April 3. Nesta and Serginho are set to be back by then and hopefully Gila/Oliveira will eventually find their form.
Last year we eliminated Bayern after playing away and then home. In recent years (ie. in the Ancelotti era) we have struggled in the knock out phase against teams that we play against home first and then away and here's the list of ALL the games we played home first then away:
Milan 4 - 5 Deportivo, Milan 3 - 3 PSV, Milan 0-1 Barca.. Personally I dont like the draw and I dont think Depor or PSV were better than the Bayern we will be playing. What do u guys think?
Anyway, we have a nice plus for the game against Bayern:
* Van Bommel has been suspended for 2 CL games. He will be missed dearly by Bayern. :5ok:

What happened?
What happened?
He got a direct RC against Real Madrid. I think it was him and Diarra who got in a quarrel just before RVN took the penalty and the ref has shown them both a RC.
I really have no idea why was he suspended for 2 matches and not 1. He must have said smthg to the ref on his way out.
I will be majorly surprised if Nesta and Serginho in particular will be ready for this game. I will cross my fingers and hope i am proved wrong :D

van Bommel got 2 YC=1 RC in the second game vs Real at Allianz Arena ... this leads to 1 game suspension automatically.
In the first game vs Real at the Bernabeu, however, he made obscene gestures at the Real M crowd and was handed a 1-year probationary period, during which he was facing a 1-game ban if he repeated an offense of similar type.
So, after his antics during the second game vs Real M, UEFA decided to add one more game to his suspension and thus he will miss both Milan games.

I think they have boh been training with the squad for some time now and Nesta is expected to make it at least on the bench vs Atalanta ... most probably he will even get some playing time too. So, bar any injuries, he should be in pretty good shape - maybe not top form but not far from it either - for the bayern games, the first of which is 3 weeks away.
As for Sergio, I think he is a little behind in the prep compared to nesta, so he will probably be ready for selection i.e be ready to make it to the bench when we will be playing Bayern ... I still doubt however he would be fit enough to start a game by then, most probably that moment is 4-6 weeks away, counted from now.
Zlatanov, I believe Sergio should be ready by the end of the month, which means he will play vs Bayern even against Roma on March 31st

From now on it's kill or be killed, I don't like the second leg away from home though. We have to win the first one at home with 1-0 and imo we'll be fine. And Pippo has to play this one, he is the Bayern killer.
No Van Bommel for both legs for them, great news. And just seeing the 'UCL QF' thread gives me the chills. This is what we live for. If Nesta comes back our defense will be given a huge boost. And if Serginho returns and immedeately regains his 05-06 form, unlikely, I know, we are set in the defense.

Now that is a great news... With Lucio,Van Bommel and Kahn out for suspension,we surly become favorites..and I think we can do it..
Those three together with Shwan. are the most important players...
Its not confirmed yet, but if they are indeed out, even for just one leg, I'm very optimistic.

I personally doubt these two would get suspended ... a suspension of their two best players would create too much unrest in the Bayern camp, especially now that van Bommel is out for sure.
I would expect that they would get fined, scorned and given a warning that should these things happen again, they would face a ban ... anything more than that would be a bit too harsh, I think.

Did Oliver "Hothead" Kahn (aka mzk's best keeper in the world  ) and Lucio refuse outright to take a drug test?
Maybe Lucio has been on something; he's always looked like the Brazilian Frankenstein to me. :)
Hope they all get banned and we whoooooooooooooooop their ass

I read that somewhere else, but at first I thought people made it up just for fun. Now, not that C4 is all reliable though. :D, but it is on the UEFA website too:
http://www.uefa.com/uefa/keytopics/kind=1/newsid=517215.html
I agree with Zlat here, I don't think they will get banned. That would be very harsh for a team like Bayern Munich, even though I guess I really wouldn't mind if it indeed happens.
But then there will definitely be rumors and speculations about Galliani and UEFA. :grinser:
must be indecent exposure. :grinser: they should have pissed with their pants on. :grinser:
Bayern lost today in Frankfurt and they can say Bye Bye to the Bundesliga tittle.
8 rounds before the end Schalke 04 has a 9 pts advantage and if Werder beats Mainz tomorrow they'll have 6 pts advantage.
The only place left to chace is the 3rd one, but Stuttgart is 2 points ahead of Bayern and they don't have European matches to play.
Tough situation Bayern is in. They don't have squad depth to be competitive in CL and Bundesliga and if they concentrate on CL they may easily find themselves out of CL both this and next year.
But on second thought...they are German. They come strongest when noone expects them to do anything.

