i saw it is 1-0 with Pirlo on the score sheet, well, thanks
kaka missed an equally easier chance after a cross from Ambro ... so, who will be first to bash him now?
Drucurl, maybe ;)
Milan is controlling the game very nicely ... it would be a shame if we don't get a comfortable win today.
THAT STUPID TALENTLESS KAKA SHOULD BE SOLD TO JUVE!! Kaka is a coward!! Not like handsome Pirlo who has real guts
Happy now Zlat? :D

i dont care what the Dida lovers say he cost us this match we deserved to win Dida sux bigtime and we keep on digging him out!
I don't think anyone can deny that Ancelotti banished players to the bench (Laursen for example) for much less than this. The way Dida reacted to Van Buyten's foot/shot on the first goal was very poor, second one went in too easily
I always thought Mzk was right...and it was like 2 seconds remaining or no seconds at all...soo annoyed

03-04-2007, 15:39
So we need to win by at least 0-2 in Munich?
What? Any win will do. Where did you get your thoughts though?
No we just need a "simple" 0 - 1 victory or any victory or a 3-3 ++ draw as well at Munchen and we'll be fine
DDDDDDIIIIIIIIIDDDDDDDDAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
gotta go!
zlatanov
03-04-2007, 15:39
well ... we need nothing but a win in Munchen.
Very poor concentration by defense and goalkeeper in the last 15 min of the game as both goals came from straightforward crosses into the PA.
Oddo didn't clear it well for the first goal - with Dida and Nesta not doing their best either.
The second goal however had a lot to do with poor defending a simple cross combined with poor goalkeeping from DIda who failed to cover his goal from such an acute angle.
Dr Milano
03-04-2007, 15:39
:irritate:  wtf was dida doing
A DEFENDER squeezed it in between him and the post ... maybe mzk was right all along .... we need a good keeper dida has lost the plot .... get rid of him ...
but on a bright note - theres hardly any today .. but ... milan have to work for it know if we had a big lead we blow them easily .. and also that 1 goal would be hard to defend ... in the allianz ... but
NOW ITS ADVANTAGE BAYERN
King tiger
03-04-2007, 15:39
arghhhhhhhhhhh
he close his eyes when someone's shooting i really can't understand this guy, how can he let such easy goals but it's not just his fault the defense is to be blamed also
good effort and luck cancelled out in the end
not very convincing by Milan ... but it's been like that all season, hasn't it?
I wouldn't blame Dida alone for the goals conceded ... our defending was just not assured ...
Dunno what was wrong today ... we have played better ...
The guys were just fired up and Kaka had a poor game (versus his usual high standards)
Oddo was disappointing.
No one particularly shone ... I think Nesta/Maldini centre-pairing was just about OK ... but maybe this combination that was untested for the last 4 months was the reason why the whole team seemed NOT to settle calmly
Oh bugger Oh bugger Oh bugger
We need to improve a lot for the return game ... but screw me with a sausage if I can think of how we'll do this precisely ...
Goodbye fellow rossoneri ... and let's hope the next two games (Empoli and Bayern) bring us fewer frustrations!

Do we need another reason to get rid of dida!
The man is utter crap since the firworks incident. 2 goals because of his mistakes.
The coach is also to blame, we are at home we need 2 out and out stikers, what game is he watching.

I watched the match live on TV, I am destroyed. There is no hope, nothing, bull****, Istanbul crap all over again. In München it will be 0-0 or 1-1 max and we're out, anyone thinking otherwise has to send me the stuff he's smoking.
No we just need a "simple" 0 - 1 victory or any victory at Munchen and we'll be fine
Ok, thanks.

we shudnt have even had a 2nd goal.. it was a dive by kaka.. sad sad scoreline even tho we played a good game... we missed so many chances....

On second thought - the PK that gave us the 2-1 lead shouldn't have been given IMO ... so, I can't say a draw was completely undeserved ... what leaves a bad taste is that Bayern's goals came from childish mistakes or rather lack of concentration from defense and GKeeper alike.

