how i heard it was that whenever we had a good chance on goal the keeper was there.....i mean give all credit to the keeper and all....but you cannot tell me that luck plays no part in football....we made our luck....we just never capitolised on it

i was joking, but i think he is always regular.

yup i agree his always a regular unless he is injured or something
So the game is this week right. I cant wait, we held onto our lead against Juve and now go back to face PSV. We HAVE to win this one.
Gila should definately start this game, he was the best out of the three strikers against Juve. Id like to see Janku play, but Carlo probably wont drop any of the midfield. Surely he could fit in at left back though, unless Maldini is played there to allow Cafu back in. Its pretty cool how we have many options this year.

After a great win against the zebras, we will be going to PSV in vibrant mood.Let's rolled them up :diablo: . If we could continue with this momentum, no otehr team have a chance against us, not even barca or chelsea. :)