Is it me or will it end up like last year Struggle away in Munich and scrape a draw then go for it at San Siro and try and hammer as many as we can in? i get that feeling failing that Carlo will play for Penaltys over 2 legs :ilol:

Hitzfeld has said that for him Bayern's race for the title is over but I wouldn't write them off just yet.
My favourite for the title is Werder but with Schalke's notorious inconsistency towards the end of the championship, I wouldn't be surprised if Bayern find an extra gear now that the pressure on them seems to have been eased and steal the shield from Werder's or Schalke's hands, once again.
Anyways, Bayern will probably focus on the Bundesliga now and securing a CL spot, at least, as I really don't see them winning the CL this year.

I heard of it too, damn stupid UEFA.
Kahn, like Van Bommel, will miss the first match in Milano and will be available in Munich.
Lucio will have to pay £4,000 punishment but he can play at San Siro.
and Kahn was just handed one-game ban. Lucio got away with a fine.
then again, in three days, I am sure that it will be annulled again (or halved to 45' :grinser: ) as long as Kahn does appeal. :o

True, he seems to get even more crazy as he gets older though.
Remember his behavior during the 1st leg in Munich last year?
This year he is like that all the time as far as i could see the Bundeslig matches (those are shown now though comcast cable as well as SerieA's, La Liga's).

I find that, with Oliveira gaining some level of improvement, a healthy (God please let him be so) Kaka, and Bonera we have the basic ingredients to overcome Bayern...though in truth, it wont be easy. All they realistically have to play for is the UCL this season, having basically been knocked out of the title race...
I think UEFA´s reduction of Van Bommel´s ban was all too predictable...and shows clearly their anti-Milan bias...can you see one of our players getting any allowances from UEFA? (Hypothetically of course, as we have well behaved players overall).
I am quietly confident that we can beat them, albeit not as easily as we did last term...where we play the first leg is semantic to me, and as professionals, our players shouldnt allow this to offset our game plan.
I just hope that if Carlo opts for 3 DMs, that they play as well as they did in the first half vs Atalanta.
FORZA MIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIILAN!!!
I remember last year when Sheva missed a penalty against Kahn...
Kahn made fun of him... but a few minutes later, Sheva scored a header, and was classy enough NOT to go rub it on Kahn's face, even though he deserved it.

About the game.... it will be hard. I think Milan can make it, but the only thing that bothers me a bit is that they play the first game in San Siro.
O hope this team will play against Bayern Munich :5ok:

Alright guys, this is our next game. Thank god Maldini, Marek and Oddo will be back so we wont see Favalli, Simic and Cafu in defence. That defence wouldn't even pass for Serie B. Since we play home first, and in the Ancelotti era we have struggled really badly when playin knockout phases away in the 2nd leg, I think we should try to really kill them from the first leg. We have to be wary not to conceed any goals because they will hurt. I wish we win by 2 or 3 goals to zero. Then when we score in Bayern they will need 4 or 5 goals.
BAD NEWS:
- We have no strikers on form!! Gila has been bad for a while but had an unusual ok game against Roma even though he missed a sitter
- Pippo hasn't played in a while, who knows if he's match fit
- Oliveira thinks he's playin street football and wants to shoot from kick-off, corner flags, throwins, everywhere..
- Dida's form isnt exactly the one we were hoping it to be
- Maldini has a recurring injury, it might cost us dearly if he gets injured early in the game
- Seedorf plays as slow as ever
- Kaka will have played 4 games in a week (i think?), im afraid of an injury coming around the corner..we are using him far too much..
GOOD NEWS:
- Nesta IS BACK and had a good performance against Roma.
- Kaka is playin well
- Oddo, Janku, Bonera are fresh and should be able to start
- We're playin home first
- We will not see Favalli/Cafu runnin up the flanks for us
- Van Bommel/Kahn suspended (altho i wudda liked it if Kahn played, so Pippo would woop him again)
I'm all in a flumux as to who i would pick for this game. Bayern are strong in midfield, so we know we have to counter that by picking either Ambrosini or Brocchi in place of Seedorf. Given his aerial threat i would plump for Ambrosini.
Subsequently this would mean two people (Gourcuff & Oliveira) fighting it out for the final spot. Purely for the fact he showed more spark in his brief cameo than Oliveira did during his 70 odd minutes, Gourcuff gets my vote.
CB is the only other real concern. Can Nesta play 2 games in such a short space of time? Likewise is Maldini fit enough to go against Bayern?
My team would be: Dida, Jankulovski, Nesta, Bonera, Oddo, Ambrosini, Pirlo, Gattuso, Gourcuff, Kaka, Gilardino
I would hope the solid platform of Ambrosini & Gattuso would push Pirlo forward a bit more. Given Seedorf's creative demise, i'd prefer to see Pirlo 25-35 yards from the opposition goal firing in some shots and playing neat triangle passes with Gourcuff & Kaka rather than sitting really deep trying to hit some long wonder passes that probably won't come off as we don't have the runners.
I also hope Oddo plays like he did against Scotland, at least attacking wise. He was pretty good in that game. Both full-backs will however need to be wary of Schwienstieger, he's the player i fear the most. We need to be alert :d33: and if we do that we have a good chance of keeping a clean sheet.
I also hope Serginho might be fit for a cameo, he always gives Bayern nightmares :grinser:

I would start with that team too with one change though - maldini will most probably be fit for Bayern, so chances are he will start alongside nesta in CD and not Bonera.
Other than that, I think a X-tree at home is the way to go as we keeping a clean sheet is imperative in these tournaments, I think, especially when playing home first.
Not sure however if Nesta would be able to keep up with the same tempo from the Roma game as this would be his second game in 3 days and I am not sure he is fit enough after 3+ months on the sidelines.
have a feeling Sergio will be on the bench :)

I've a very good feeling about this game. I think/hope for an all-Italian semi-final.
What about Bayern ?
They are flying high after the 2:0 win over Schalke yesterday. Now they are only 6 pts behind the first placed team and their chances for winning the league are growing.
2 very important players, Kahn and Van Bommel, won't play at San Siro but there is still enough material to cause problems to Milan.
Rensing will probably replace Kahn
Sagnol at RB and Lahm at LB are almost certain. Maybe they aren't better but they are at least on par with Milan's full backs.
Central defenders may be their weakest link and they may be their best part . That's the way Lucio and Van Buyten play. We've seen many times how dangerous Lucio can be from set pieces and i've seen Van Buyten playing Nesta like many times this season - like a rock, but sometimes he makes bad and costly errors.
Sub. defenders : Ismael, Görlitz, Lell, Hummels - You can see they don't have adequate replacements for their defenders !
Midfielders :
Demichelis will replace Van Bommel and this is where i see Milan's chance. He'll be Kaka's direct guard, he'll have defensive duties and i doubt we'll see him up front a lot, like we would have seen the Dutchman if he wasn't suspended. Even defensive wise i rate him as weaker player than Van Bommel.
Hasan Salihamidzic-Brazzo - The moment Hitzfeld took over Bayern, Brazzo became the good old one. Imo, he's Bayern's best player lately. He rules the right side of the field, assists a lot and even scores. Jankulovski will have many problems with the future Juventino
Owen Hargreaves - shares the same position with Salihamidzic so i don't know what will Hitzfeld decide to do. Hargreaves can play in center midfield also and maybe that's where he'll find himself on Tuesday.
Bastian Schweinsteiger. Hot-Cold performances from him this year. He can be lethal with his long range shots but he can be invisible for 90 minutes and get the worst player award.
Sub. midfielders : Mehmet Scholl - The oldy can still be dangerous. He can't play 90 mins and he always comes as a sub.
Andreas Ottl . Yesterday i saw this guy for the first time in my life and he was a pleasant suprise.
Ali Karimi - nothing special
Stephan Fürstner - i never heard about this guy and i never watched him play
Attack :
Roy Makaay - Another hot-cold guy. But you all know how dangerous and lethal he can be.
Claudio Pizzaro - Superb sub - scores a lot
Lucas Podolski - I never liked him but he has a habbit of scoring against big teams
Roque Santa Cruz - good sub.
You can see Bayern ain't no piece of cake. On a bad day ( which they're having a lot this year, just like Milan) everyone can beat them. But on a good day they are world class.
Lets not forget they've beaten Inter in Milano earlier this year and they would have beaten them again in Munich if Vieira didn't score a 91st minute goal.
I give the advantage to Milan here and i can see Milan in the semis. But it's a small 51-49 advantage.
Bayern is tricky, very very tricky.