2 goals....which CD in our history...has scored da only only two goals for his team in the CL?
The second goal was Dida's fault, he should have blocked that completely. There wasn't even time for a corner. Well, it seemed that their goal was after the added time already anyway.
Too bad Gilardino is out for the second leg. We only have Inzaghi to rely on, and we have to win. It is hard to get 3-3, so let's just try for a win then. :D
Are you guys crazy??? Look at Van Buyten's position when he got the ball.....why was he allowed to shoot so easily?? Of course a near post VOLLEY will get past him from there!!!!!! everytime gila missed i knew it was one of those games. no doubt we will play well in the 2nd leg and go out, just like last year. its just so disapointing.
We're just not good enough. Let's face it. Another disappointing result, and more easy goals against. I can't believe it. It will be really hard in Germany now.
Let's concentrate on being 4th in the league to rescue the season, and some of our pride...
i wud agree on pretty much every game this season, but tonite we were good enuff. thats what makes this result so difficult to swallow, we shud have won 4-1. i dun understand how we cud dominate the whole game n let bayern score in the last second. furthermore, how many chances did bayern have? 2 How many goals did bayern score? 2 Aside for dida whom is clearly playing his way out of our formation, i also think we shud drop seedorf and gila (he cant play anywai, too many cards) for the next game. i think we will squeek thrugh with a 1-0 on a goal by olivera/inzaghi on the 83 minute.
I wonder how Ancelotti can stand seedorf with his ball control in recent matches. Really poor, we could have some more dangerous counter attack. I'm more disappointed with the defence. They play well in most time, but have had 2 big mistakes leading to the goal. Gilardino didn't play well, but I think his goal is on side.
Bayern can count they are lucky tonight.
I don't know whether anyone would agree with me, but I believe that Oddo was the worst player on the pitch today. We should have won the game 2 or 3 to 0, but we just lost control in the last few 15 minutes, and got penalized.
We still can win the away game, though I admit it would be very challenging, but we still can win.
forza milan.
Yes,Oddo was very disappointing. Maybe not good enough for UCL.
Paddy De Nagan
03-04-2007, 15:50
I think the defense as a whole has to acept responsibility. From giving away the free, to ambrosini's soft touch ( he was brilliant otherwise) to Dida at the near post.
But I don't think there's so much to worry about, Bayern are well beatable this season.
I hope Pipo finds his touch to replace the suspended Gila.

Absolutely agree. He and Janku are very bad; Janku is awful today with cross all over his side; then the far post is never tightly marked and led to the two goals.
I mean, is that really that difficult to make some players when you know their only weapons are long-ball?
And, sub-ing Gila, who is going to be suspended next game, with INzaghi? Ancelotti wakes up. Gila is much better than INzaghi right now. (and Gila is not offside and get a yellow card... wonderful)

nonetheless, Dida shouldn't have let that goal in. The angle was so acute, all he needed to do was just standing there, and it would be fine.
We did play a great game tonight, at least for 75 minutes. If not for the bullsh!t refereeing and bad luck, we would have killed the game comfortably. That said, if we will play like tonight, we still can win in the Bayern Munich, or, at least push for a 3-3 draw. :grinser: Too bad Gilardino won't be there, so let's count on Pippo, and who knows maybe Oliveira will finally get to prove his value. :grinser:

I understand your outbursts at Dida and calling our CL season crap and how we're not worthy of the trophy or whatever else your coming up with...because it's all done in the heat of the moment. I can understand that.
I suggest some of us go cool off and come back to write some decent, co-herant comments on the game. No need to start debates before you've let your minds absorb the draw.
A 2-2 draw and suddenly we're not WORTHY TEAM? Are you people kidding me? Well, I'll wait until your cooled off then. We all know what needs to be done. Milan need to step up, fight the odds of playing this Bayern team at home, fight that 2 goal advantage and make do without Gila, as he's suspended for the next one.
what are you on ..... he gave lovely crosses and cleared his lines ... ffs

iam watching ESPNEWS rite now...and everytime on their bottomline scores...it shows milan-byren 2-2
I am really proud of the spirit of our squad. But our defence in the situation in which goal made by Bayern was absolutely poor. The first goal, we had more than 5 players in penalty kick area against 2 bayers players! The second one, we lacked of concentration. Nesta was briliant but he is not a magician, he could not cover all area in defence. Oddo should concentrate more.
I am really mad for what Ancelotti's decision after 60-65 minutes of the play. He didnt change anything. We were superior before the 60-65 min but not after it because our Pirlo, Gattuo and Ambrosini could not always win the ball. Those trio plus the defenders have won the ball so many but it would be useless if Seedorf lost it so often.
The nightmare came again (Deportivo, PSV and Liverpool). Oh Tony29, you are so damn right about Ancelotti's character (after leading).
We have already the spirit to fight in CL but we have also Ancelotti who for me could not manage that spirit.
If in football the players are allowed to use glasses, why they are not allowed to use a rocket? Our Seedorf really needs it!

after abt 55-60 min....we shud have took out seedorf...he played good in the first half..but then like many of us kno ...he slowed down again....and we needed fresh legs.....i hope van gays...2nd goal doesnt turn out to be...like van bommels...against madrid
what are you on ..... he gave lovely crosses and cleared his lines ... ffs
he was one of the best in my view ...... worst - gilardino and dida
Lovely crosses? which ones? Maybe you mean the corner? I havent seen so many lovely crosses from him. Ok he cleared the his lines but what i could see he did it so hurried. Could you see the first goal of bayern? A Worl class player doesnt do mistake in so importan matches.
He is good fullback and better than Cafu especially in defence but for me he is not good enough to play in our first team as right fullback.

frustration is the only feeling I can offer after this result. We did very well in the first half, dominated play well and pressed Bayern superbly.
Unfortunately, the second half was a different game, as we were clearly starting to feel the effect of the first half and kept dropping off. I'm annoyed because it was pretty clear to see during the first half that we couldn't keep up that energy for 90 minutes, and we didn't pace the game well enough to avoid such situations.
The subs imo were made too late. Janku wasn't particularly defending well down the left and Bayern couldn't have asked for more opportunities to cross. Additionally, Ambro or Kaka (who was playing on the left) rarely seemed to be available to support Janku defensively, so Bayern clearly had greater room there. Bringing on Kaladze who is far more solid should have been done at 1-0, as we were playing on the counter at that point anyway. Gourcuff for Seedorf was similar, as Seedorf clearly hadn't been making any impact for 15-20mins at least before going off, which seriously reduced our outlets to relieve pressure.
Offensively I can't say much, as it's typical of this Milan side to get chances to create good offensive move but then waste the chance. Kaka was poor today (with a miss as bad as Gila against Roma), though Lucio deserves credit as he really marked Kaka out well.
Defensively, on the whole we did pretty well if the Bayern goals are discounted. Bayern didn't really get opportunities despite us dropping far deeper than we should have and in the end, schoolboy errors cost goals. If there's one thing defenders should know, it's to keep their man within reach and under control until the danger has completely passed. On both goals we lost our bearings with Van Buyten (a good performance from him) and he scored.
Players:
Dida - Poor on the whole, didn't shut down the angles well enough
Maldini - Fairly good performance, was also fouled on the second goal for Bayern it seemed, but I guess it doesn't matter as we never should have got a penalty.
Nesta - On the whole a good performance, except the marking of Van Buyten, who he lost twice.
Oddo - Worked hard down the flank, probably could have done better on the ball
Janku - Not his best match, as defensively he was inviting too many crosses.
Rino - Worked hard
Pirlo - Good game overall, he scored a nice goal.
Ambro - Dominated well in the first half, seemed to disappear in the second
Seedorf - Pretty much what we've come to expect
Kaka - Very poor by his standards, never seemed to be able to get the better of Lucio
Gila - tried hard, unlucky not to score and yellow carded when offside.
Pippo - Little impact, never really got behind the Bayern defence
Gourcuff - wasn't bad after coming on, but too late
Kaladze - did little
In two weeks time we're going to have to play better. The problem isn't our technical ability, nor workrate, but we HAVE to control our games. This season that has been a massive issue, and it's partly because we're so wasteful when moving forward and also because of silly individual mistakes. The balance in the side just isn't ever right, and the pacing and control of our play isn't there at all.
Still, I think we can beat Bayern. They have talked big a lot lately, and quite frankly I don't think they backed it up at all. We should be confident in our ability and we MUST learn from what happened today.
FORZA MILAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We tied 2-2, big deal ha! Allianz Arena is not some kind of fortress, we can still advance. Pressure is always on the home team, in this ties. I still believe we will advance.
thing is, with Oliviera being pants.. we have no decent striker who can bring us back into a game.. Gila was unlucky, and Inzaghi did nothing..sod Ronaldinho.. get Buffon.. im sick of Dida's mistakes..
A decent striker! I absolutely agree. Inzaghi was a decent striker but he is too od now. Gila is still developing (I hope!!!). Maybe we can give our hope to Ronaldo but he can not play in CL.