nice review Tony :5ok:
I think Bayern will play with these:
Rensing
Sagnol, Lucio, Van Buyten, Lahm
Salihamidzic, Hargreaves, Demichelis, Schweini
Makaay, Podolski
they have some excellent players - as you said, Hassan has been their best player lately - still, the one and only reason why I see them as a dangerous opponent is sitting on the their bench - Ottmar Hitzfeld ... if it wasn't for him, I would be giving a sure win for Milan in this QF tie.

To stay on topic, I think that german peep is right, our CL season will be over in 18 days, and if by a miracle we manage to survive we will be ripped apart by Roma (I pray Man Utd can put them out for our sake) as yesterday's match was only their practice pace...
Thanks for the much needed support Pireloke. What would we do without your words of encouragement ?
Ottmar Hitzfeld ... if it wasn't for him, I would be giving a sure win for Milan in this QF tie.
It's not just Hitzfeld. Another opponent for Milan are Milan's players themselves and the way they're playing this season.
The main 2 factors that made me put Milan as a small favourite ( i became an odds settler for one bookie 20 days ago :) ) are :
1. CL experience. This is very important thing for this competition and everyone who follows CL closely can confirm what i say. It's not decissive in winning the CL itself but in knock-out stages it usually means advantage for the more experienced side.
2. H2H duels. Milan was too much for Bayern on last 4 h2h matches.
Some things i find hard to explain. Bayern can easily beat , lets say Roma, 4 times out of 5. Roma can dominate and beat Milan 4 times out of 5, but Milan always beats Bayern.
The way some team plays is very hard to cope with for some world class teams and rather easy for some weaker teams.
Well, Milan's way of play ( or should i say Ancelotti's tactics) was a nightmare for Bayern.
Not a big factor for my reasoning , but still important, are the h2h duels with Italian teams Bayern had in CL since 1993 : 2 wins- 2 draws- 6 defeats.
With Milan, Bayern has 0wins-1 draw- 3 defeats ( 4:9 goal difference)
Now why i'm not convinced Milan will surely pass Bayern.
Imo, Milan had the easiest group in CL and got the easiest opponent in last 16.
And still, the record is rather poor for Milan standards. Couldn't beat Lille, couldn't beat Celtic in 180 mins. and managed to beat only AEK and Anderlecht so far.
In serie A and Coppa Italia there are many weak teams and few solid or top class clubs : Inter, Roma, Lazio, Fiorentina, Palermo.
Apart from the 1st round win against Lazio back in September, Milan has an awful record with these teams :
Inter 3:4 - 1:2
Roma 1:2- 2:2-1:3-1:1
Lazio 2:1-0:0
Fiorentina 2:2
Palermo 0:2-0:0
Only 1 win-5 draws-5 defeats
I think only Lille and Celtic can be concidered as solid as some of the teams from above, and if we add Milan's record with Celtic and Lille to the record from above , we'll get this :
1 win ( or 2 if we count the extra time win vs Celtic) - 8 draws ( or 7) - 6 defeats (13:21 goal difference)
Against the better teams Milan suffers a lot this year. Bayern can be concidered a good team and as good as the teams from above. If Milan couldn't beat a good team since last September's win against Lazio, and had 14 more matches to do so, then it's a bit of a gamble to put money on ther qualification.
To cut it, i gave 1.85 odds to Milan ( with 10 euro you'll get 18.5 E if Milan qualifies) and 2.00 to Bayern (10 euro -> 20 euro)
:)