I never thought I'd say this. But I envy Liverpool a bit, at least in the Champions League. They have a very limited team, but still they manage great results. They have the necessary will to win and the enthusiasm needed to go all the way. I think we're lacking some of that.
Can't you guys see that our defence is still unable to understand how to defend set pieces??? Why must they always mess us up...The Keeper is supposed to know where to go not the entire defence running around like headless turkeys
Guess Bayern kinda deserved a draw, eventough those 2 goals should've been avoided.Certainly when you know that Van Buyten totally sucks ass!
My evaluation of the starters. :)
Dida : Made 2 mistakes which eventually led to 2 goals. 4.0
Oddo : Bad crosses but good running up and down the flanks. 6.0
Nesta : Solid, needs more match rythm though. 7.0
Maldini : Solid, some small mistakes. 6.5
Janku : Made some mistakes, bad crosses but defensively OK. 5.5
Pirlo : Seen better but some good passes, nice goal. 6.5
Gattuso : Worked hard, solid. 7.5
Seedorf : Bad ball controll,bad passes,slow,tried but could'nt. 5.0
Ambrosini : Pretty solid game. 6.5
Kaka : Nothing too special, good penalty. 5.5
Gilardino : Bad controlls, tried but received a lot of bad passes too. 6.5

Nesta doesn't need to score in the CL...and he doesn't score because he doesn't push up so much and rarely comes up for corners. :)
It's our strikers we should be worried about and this Gila-less situation...and I admit that at first I didn't beleive Pirlo was going for goal, but hey! Golazzo!

Luck wasn't on our side tonight, why the hell we play with one striker when again we're letting in easy goals i don't see the point. We should play with two strikers then we'll have more options in attack and score more goals.
But that's not the only problem, we can't stay concentrated for the whole 90 minutes and that's why we let in two silly goals, we were far better than Bayern but we ourselves are guilty for not winning this game.

Recurring nightmares? Not enough hairgel? ...Too much hairgel? I can't put my finger on it either. :zany:
Well, that was a kick in the teeth wasn't it.
Just general poor play in every area of the game at times, from keeping, marking, defending and taking your chances.
At least one of Ambrosini, Gilardino (both 1st half) and Kaka (2nd half) should have taken their chances, but all 3 opportunities were spurned. Thankfully a lucky penalty has decision kept us in the match.
The less said about Bayern's goals the better, for the first one Nesta was absolutely terrible, just completely nodded off and gave Buyten all the time in the world.
The second one was just a mess and on both instances Dida should have done better.
But we're still in with a chance and we just have to play a near perfect match to get through :nervous:
Can't you guys see that our defence is still unable to understand how to defend set pieces??? Why must they always mess us up...The Keeper is supposed to know where to go not the entire defence running around like headless turkeys

guys....(depressed) <<< we just need to win 1-0 we need to atleast win by a goal...to advance...we had this ...we had it damnit...
we need a win, but we cannot hold the result. I say we go for 3-3 :D
everytime gila missed i knew it was one of those games. no doubt we will play well in the 2nd leg and go out, just like last year. its just so disapointing.
one of those games? U mean one of every game gila plays in? :devf:
And, sub-ing Gila, who is going to be suspended next game, with INzaghi? Ancelotti wakes up. Gila is much better than INzaghi right now. (and Gila is not offside and get a yellow card... wonderful)
dont agree here. gila had a good match? he had good chances maybe... i wish pippo was there instead of him. Cos, oppose to gila, he didnt get even one ball to use.
anyway.. we should kill this game off with 2/3 - 0... but with attack like this and exceptional blunders in the back were on draw. Referee was bad but all in all, the result was in our hands. We must go for like 3 goals in bayern, or maybe last gasp pippo winner. Scoring and trying to hold 1-0 is gonna kill us off for sure... maybe even better that way, since 4th spot aint free to take.

What would you call that penalty decision? It was one of the biggest slices of luck you can get!
Yup, i think so. The german comentator said so often that Milan deserved the 1-0 before the PK. Then after that penaly kick, he said we were lucky for the 2-goals.
'Das is ja lächerlich, lächerlich!', he said after a PK-decision. :)
If that penalty(100 % foul) was a big slice of luck then what about that goal in 52 minute scored by Gila canceled for offside
If that penalty(100 % foul) was a big slice of luck then what about that goal in 52 minute scored by Gila canceled for offside
You need to watch that penalty again from a different angle and then you'll see that Lucio wins the ball first cleanly. It's a great tackle and should only have been a corner.

Well, in that situation Gila position was really difficult to determine. How many replays of that action do you need/see untill you were sure that it was not offside?
From what i saw Kaka was the last one that touched the ball

Jim I think is right in that Lucio touched the ball (I feel more than a little confident he did). However, on the other hand, Gila's goal was fair and instead now he's suspended for the next match.
I'm going to say luck was was both for and against us tonight, or rather poor refereeing was a big feature tonight.
What would you call that penalty decision? It was one of the biggest slices of luck you can get!
well we had a penalty not given in the first half so the referee compensate it with giving it in the second.
we could have scored 4, 5 goals that's why i'm saying we didn't have luck, and Bayern had 2 chances and scored 2 goals they were lucky to score that stupid goals.
the penalty was lucky yes but we deserved it.
Well, in that situation Gila position was really difficult to determine. How many replays of that action do you need/see untill you were sure that it was not offside?
None
Gila was clearly behind the last defender
And that yellow card was just as stupid as the decision to cancel the goal

Again, Lucio got an important touch on the ball, albeit a very very small one.
I'm surprised no one is mentioning the foul on Bayern's second goal, as I'm sure Maldini was getting climbed on.
I wouldn't say it was luck we didn't score 4 or 5 goals Acmir^, i would say it was poor finishing. But that's just the way i see these things.
One thing for sure the Italian players in AC today were very poor.
Apart from Maldini.
Too many players who are passed it.

well yes it's poor finishing but sometimes you need luck like Pirlo's first goal so i would agree with Dev that luck was both for and against us.
I'm not so sure about Lucio touching the ball i will have to see that moment again
None
Gila was clearly behind the last defender

How could you be so sure of determining that off-side position? They were almost in one line. In such situation you have to be in same line with them, it means you have to watch the replay.
So without seeing the reply, I doubt your decision of that off-side case.
I'm surprised no one is mentioning the foul on Bayern's second goal, as I'm sure Maldini was getting climbed on.
i thought that too, but in replay it seemed he jumped between maldini and another one, didnt looked like a foul. The ball was too high anyway, it didnt really matter.

Yes it's a foul.; That Bayern guy actually climbed on two players.
Clips from the game are here http://championsleaguegoals.blogspot.com/

Too many players who are passed it.
:D Nesta, Pirlo, Ambro? Strange opinion for me. They were so little passed-players before around 60 minutes of play. After that, we have to ask Ancelotti why he didn't do any change except Inzaghi. :)
They were almost in one line.
Yes they were ALMOST in one line but Gila was behind that line and as a referee he should take the right decision but he didn't he just f****d us
Jim, you said that Nesta was at fault for the first goal.....but go and watch the replay again.....you'll see that Maldini is caught out of position all the way on the left; which left Nesta alone in the middle with a LATE cover comming from Ambrosini and Pirlo. I'm not blamind Maldini don't get me wrong as he was only helping out on the left side but there is no way that goal was Nesta's fault.
About the game.........all I have to say is........Dida, what the **** are you doing?!?!?! People usually don't like to blame keepers and always say that if the defence didn't mess up, the keeper wouldn't have been exposed. But that's why we have a keeper in the net. To make up for whatever the 10 guys in front of him missed out on..........AND NOT SHUT HIS FREAKIN EYES AND COVER HIS PRESCIOUS FACE! I usually don't burst up on players, but Dida's actions today pissed me off so much that he took away 10 years of my life. Man........if you are getting paid millions.....then you better f*kin put your face in front of the ball and spread your arms wide open!!! And the second goal........don't even get me started. How does the ball SQUIZE right next to Dida. He does this stance...like he is holding a flag after battle instead of putting his body in front of the ball. I am not saying for us to get rid of him...........but he BETTER GET HIS ACT STRAIGHT. He never comes out to meet crosses, he covers his body 'cuz he is scared of the ball, never made one save......I just don't know what to say.
It is true that the defence on those 2 plays wasn't as sharp as they could be, but that's why the keeper is there. If he can only save easy 30 meter shots, then whats the point of having him in the net.
Another thing........why would you(Ancelloti) keep Seedorf in the game for 80+ minutes when the guy is totally lost and looses every single ball. Watever.......I'm so mad I don't want to comment on the rest of the game, I am just praying that we can beat them in Munich!