Im just an amateur but that looks about right to me, as you said experience is crucial in the CL and Milan have bucketloads of it. The league situation has been very unorthodox for Milan this year with the points situation meaning they have been chasing since the start, thats meant the gameplan in a lot of games has been unnatural for Milan (for wont of a better word).
The CL campaign has been quite standard by comparison, always doing just enough to qualify, just enough to go through, im quite sure they can do it again vs Bayern, but not sure enough to put money on it :D
That said, i went for overs in Spurs - Reading today so what do i know! :dielaugh:

Well if our CL season will be over in 18 days, does that not imply that we will somehow be eliminated between the Bayern games and the semi-final?
Does UEFA have a special game scheduled for Milan?
:zany:
Yea.....I don't think he knows that the return leg with Bayern is on the 11th as we don't get 2 weeks in the quarter-finals. It's ok, maybe UEFA will kick us out after 18 days even though we would have beaten Bayern by then.
I had a dream we could only draw 1-1 in the Bayern Arena and i wasn't very happy about the outcome ... so i guess we lost the tie :nervous:
I hate dreams like that.

18 days or whatever, this is likely the last turn for this year and Ancelotti can pack his bags, if Berlusca has one braincell left. If we somehow manage to pass this turn it's going to be bad very bad, so let's do a 1-1 and 0-0 and go out in silence instead of being ridiculised once more for a change.

I believe he will be ... on the official site, before the Roma game, Carlo said that Ambro had muscular fatigue - too many games at once after his injury problems, I guess - but will play vs Bayern ... or something of the kind.
Janku, Maldini and Serginho (probably on the bench) should also be fit for Bayern

The squad for the match:
Dida, Kalac, Storari.
Bonera, Cafu, Favalli, Kaladze, Jankulovski, Maldini, Nesta, Oddo, Simic.
Ambrosini, Brocchi, Gattuso, Gourcuff, Kakà, Pirlo, Seedorf.
Gilardino, Inzaghi.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport are we going to play with a 4-4-1-1 formation with Gilardino as the lone striker.

9 defenders and only 2 strikers, we'll be aiming for a 0 - 0 draw then? And to think of the flare that Milan teams of the past were associated with. I think we'll struggle against Bayern, but remain hopeful. If we are to go out, I'd prefer us to go out fighting and trying to play a bit of football. C'mon Carlo, think outside of the box for a change, Bayern should be thinking about how to combat us rather than us just defensively playing into their hands.

well, it's not like Carlo had a choice - the only other strikers we have are Ronaldo (cup-tied), RO (seems to have suffered an injury vs Roma as he trained apart from the main group), and Borrielo (was taken off the CL player list after his doping problems to make space for Storari and Oddo).
Plus, in this game, the most important thing would be to not concede an away goal. This will be a close tie, in all likelyhood, and results like last years 4-1 or whatever would be very very unlikely for any of the two teams ... so not conceding away goals would be twice as important.

Thanks Capo, for the info in ur post....based on this, I think my line up would be:
************Dida************
Marek****Nesta***Bonera***Oddo
***********Pirlo*************
****Gourcuff***Rino***Max*****
************Kaka************
***********Gila**************
Carlo though, will probably play:
***********Dida*************
Marek***Nesta***Maldini***Oddo
Rino****Pirlo****Seedorf****Max
************Kaka***********
************Gila************
That is, if the formation from Gazetta is to be believed.
I am quite nervous about this game, but think we can progress, again, by eliminating mistakes, both in defense, and in attack....
We should be able to score if we minimise on errors up front, and in defense, if we avoid poor clearances, mark properly, and play as a unit.
100% concentration is what we will need, but I am sure we will rise to the occasion.