The difference between the Milan of today and the one not so long ago (pre-calciopoli and bullcrap) is that in the past it would have been 3-0 at half time and Bayern would have defended to not be humiliated. Today's Milan, well we witnessed what happened... I can only pray we get the fourth spot in Seria A and that Berluska will break the bank in the mercato, because if not, next year we're going to even regret todays Milan....
Pireloke,
the differences between Milan today and Milan from last year are mucho more complicated than what you say.
- Line Up: Last year, everybody could have anticipated it.
Dida, Cafu, Nesta, Maldini/Kaladze, Serginho, Pirlo, Gattuso, Seedorf, Kaka', Shevchenko, Gilardino/Inzaghi.
This year, between injuries, suspensions and other reasons, we can't put a consistent line up... today we had to play Nesta and Kaladze, who have been out of competition for months... every game, a new formation in defense...
Now we're down to 2 strikers for the return leg: Pippo and Oliveira... and well, Borriello,
or Aubameyang. When was the last time one of these 4 scored?
Again, Lucio got an important touch on the ball, albeit a very very small one.
I'm surprised no one is mentioning the foul on Bayern's second goal, as I'm sure Maldini was getting climbed on.
I saw that foul too, so I was sure that the referee was going to whistle, instead, they scored.

Borriello is not eligible. Milan didn't include him in the 25-man list. Aubameyang, however, might be able to play, as a B-list player.
Can anyone confirm?

Seedorf was absolutely appauling, worse than everyone. Kaka missed a sitter and made up for it by diving, Gila headed straight to keeper from 2 yards. Sigh.. Maldini also had a bad game but Nesta was good.
OMG Oddo was so bad today. This is the 3rd REALLY bad game for Oddo, and surprise surprise his other 2 bad games were both in the CL against Celtic. His inexperience is costing us dearly.
Seedorf was fine until 75 minutes. Actually, everyone was playing fine until then.
I would think that Ancelotti will keep Gilardino on longer, considering that he is not going to play next leg, and that he probably wouldn't get another yellow today. What's more important, he played well, and Pippo was poor to say the least.
They were almost in one line.
Yes they were ALMOST in one line but Gila was behind that line and as a referee he should take the right decision but he didn't he just f****d us
In very difficult situation like that i can not blame a human! If a sensor failed to register the right decision in such situation, I could blame it!
why would you(Ancelloti) keep Seedorf in the game for 80+ minutes when the guy is totally lost and looses every single ball.
Our midfielders have given so many intercepts to steal the ball but it's just useless because of loosing the ball so many! Is there affair between Seedorf and Ancelotti? How long must we dream that Ancelotti will give more chances to Gourcuff?
For once in five years, I am pessimistic about the game in Germany.
This year, Milan has been poor in terms of keeping a 1-0 or 2-1 win after they scored. In fact, defensive proneness and psychological weakness means that Milan will once again.
For the past 5 years, Milan's greatest enemy is: Milan.
But this year, such enemy is even stronger than before.
I have seen the whole game, and overall Milan is a much stronger side. So what makes it 2-2? It's lack of concentration in defense, as well as the inability to cope with pressure. The second point, in my honest opinion, is more serious. Every year, Milan has been able to cope with the pressure that arises after scoring 1-0 or 2-0 (not 3-0 or 4-1, though), with some swift defense and complete composure.
This year, I see no more. And this is one of the reasons why Milan has been so poor in playing against stronger team (Roma, Inter, and now Bayern).
In fact, I do not believe that either Milan or Bayern can win the champion league this year. Bayern is strong, tall, but their lack of technique will unfortunately fail them, earlier or later. Milan, on the other hand, has been extremely inconsistent and, earlier or later, it is bound to fall.
With the kind of psychological weakness in this team this year (since the beginning of the year with the -8 point), I do not see Milan beating Bayern. In fact, I don't see Milan beating Roma or Man U over the course of two games, should they qualify.
My prediction: Milan, if go through Bayern, will not win in the semi final. But I would say that Milan won't even be able to beat Bayern this year, losing on away goal (1-1 in Munich is my call).
Just my two cents... constructive, thoughtful opinions welcome.
my words exactly. i wrote about not keeping the result here already, and about lack of quality/strategy to win CL on our slovenian forum. We can go over bayern because its a slower team and well beatable even in their league. May be bayern or us, i dont think we both can compare to l'pool or chelsea. Their fast bunny-hoping legs-first-ball-second tactics are gonna be too much to our (or bayerns) older, slower, not in form side.
i was calm alread, but then read eurosports line by line comments:
40' Penalty claim Milan!! But no - spot on decision from the ref as Lucio brings down Kaka and it's a corner.
53' Gilardino gets booked for carrying on and lifting the ball over Rensing after being flagged offside. He claims he didn't hear the whistle, but he's carded and will miss the return leg next week.
83' Penalty Milan!! Shocking decision!! I've not seen a bad call like that for ages! Lucio with a superb tackle on kaka in the box but the Russian ref points to the spot!
84' GOAL MILAN!! Horrible way to take the lead. indescribable how unjust that is. Kaka sends Rensing the wrong way.
i would smash that guy, he put my pressure way over health limit... since i cant smash him, im surely gonna write him or them a complaint. Arrogant a$$holes!
Unbelivieble game, Ancelotti is the one of the worses managers I even seem
Did you all watched what Benitez did on Liverpool in the game against PSV? That really is a good manager
Milan have great players and all we see is a very bad and shameful football
Maybe next game Milan's players will be more inspirated and win the game and that´s what I wish, that´s what this italian team even do to win the game, totally dependent of the individual good quality of the players, never win because Ancelotti do a good job on the team
Ancelotti is like Rikjaard, they are cases do say: Like managers, they are excelent players
I can't help but be +ve about our chances..... We neutralized Makaay and Pizzaro for the WHOLE match.......only in retrospect would it seem like a good idea to stifle DVB. Many here knocking Dida for the goals have never played any competitive sport....otherwise they would have understood the concept of a nearpost shot/pass. Ronaldo uses it alot. The attacking player hits the ball at the near post sometimes to surprise the keeper and limit his mobility/reactions.
That said, Dida SHOULD have done muuuuch better because he is not just any goalkeeper...he keeps for Milan. The same can be said about Gila and Seedorf. I often what has gotten into Seedorf recently?? Ancelotti perhaps :guw: He is sooooooooooooooooooooooo awful to me as a layman......I mean play the ball forward for a change dammit!!!!!!

BMWTaylor...both Janku and Maldini have defended Dida in the post-match quotes. :) I don't think it's fair to single him out for both goals, as few have mentioned here already, the defense and Dida were BOTH at fault. Bayern only had two close range efforts at goal and both proved decisive. *sigh*
Milan didn´t offered a new contract to Dida and Barcelona did a overture
Guys, my heart almost stopped in the 93min..............
Milan's matches in CL are bringing so much stress, pressure and excitement,
Milan deserved a 2-1 win over all.

No bro. Any winning scoreline or a high scoring draw (more than 2-2) sees us through.
1) Dida should be thrown out of this team
2) We will beat Bayern in Germany. We are going to the semis; make no mistake about it.