Yes, he did say that. But he also said that "it depends on how you interpret the formation".
He has said that plenty of times and then fielded Kakà and one single striker. Ancelotti sees Kakà as a striker.

The thing with the Inter game is that he'd played against Celtic in midweek and it's clear he just doesn't have 2 games in 3/4 days in him anymore. In one off games like this, i'm still confident in his abilities. However, playing both Nesta & Maldini together when neither are fully match fit would be a bit of a worry for me. Bonera should start alongside one of them.

the problem with Maldini is not just that he doesn't have 2 games in him in the space of 3 days but that, even if his stamina was fine, his knee would not allow him to play so often ... that's exactly what Prof Marteens advised him not to do.
In the inter game he wasn't just tired but also playing with pain in his knee and was sidelined for 2-3 weeks after that game, so I wouldn't necessarily use that game as a measure of Maldini's quality at the moment.
Hello ragazzi! I havent been here for a while, nice to "see" you all again....
So today is the day... My Milan shirt is ready, studying is off for today, weather is nice.....now its all up to Carlo's boys!
As Zlatanov said, Inter game is not a measure of how Maldini is fit. He has been working with 100% pace for 11 days now and says he is ready for 90 min of 100% football. We need him for todays game as when we go forward he can transform to LB and control the game more than Bonera can from behind. (when the pressure is on of course..). Bonera will play against Empoli. So, its Nesta-Maldini today, nice to see that again :)
About the rest of the squad noone really knows what Carlo will do, but I hope he doesnt play Seedorf as that would destroy our midfield against Bayern players that can run as hell. Its Gourcuff or Ambro for me. Or even Pirlo-Gattuso-Ambro-Gourcuff-KAka'-Gilardino, like in the Celtic away game....
Bayern has strong fullbacks in Lahm and Sagnol and Oddo and Marek will have to perform super, not like against Inter for example.... Dont think we will win easily, Bayern is really strong at this moment, and I hope we have some luck with crosses and corners and maybe score that way, it would be nice....
I'll be back to say how angry I am with the final lineup :)
----------------------------------------------------------------
And for the people form the Balkan, the game is on HRT 2!
welcome back mrki
Zlat i never used the Inter game as a reference to Maldini's quality. I said in my post that his performance suffered due to the celtic game beforehand, combine that with his knee problem and it would have been a miracle if he had performed as normal.

seems like oliveira won't be playing any part tomorrow.
I hope ancelotti will play gourcuff at some point of time
It can be seen that Pirlo plays better with Gourcuff than Seedorf as Gourcuff plays wider simply becouse he can run more. Pirlos long passes than have more space and he himself has more space to play creative football. Also, Kaka' combines better with Gourcuff than Seedorf. So lets play this boy with Gattuso-Pirlo-Kaka' alongside him!
It is better to play with Seedorf against this physically strong bayern. Seedorf also has a lot more experience and that's very important in this sort of games.
The most important thing is to not let bayern score. If they don't score then we also will not need to score. A 0-0 is a perfect result to go to Munchen, but off course it can always be better. Hopefully Kaka' let us see his magic again.
forza milan!!

While 0-0 is a good result, as this is a result that would favour us going to Munich, I would still like us to have one or two unanswered goals in our favour.

GOLLLLL! Nice looping header by, of all people, Pirlo! I think it may not have been a penalty as the defender just touched the ball.

Bayern defense lose possession, Janku shot wide from a tight angle.
Janku shoots out, the heading of Pirlo it was just great, you should find it in a replay.

LET'S NOT GET TOO CONFIDENT BOYZ.
Milan has to come out at the second-half and PLAY EVEN BETTER than the first half...because now Bayern is pumped, angry and hungry for that revenge goal and away goal advantage. Let's keep hustling like we did in the first half! Forza!
Beautiful goal by Pirlo. :diablo:

Am I the only one who's in disbelief from Pirlo's header :D .... it was more like an attempt to save the ball from going out in goal-kick than an intentional shot at goal but ... it went in :D :D :D
Unbelievable miss by Gila :sweeteye: ... he and Kaka are a bit lonely up front but at least we are controlling the midfield and manage creating goal chances.
Kudos to Oddo for the two perfect crosses - Gila's miss and Pirlo's goal - he's been quite active on the right side with Lahm not having much chances so far.
Good game by Janku too. Central Defense has been very, very good.
Seedorf has been good in controlling the ball and midfeild but has been also a bit slow in developing the attacks ... would love to see Sergio next to Kaka but he isn't even on the bench :(.
Ambro is having a great game in the middle of the park, I think. Excellent in the air and containing Bayern attacks well :5ok:
btw, I don't think it was a PK on Kaka - Lucio did get the ball ... it was a very subtle touch - needed 2 replays to see it - but he did take the ball out in corner kick. ;)
Overall, good first half, let's hope for an even better 2nd one. :devf:
I wonder if we can disguise Ronaldo in a Gilardino suit (you know, like what they do in mission impossible :D )......all he has to do is miss a couple of open goals and nobody will recognise him...then we can use him to increase the score :grinser:

We are just determined, not so good but we bite!!. The whole team.
Let's hope we build on decent first half ...
Bayern look scared ... just flooding midfield etc ... perhaps they hope to turn it around in the 2nd leg ...
We must score at least another, and not concede any!
COME ON MILAN
Losertool scored again :o
Gila scored, the referee gave him a card and he will not play in Munich.
referee is an a s s !!! nullified a CLEAR GOAL from Gila and gave him yellow !
Gila gets a yellow card!!!
Yellow for Gila. Lobbed goalie ... was offside says ref. Caution for playing on. Will miss second leg.
Kaka just missed a chance. Good cross from Janku.
WE CAN DO IT !!!

Kaka missed a great chance
Kaka didn't touch the ball to score, an amazing chanse, we keep walking....

kaka missed an equally easier chance after a cross from Ambro ... so, who will be first to bash him now?
Drucurl, maybe ;)
Milan is controlling the game very nicely ... it would be a shame if we don't get a comfortable win today.
We appear to have come out for 2nd very fired up.
THAT'S THE SPIRIT!
Come on Milan.
No outstanding players for me so far. All are putting in the effort, except for Dida who hasn't had to do much ...

offside or not??
Before the game Bayern was complaining about the referee, the result is obvious.
Can't believe we haven't scored again. Bad luck for Gila, worth appealing against a YC?

could you please show some fairness to Gila ... how could he hear the whistle when the crowd was roaring like carzy ... plus, it was NOT an offside to begin with ;)

Before the game Bayern was complaining about the referee, the result is obvious.
if that was the case, the ref could have easily disallowed Pirlo's goal ... there have been some tough calls to make but this offside call on Gila is the first mistake the ref has made today ... it was a very dif call, though

I believe it was NOT an offside ... but it was a tough call - Gila and the defender were exactly on a line and were going in opposite directions ... it was dif to say even from a replay

Zlat, Nesta is execellent isn't he?
he's been IMMENSE in CD so far.
Just got home..Pirlo scored a sweet header! Let's hope we can keep a clean sheet while adding one or two more to the board
Kaka finally firing up now
COME ON
Nesta's been pretty solid
I guess if I had to pick a player who's kinda disappointing, it's Oddo
Brocchi warming up ... surely Carlito doesn't want to play for a 1-0
Mind you, we do seem to be kind of hectic when defending so maybe shoring midfield up might not be that bad an idea
Our fans sing like sthg "Milan oe!, oa!" does anyone know which is this song?.

Hey,
I am joining in, and started to watch both games on-line.
Saw Gila's YC. Is it 0-0 with Bayern?
BTW, Liverpool alomost scored with a lobe from 45-50 yards out.
Opps, just scored the 3rd. 3-0.

Paolo just about stumbled and fumbled the ball back to Dida with Makaay chasing in ...
Oddo shoots from the corner, out.