hassan, u rly think so? i mean really?
i just got back from a pub here in evansville indiana, usa. while travelling, i had to drive over 80 miles and hour, while calling bars in the area to find the game. had to stay for the pens vs sabres game. after reading all the post match posts...all i got to say is...
wtf.
you people here that b1tch and complain after every loss/draw is soo predictable. did you watch the game? who was the better side? yeah milan had a couple defencive breakdowns...and as disappointing as they are... THEY HAPPEN!!! we arent playing some school team. THEY BEAT REAL MADRID TO GET GET TO US, and we DOMINATED THEM. they capitalized on 2 of the few scoring chances they got.
Now i have only watched milan for 3 yrs now, so maybe some of you are used to running over every team you play, and never loosing...or drawing. But i was more excited watching the first half of this game, almost as good as the the 2nd half of the 1st vs inter game this year. if i was a bayern fan, i wouldnt be upset about penalty's but how badly we were out played.
i dont know how you blame a goalie on a free touch on the back post?... most goalies wouldnt of even been there...
I have faith after watching how much we controlled this game, that a victory at bayern is not only possible, but probable.
KEEP THE FAITH...
Don't really know what to say about this... not a bad performance but lack of finishing hurt us. We could have finished them off in the 1st half or at least the beginning of the 2nd. Had that Gila goal not been disallowed it would have been 2-0 and I doubt Bayern could have gotten back into the game. But we got very lucky with the penalty so I'm not going to complain too much.
Pirlo was M.O.M by far, and not just because of the goal. I have not seen him in that form since Germany 06. Return leg is in Germany... more Andrea magic? Oddo, Marek, and Seedorf all hugely disappointing. Dida is starting to get on my nerves, but it wasn't only his fault.
Don't lose hope, it will be tough, but let's not be like Inter fans writing our team off before the 2nd leg. Have faith. Super Pippo will come through one more time. Forza Milan, regardless of what happens in 6 days time :proud:
"One thing I was sure about, was that Milan wouldn't be able to keep up their pace in the second half" the old guy was rite...(byrens coach)
If that means Bayern can then play bad football for 75 minutes, be my guest ;D
Hindsight bias.
********
Anyway, putting inzaghi in for Gila is a bad bad move; that allows Bayern's defensive line to go forward, resulting to an eventual goal. Ancelotti, unfortunately, has to take a huge blame in today's draw.

Milan also performs best when they are the underdog and their backs are against the ropes..i'll keep the little faith i have remaining. i hope we see the real side of our players..many of our players did not show up for the game today like kaka,seedorf,oddo,marek.. but gattuso and pirlo, WOW it was their performances this season..
we really never deserved to lose, but deserving a win doesnt make us go through, dominatin the play means nothin if we can't score.. i hope to see 2 strikers in munich.. kaka cudnt play well in this x-mass tree formation, and neither can Seedorf.. and on to oliveira...i remember how confident oliveira he was when he signed for us and assured us he will perform well and all that CRAP.. he has been utterly useless.. its about time he comes in handy..
pippo MUST play against empoli he isn't match fit at all!! I wish Serginho can play against Munich.. both Serginho and Pippo love playing against Kahn.. oh damn i just forgot that Van Bommel will be returning.. ahhh.. and gilardino suspended..... evrything is going against us!! i prefer it this way, rather than losin a 3-0 lead like what we have seen in recent yrs..

Pireloke,
the differences between Milan today and Milan from last year are mucho more complicated than what you say.
Aubameyang is the most consistant one! :grinser:
I think Oli - Pippo is our best best for the return leg. Gilardino will probably start against Empoli as he can't play next wed. I'm not worried, Milan will find a way to contain Bayern at home while scoring 1 or 2 away goals. FORZA MILAN!
In the past, Milan under Ancelotti could beat anyteam except Milan! In the last five years, I was afraid more against small teams than big teams because it was more sure for Milan to beat big team compre to the small team. The problem of Milan in that time is milan itself. If Milan wanted to win the game, they would win. Now, I am not sure if Milan can beat small teams and I am afraid also if Milan have to face big teams.
In the past, there was no such poor marking from Oddo or no possesion of the ball after leading. How can you do a possesion if Seedorf lost so many ball? Seedorf was great in past, I admit, but now he is just to slow and he still doesnt admit that!
Our fullbacks (Oddo and Jankulovski) are still not good enough for Milan, IMO. It's a very difficult task for them to provide such a nice cross just like Serginho or Cafu did in the past. Yes, Oddo and Jankulovski can defend better than them but Oddo and Jankulovski still made poor mistakes in defending in important matches which the real champions dont do it.
Somehow I just cant believe how I prefer more to use Pancaro than Jankulovski even IMO Pancaro's skill is worse than Jankulovski.

what sort of a Goalkeeper closes his eyes whilst trying to save a shot in the 93rd minute! your asking for trouble.

They were certainley not his first goals for Bayern. Actualy he is known for his scoring of important goals in the last minutes. He is the Ambrosini of Bayern. Sometimes he is even used as a striker in the last minutes.

And with the first goals he jumped towards the ball like a girl :irritate:
