Btw any1 know if Schumi is actually Gay??? I keep feeling that when i see him!! Gosh, anyways would love it if someone can update me on whats happening this season in F1??

ShilpA!

Schumi has two children and his wife's name is Corrinna!! I find it hard to imagine him being gay!! :D

THE FIA made quite a few changes to rules this year coz last year the world championship was almost done by this time due to the DOMINANCE of ONE Michael Schumacher!

The Championship is tight this season as team Ferrari didnot have the best of starts giving the opportunity to young Finn Kimi Raikkonen to run away with the points!! I think that Raikkonen has a podium finish in every race that he has finished this year and that is pretty darn good!!

The new F2003 GA is undefeated and looks set to be as good as the record break F2002 which was an awesome piece of machinery!!! Actually Ferrari doesn't manufacture cars. They make art ... it's poetry in motion. Ferraris are a work of art!!

Kimi leads Schumi by a narrow lead that can be overhauled next race if Schumi gets 3 more points that the Finn.

The pts allocation has been changed as well with two pts separating the top two and now 8 drivers get pts instead of 6.

Basically the FIA made these changes to make the championship more interesting coz they know that now Scumacher has the best car and with his talent winning races and championships is a formality!!! They don't want to lose big bucks like they did last year!!! :D :D :greed: :greed: :p :p

one last thing ... the Formula 1 record book might be named the Michael Schumacher record book as Schumi holds most of the big prominent records in that book!!!  ;)

Guys you should take a look at this. For McLaren fans, I'm looking forward to hear from you about this issue.

The latest MP4-18 McLaren Mercedes (http://www.channelnewsasia.com/stories/sportsnews/view/40262/1/.html)

It will be tough opponents for Ferrari indeed. ;)

Knock..knock...F1....

The latest issue, Can Ferrari get back to their top form in following GP??As you know, Williams-BMW are already pushing Ferrari's spot either both driver or constructors standing...something makes you open your eyes which the more watch it closely, the more GP would be interesting. :)

Gonna be tough! Let's see!!! Can't discount Raikkonen who has taken his foot off the gas a bit!!! He's out of the limelight for a while now!

Renaults are getting better it seems!!

I'm hoping that Schumi takes the prancing horse past the chequered flag in style!! Certainly going to be a thrilling finale this season! :)

Rubens was awesome and that overtaking move was cooolllaaaa!!! WOW!!

What the hell was that lunatic doing on the track!! Lucky somebody didn't crush his bones coz that is what he was asking for!!! He wasn't even protesting for anything!!

Schumi had a great comeback from 14th ... that was good!!!

Trulli a bit unlucky to not get a podium spot coz he was driving a pretty good race!!! Kimi faltered under pressure but he will get better with experience!!

It was the Rubens show so full credit to him on driving a fantastic race!!

Rex

Haroon..Rubinho did fantastic yesterday. If overtaking is one and only the best of all, that I would have said it was overtaking manouvre of the year (overtaking he did to Ralf or Kimi). My hat off for him for securing Ferrari's spot in constructors' stakes with 118 points leading to Williams' 108 and McLaren Mercedes' 95.

It was a fantanstic race indeed. Many overtaking did yesterday. Thank God Schumi could still finish the race. He extended his lead with 69 points to Kimi' 62 and Juan Pablo Montoya' 55 in drivers table. :)

Hockenheim is one of my favourite circuits along side Monza which is my absolute favourite!!!

Tires play a big part in this one as the length of the circuit is pretty long. Mc Laren have an edge going into this one!!! Schumi must clinch a home win to maintain the lead. It is getting agonizingly close now:nasty:

Rex

Who use the right strategy, will win the race. Anyway I saw headlines today Hockenheim is hot, with temperature high in upper 20s (Celcius). This certainly affect to tyre compound, as it belonged to Williams in Friday qualifying review.

Brigdstone will 'battle' two Michelin, which this weekend will be facilitating the champion 'path' for the one who win the race.

Just bring our victory, Ferrari!!

Saturday's Qualifying is over and it'll be an all Williams front for tomorrow's German Grand Prix with Juan Pablo Montoya in pole position. Think JPM should have a very good chance of winning after finish 2nd in his last 3 races.

Hell!!!!  It was so near to be a good race and then everything goes wrong with that punctured tire!!!!  It turned out to be an awful weekend with Schumi coming in 7th and Milan losing concentration for 30 secs!!! :groan:

That disastrous start which took out the three front runners made it easy for Schumi to grab that second spot ... I thought he would somehow get past those ever improving Renaults. He did get past them ... getting close to the super fast Montoya would be impossible considering his lap times!!!

Welll even the pit strategy went well for everything to go wrong .... I thought maybe a 5th pos will do but by the time he got to the pit lane and got out it was 7th. Now Montoya and Raikkonen are very close!! Retirements will be horrendous!!!

Williams will hold a slight advantage but Schumi will do well at the Hungaroring IMO. If the car doesn't let him down he will win the Championship this season. But next season I have big doubts!!!

It is heading toward an exciting end. Ferrari needs to work hard for three weeks to make sure they secure both the titles!!

Schumi has amazing control on his car ... he rarely ever features in an accident coz his control is incredible. He is the best driver in the history of the sport!!

Brawn come up with something good man coz this is tight ... way too tight .... Ecclestone's major overhauls to prevent Schumi from making it one way traffic yet again have worked well!!! :groan: :nasty:

Prancing Horse all the way!!! That's for you Shazani ;) If it's a sports car it has to be FERRARI or bust! -> my opinion

P.S In the old super lengthy Hockenheim circuit Schumi wouldnot have even got 7th coz the tire would have gone totally by the time he would reach the pit!!! Something is better than nothing!!

talk about being lucky..

Raikkonen had a great start!

Unfortunately he got rammed by Barichello..

And finally!

Its about time Schumi got un-lucky!

He ALWAYS has things going his way..

ha ha ha ha ... Shazani!! ;)

Raikkonen was always risking himself with that start in the melee! ;) Ralf was the one leading the pack so it was his right to hold his line! Raikkonen being so close was always at risk plus Rubens could hardly do anything as Ralf blocked him!

All three need to learn a thing or two from the World Champion.

I remember the last time Schumi was unlucky!! 1995 ... Spa, Belgium .... last third of the race to go and the Benetton Renault stuck in 5th gear!! He won that race! ;)

P.S If Schumi has things going his way then this season would be over by now just like last year. Ecclestone lost millions of $$$$$$ last year coz the championship ended so early so he made a few adjustments that would bring teams closer to FERRARI.

Nothing's wrong with Schumi and Ferrari. But something wrong indeed with Bridgestone. Schumi got problem with puncture which they happen occasionally in his driver career. I have no idea what caused the puncture even Bridgestone should have done hard work to re-manage tyre compound for final four races of the season.

Losing Rubinho at start certainly been reducing poin 'extra' for consturctors standing, but Ferrari still no losing hope for regrouping in following races.

Here Rubinho's interview about the accident.

Hockenheim, 3rd August - 'I am very disappointed. I had nowhere to go at the moment of the accident. I had an average start. I think both Ralf and Kimi took big risks, especially Kimi who went very wide to get past. Ralf moved to the left and gave me nowhere to go. I braked and then I was hit while not making any changes of direction with the steering wheel. A real shame, as today I could have had a good race and a great result.' Ferrari.com

I don't think Schumi or Ferrari will win both titles this year. Constructor's will go to Williams and Driver's will probably go to Juan Pablo "Kamikaze" Montoya, who has been in excellent form.

Montoya & Raikkonen for McLaren in 2004. Now that's what I call a dream team. :D Bye bye DC!
Go McLaren!

It's really cliffhanger moments for final four races of the season either Ferrari, Williams or could be McLaren. Montoya could be expecting in order to win the champion's driver as Williams performs lately were significant than the rivals. Ferrari certainly does re-managing their tyre compound, Bridgestone if they still believe the final four races would be in hand.

One thing for sure, Schumi is not the man who could easily surrender offhand. ;)

yaps. the tire really sucks for ferrari big time. but, it's kinda hot seeing the comments from william's team about theeir team order, that they will do anything to win montoya, while they against is last year when ferrari are doing it. anyway, this time, it's more tense than last year... to make everyone's happy.. ;)

Williams will be using team order??And you should know FIA Regulations this season has already stated that team order is NOT allowed for any under circumstances?(I could be wrong?! ) So what's all about??A kind of conspiracy?

Nice time to stomp on us!! ;) I guess you guys deserve it after three years in the wilderness of Ferrari DOMINATION :D It ain't over till the fat lady sings!! ;) Bridgestone is gonna leave F-1 after this pathetic season by them!!! Time and again their tyre compound is hurting Ferrari's qualification campaign and therefore the race as well!!!

Bridgestone has worked against Schumi twice now!! In Jerez ('97) when Villeneuve clinched the title in his Williams Renault running on Bridgestones. Ferrari had Goodyear. And now Bridgestone is doing the honours themselves!! They need to get it together!!

Monza is my favourite track ... typically fast ... typically Italian

Ferrari won't make way for Williams and McLaren to clinch the title just like that! It's a fight till the very last race and the eventual winner will take it by a whisker!

Get ready for a sea of red in the fastest GP on the FIA calendar! :nasty:

What?? No new posts on this thread on a race day??

Ok, here's my very very brief recap on Saturday's Qualification for the Italian GP.

Michael Schumi finally grabbed pole position (and for that matter barely too) for "I've lost count of the number of" months. And after the tyre disputes raised by the eternal whiners Ferrari, Montoya still managed to finished 2nd on the grip on the new Michelin tyres despite being FASTER than Schumi in both Sector 1 and Sector 2.

Less than 5 hours to race day...... and it's getting really exciting!!!

My prediction: Schumi will blow his lead from P1, Montoya will overtake him by lap 35, win the race and will finish ahead of Schumi in the drivers standing for good after Monza.

Vrrrrooooooooommmmmmmmm.............

ilgenio...you had wrong prediction. :D Even if you watched the race Montoya had tried to pass Schumi's leading position...well he couldn't do it...Both Ferrari has done so well on the track. So wasn't it Ferrari's party, right?:tong: ;)

Kudos to Schumi, who drove a flawless race yesterday. Enjoy the Ferrari victory while it lasts! :D :D :D And quit bitching about the tyres and the attempt to revoke all past results if Ferrari and Schumi ends up with nothing this year. :tong:

I guessed Montoya had the tifosi's hearts in their mouths when he tried and nearly succeeded in overtaking Schumi in Lap 1 at the second chicane (an inexperienced driver would have lost position to JPM). And from Lap 16 to 32, Montoya was lapping at a faster pace than Schumi and cut the leap to less than a second, before a 2nd pitstop and slow traffic hindered his progress.

Well, at least there's still Indy and Suzuka...

Forza Montoya!
Go McLaren..... well ok... Go Williams (At least for 2003) ;)

Ilgenio buddy ... :D I feel for ya and all the fans who had their hearts broken in Monza!! ;)

1 hr 14 mins ... record time!!! Fantastic track, fantastic car and fantastic driver! 50 race wins with the Prancing Horse! 69 race wins in all

There isn't an F-1 record book ... it's the Michael Schumacher record book ;)

Super fast race and truly satisfying. One of the best ever races. No need to blame Montoya slowing down coz of traffic and all ... he just realized the hard reality that the Scarlet Scuderria Ferrari was in a class of its own!

I'm so happy!! :)

Indianapolis will be tough but not out of reach I am sure coz Michelin showed how the absence of their expanding tyre deeply affected their performance. They will have a tough time now.

Suzuka and Schumi have good memories so I am not that worried about Japan and if it rains then ... :D :tong:

A very satisfying race indeed! :)

Milan has 6. I want Schumi to get 6 this year to make 2003 a truly fantastic and historic year!

no offense to any F1 fans as I WAS a huge F1 fan but I'd like to offer a very loud F-U to Bernie Ecclestone and his F1 management for removing my CITY off the F1 schedule...after having the largest per capita attendance in the F1 circuit last season and being voted the best organized event twice in the last 3 years that scumbag decided to pull out the race without warning all in the name of his greedy pocket.:greed: :greed: :greed:
apparently this is a warning to all the European nations who have passed the same law Canada did banning tobacco adverstisements. our law comes into effect in 2004 and the European in a few years. The greedy scumbag wanted to make an example of us by showing he will pull out any race anywhere and even said he will move them all out of Europe if he has to.
Shame on you Ecclestone for succumbing to the wrath of the tobacco companies to whom you are certainly their b*tch. While Companies such as pharmaceuticals and banks are more than willing to provide funding the greedy b*stard has refused all in the name of getting more teens addicted to a product sold for the sole purpose of addiction and detioriation. Burn in hell with your money!!

Time is getting closer. The hunting for driver's title is being target by Schumi, JPM, and Raikkonen. This two final races of the season will be heat powerful till the end. Certainly I'd go for Schumi for taking victory at Indy and the last one, Suzuka. The Monza's win surely would boost all Ferrari's morale to make it come through for two final races. The bottom line is the driver should NOT make any mistakes during the races..I had no idea if this happen to Schumi..

Bridgestone..I count on you..

So I'm with Haroon. Lets make 6th...;)

Finally!!! A McLaren on pole on race day!!! Wooooooo......
Kimi Raikkonen took pole position at Indy after finishing 9th ( ) on Friday's qualifying. I still think he's out of the running for the Driver's championship but at least he qualifies in front of Schumi and Montoya. Montoya qualifies 4th and Schumi, a disappointing 7th.

It'll be interesting to see how Montoya attempts to gain position after the 1st corner as he has both Rubinho and Olivier Panis  both in front of him. I think both Williams and McLaren will do well today, with NO (:D) Ferrari on the podium. McLaren got probably no chance in both Driver's and Constructor's titles, but it'll be very very satisfying for me if they can finish ahead of Ferrari in the Constructors' standings (a very slight possibility).

My bold podium prediction for Indy:
1. Montoya
2. Raikkonen
3. Coulthard!!!

Sheva7_Evo...Just watch the Suzuka's race. I think Schumi wouldn't let him only taking 1 point to make sure he will grab the title. It's not Schumi's type. As you recalls, he will keep on fighting till the end, obviously being number 1 at Suzuka and world champion driver's title... ;)

It'll be quite sometime since the next race at Melbourne, so I guess this thread will be pretty quiet till then...

Anyway, enjoy this piece of news from F1Racing.net: :D

After being dropped by the BAR Honda team, Jacques Villeneuve is apparently looking to the McLaren Mercedes team for a test drive in 2004.

1997 F1 Champion Villeneuve was ditched by BAR prior to the Japanese Grand Prix in favour of Takuma Sato. With no highly competitive racing drives available for the 2004 season, the Canadian looked resigned to a year on the sidelines.

However it has emerged that he has been in touch with McLaren, although no agreement has been reached.

"We have been approached by Jacques Villeneuve with regards to testing for the team in 2004," a McLaren spokeswoman told F1Racing.net. "However, no meaningful discussions have taken place."

McLaren currently has Austrian Alexander Wurz on their books as their third driver, although he has been linked with a possible racing return with Jaguar next season

No problem... but expect most of them to be related to McLaren :D :D with the odd Williams report (mostly on Montoya ;)) once in a while. I guess the Ferrari fans will probably update on some lastest news or gossips too, though there is a high possibility that I would have heard them too. :tong:

Lastest news from the McLaren Quarters:

McLaren look set to be the first team to unveil their 2004 Formula One car next month.

The team will run it's all new MP4-19 at the Valencia circuit in Spain on November 25th - just after the winter testing ban ends.

The MP4-19 is set to be a development of the MP4-18 which never raced in 2003.

Most teams look set to unveil their new cars around mid-January. McLaren hope that by releasing theirs earlier it will allow time to iron out reliability problems - such as those which prevented the MP4-18 racing this season.

(From F1Racing.net)

And another:

McLaren To Unleash 2004 Challenger Next Month
30/10/03

McLaren will become the first car to test their new car for 2004 in November.

The MP4-19 will run at Valencia on November 25, according to Autosport magazine. The team will be hoping that it fares rather better than its much-hyped MP4-18A which, in one of the more embarrassing and costly episodes in McLaren’s history, never made it off the test track.

Naturally, though, McLaren insist that their work on the MP4-18 wasn’t all in vain as it is has been used as the basis of their 2004 challenger.

According to boss Ron Dennis, "When you see it, you will see that the MP4-18 is its mother."

Then again, most of us never saw the MP4-18 so we’ll just have to take his word for it.

For instance, jp brother Frederico who is expected to be a new brilliant of Formula-1.
I reckon that JP or Fredie will newer enter McL.
In one article at www.formula1.com was mentioned that JP after 2004 seson is leavin W and has an opportunity to enter any of f1 teams ( Ferrari is especially interested in him;) ).

The worst kept secret in Formula 1 is now official!!! Great news for McLaren fans~~~ Juan Pablo Montoya joins McLaren for 2005! Wooooo........ My favourite driver joining my favourite team!!! :rock3:

Montoya also becomes the next great driver from South America to join McLaren, after the legendary Aryton Senna!!!

Damn..... How I can't wait for 2005 ;)
I dare make a bold prediction that McLaren will sweep the Constructor's as well as Driver's title for 2005! Wooooo.....

Bye Bye DC~~~~~ :D

---------Article from F1Racing.Net------------

This morning the McLaren Mercedes team ended months of speculation with the announcment that Colombian driver Juan Pablo Montoya will join the team for the 2005 Formula One season.

McLaren will confirm the full 2005 driver line-up at a later date but the team’s 2004 Championship challenge will be lead by David Coulthard and Kimi Raikkonen.

It is expected that Raikkonen (on a long term contract with McLaren) will stay and that Coulthard will be on his way elsewhere.

“We want to win races and World Championships, and in order to do so we have to plan for the future whilst applying every effort in the short term,” said McLaren boss Ron Dennis

“The opportunity to sign a talent like Juan Pablo was too good to miss, and there is already a considerable amount of anticipation within our team about 2005," he added.

"We are certainly looking forward to seeing what Juan Pablo can do in one of our cars and I believe that it’s a prospect that can’t fail to excite Formula One fans around the world," he continued. "However until that happens we will be focusing all efforts on our 2004 Championship challenge.”

28-year-old Montoya broke into Formula One in 2001 with the BMW WilliamsF1 team but in the past two seasons rumours have done the rounds that he was unhappy of the pay dispairity between himself and team mate Ralf Schumacher.

In his time at Williams Montoya has claimed three Grand Prix victories, eleven pole positions, and finished third in this year's world championship/

“I am thrilled to be joining McLaren Mercedes,” said the Colombian. “The team is consistently a strong World Championship contender and has a fantastic heritage. It’s a great opportunity for me and I’m really looking forward to the first time I will be able to drive one of their cars. To join them is an amazing challenge and experience which I plan to fully enjoy. However, my short term aim is to concentrate 100 percent on winning the 2004 World Championship.”

Well if the news is true, I can guarantee DC will be *kicked out* from the team and surely JPM and Kimi duo in their eyes will have given significant prospect in a way...It's interesting to wait the next progress news where DC to go, and it's probably the mid-table team would still interesting in him or he could be a test driver... :D

Rae..Nando would be fine in Ferrari...seeing his talent as a *New Schumi* in my eyes, he can be the most dominant figure on the track in near future..:D ;)

New hairpin for 2004 Spanish Grand Prix

Next year’s Spanish Grand Prix could see even more overtaking thanks to a new hairpin bend due to be introduced at Barcelona's Circuit de Catalunya.

The approach to the existing La Caixa corner, currently a second-gear left hander, is to be shortened and the bend itself made tighter, in order to encourage late braking and passing.

The new corner will be followed by a 100-metre straight and a left kink leading into the existing Banc Sabadell right-hander. The space left between the old La Caixa and the new hairpin will be made into a high-grip asphalt run-off area.

The changes to the circuit are due to be completed by the middle of January. In other alterations, a large stretch of the main straight will be resurfaced and the outside walls at the Repsol and Seat turns will be moved back.

The 2004 Spanish Grand Prix is scheduled to take place in Barcelona on May 9.

Haroon in reply to your Villeneuve or Coulthard. I agree..firstly, Villeneuve is a hometown boy for us yet people are almost fed up of hearing him whine all the time. So am I. Schumi's talent in F1 is on a different level than everyone else's I agree. I think Villeneuve is more of a leader, risk taker and all around daring F1 driver than Coulthard. At times Coulthard seems made to be a number 2 driver. However, for Schumi's sake it is probably better to have Coulthard because of Villeneuve's uncompromising mentality and total refusal to be a second driver. Coulthard would probably HELP Schumi and be a better 2nd driver while Villeneuve would probably lead to seeing a much more charged, motivated and intense Schumi. I would pick Jacques too even though he is a trouble maker at times.

I personally think that Trulli would be Schumi's perfect 2nd driver.

I think Rubens is a super partner. I liked Irvine as well! He was good as well. Rubens is doing the smart thing and hence having a fruitful career as well.

Trulli is a good option but the thing is Schumi won't race for more than 2 seasons so it will be Rubens and then Ferrari will need a new number 1 for them. The Spanish kid has talent. Forgot his name! Alonso was it?

I'm really busy these days and yet my addiction to the forums causes me to come here again and again ... :) I better stop now if I know what's good for me! Keep the movie thread alive billy ... I will post when I can breathe properly again ;)

'partners' hardly to come to play in F1... i mean as in helping each other out. it's too much of an individual sport to be a team one
e.g does constructors count for much compared to the championship?
it's not championship deciding who your partner is.. unless he's an bafoon of a driver who knocks you off the road or won't let you pass for points
Schumi will win with whoever he is partnered with, i'd like to see Webber (go the aussies!) but Ruben's is great and doing the job well! Forza Ferrari!

Come no Man....Irvine was like Schumi's bodyguard out there on the track. It depends how they are utilized plus Ferrari has gotten much heat for letting Rubens take a step "down" to let Michael pass. I think that with some teams that insist on having two TOP drivers it will actually HARM them but for some it can seal a championship or a victory at least. That is one of the reasons Villeneuve has no ride next season. He insists on playing "first fiddle."

The main problem for Villenueve I think is when he was on fire, B.A.R screwed up (even this season had been *improving* a bit)and when teams got into depths development, he was far away of *attention*...

The situation and its condition never made them tight-knit...

To say goodbye to B.A.R I think is the best solution for him. Just thinking of joining NASCAR or another autoracing's competition or he could take a rest for temporary time this season and return to F1 in 2005 these will be best option for him. McLaren already announced officially that JPM will be Kimi's teammates, and Villeneuve had a great memory/time when driving Williams-Renault at that time he took the driver's title in 1997. Any chance to return to Williams??Many speculations will grow, time will show...

I remember what happen to Villenueve is somewhat similar to Alain Prost in 1992. Prost couldn't get competitive seat in the final of season and not performed in his final race of 1991..he took a rest and returned with fresh approach which he was finally grabbing the driver's title with Williams-Renault in 1993.

He could imitate what Prost did it at that time.

Rex:
Good comparison and analogy but to be honest I also blame Villeneuve for his problems.
Living in Montreal and this being "Villeneuve-land" we were bombarded with him during the glory days of his first two years. Sure things were great..he was GOING to be great. Etc. Then he opted for the money...didn't use his own head and listened to his manager and ended up in a new team. Then something very annoying began to occur. Whereas beforehand when he won it was Driver...driver ...driver. Since he began to lose it was CAR CAR CAR. I understand that a driver is only so good if his car is not competitive. However, BAR actually had a very high budget on the car...one of the highest after Ferrari. it was almost comical to hear him came up with new excuses week in and week out about the car. He was paid second to Schumi for all these years. He sacrificed a better car for a truckload of money. His attitude is also disheartnening as he constantly whines, moans and yells out anti-Ferrari statements.
I don't doubt he is a gifted driver and may still have something left for the future but he needs to tone it down a notch and realize that he has very little "owed" to him in terms of respect...that must be earned.

The crash tragedy between Schumi and him in Jerez, 1997 could be caused him to start whining anti-Ferrari statements. I had no idea whether it's been personal resentment to Schumi personally or Scuderia Ferrari....

it will be interseting 2 c how well Sauber perform this year. With 2004! Ferrari engines and transmissions and a driver line-up consisting of Fisichella! and Massa im predicting an exciting season for them. Perhaps Fisi can challenge with the top 8 conistantly. If they can produce a decent chassis ( thou the struggled last year ) and bridgestone get their act 2 gether it should garentee Sauber at least 5th in the championship.

I have been at Monza, Italian Grand Prix several times..the funny thing is we didn't pay the ticket..most part of people the night before just jump over the outer walls and outer gates and enter into the park..before u have to pass through the track (really) and u can see 40 eople hidden behind the Goodyear pneumatics on the outer side of the tracks, waiting that the control cars and policemen pass over..it's very exciting. When the cars which control the tracks (as they know many people enter freely by night) pass over with great light which enlighten the track, 40 persons start to run crazily..

It a huge run, because the track is very large and u won't notice that from tv..but until u reach the inner gates and wall u are in.

The night before is crazy..thousands people who makes fires and drinks and have a good time just inside the park, which is very great (the track has been built up in the Monza Park)..and the most part of people the morning after are stunned..

FORZA FERRARI..
Ps. i met Johnny Herbert after the Grand prix once, we walked with him for a while and i had the privilege to see very closely the Benetton after the Grand Prix, before the picked up it and take it back to boxes, although i couldn't jump inside

They were really doing good start (making no mistakes) which it displays their cars looks complete in all aspects. Combined from speedy of F2002 and reliability of F2003-GA, this F2004 were really impressive than I ever imagine..no wonder both drivers got fastest lap of their own (in race career actually) and certainly I gave my credit points on Renault's Fernando Alonso who can make his podium in the opening start of the season. ;)

Speaking of JV, in B.A.R Honda paddock the management is likely to 'forget' this driver but never forget to his contributions what he did in the past due to they finally found the prospect driver named Takuma Sato. So they focus on what they 'manage' this year.

Ferrari will win this race, not as easily as two weeks ago but with the new engine rule expect many of our competitors to fall by the wayside. The tyre situation for this race will close the gap considerably and Montoya will be the most likely challenger.

You never doubt the Ferrari's reliability. This is their unstoppable special weapon over the years, including the speed itself. All about F1 is all about aerodynamics. You couldn't leave that behind into your cars' development. And Ferrari displays have no problem with one engine per weekend's rule so far. :)

Don't forget the Renault's Fernando Alonso, he could be the biggest threat for Scuderia Ferrari this season..;)

i do not believe that alonso will be challenging for the championship this season. maybe next year. i just feel that the renault does not have enough straight line speed to compete with ferrari or williams. howeve i still feel he will definatley be in the top 4 this season because he is clearly an awesome driver

Renault are beginning to improve as I watched their displays at Albert Park. Got third podium in the beginning of season for 'mid-team' like Renault was such an overjoyed moment. Unpredictable which Williams with radical front-nose or twin keel's McLaren before the season started were being favoured to take Ferrari's title authority over the years. Still we are eagerly waiting of what's another 'formula' to be made by Williams and McLaren for not being 'embarrased' by team like Renault.

Their 2004 cars has quite no difference with the old one's which it has already enough to prove into public that they are equally within top three teams (Ferrari, Williams, and McLaren). So however let's never understimate the Renault, they can 'replace' the existence of team behind Ferrari namely Williams and McLaren. ;)

poor qual by Nando, fukin mistake, sh*t that sux, nevertheless he is able to compete for the place in first 8, cuz McL sucked as usual - they are not the real challengers for Renault especially Nando. Great success for Webba he has done a perfect lap, it's nice to see more teams competin wit W and McL. So Jaguar has gained it's aim to become strong team in quals, though. So have a nice race wit the end of Schumi&Ferrari trumph.

Regular as clockwork!

Michael Schumacher is edging closer to the ONLY record he does not hold.

The late great Ayrton Senna's record of Pole Positions has been cut down by two this season by The Greatest Driver in F-1 History. That is the final frontier for him. Every other considerable record in the F-1 book is gone and is owned by Schumacher!

Schumacher is also the only driver to finish every one of the races at Sepang!

Now on to Bahrain in two weeks time. New race, new venue and alien conditions! Will be hot and will be interesting but not smart to bet against the Prancing Horse and Greatest of the Greats!

Rex
23-03-2004, 08:46
Too right, Haroon. And F1 book record upcoming rounds will be added by Michael Schumacher himself. Everything about the records he certainly makes it on his own hand. Soon he may equal pole position's record which still handed by Senna with 65 poles. And Schumi are otherwise, he collects the top standing of career win than any drivers ever participated in F1.

Toast for 72nd career win. ;)

Here we comes at Sakhir, Bahrain. April 4, 2004.

The tremendous host of the year is beginning at Sakhir, Bahrain. Located in Middle East offers you 'oase' makes your sight admire the great view of the venue. The circuit offers drivers has chance of overtaking manoeuvre, combination with fast/low curves and long straight line. Push the accelerator and you see the cars from the air-the circuit is in the middle of commodious desert, unsual than any other F1 venues. ;) Money, hot weather will be interesting stuff of those who get involved, and security matters will be top priority as well certainly ensuring the safety and wellbeing of those attending the event. ;)

Excellent, f1 thread!

Webber was unbearably unlucky in the Malaysian grand prix. In my latest rant, I am not satisfied that Montoya and Ralf being partners. Montoya is a great driver, and Ralf, on the other hand, is not. In fact, in my opinion he is an arrogant prick. I like BMW, and seeing Montoya leave BMW next season saddens me. Ralf should just leave (which I think he is) and let Montoya stay and have another more reliable partner.

Renault is going to become the next big thing :)

Rex
03-04-2004, 10:20
Goirre, Senna was the best at that time..Schumi currently the best in this era. But if you recall the records he has been making in F1 history, he undoubtedly the best ever. ;)

sehn..let the big mouth move to McLaren, Ron Dennis already welcome him on their side. Anyway the rumour of signing Australian's Mark Webber to Williams is 50-50, so is DC, Jenson Button, or Fisichella.

The Ralf rumour would have moved to Toyota is far away to be true.

Oh..Speaking of qualifying result at Sakhr, Schumi got his pole once again, so he makes 58 pole so far. Followed by his team-mate, Rubinho, Williams duo, JPM and Ralf in 3rd and 4th positon. B.A.R Honda are still spreading the threat once again. :)

Button going there would be great if Montoya joins him (or rather him joins Montoya :D ) , but I doubt Fisico would too. He just signed for Sauber, won't there be a breach of contract or something?

Rex

Fisi's contract expires in 2004, it means in the end of season he will freely go to anywhere. But, he only wants to join Ferrari. Unfortunately he's less soldable to sponsorship, so is Button or Webber.

The Late Great Senna has my eternal respect but when somebody mentions him as the Greatest ever then it is due to more emotional and sentimental reasons than historical fact!

Alain Prost aka The Fast Son of a Biatch won more races and championships than Senna.

Name: Michael Schumacher

Country: Deutschland (Kerpen)

F-1 Debut: Belgian Grand Prix - 1991 (Jordan)

Team: Scuderia Ferrari Marlboro

Previous Teams: Jordan, Benetton

World Championships: 6 (World Record) : 1994, 1995, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003

Race Wins: 70 (World Record)

Career Points: 1038 (World Record)

Podium Places: 122 (World Record)

Poles: 55 - Senna has 65 Poles

---> Michael Schumacher became the youngest ever F-1 Champion at the age of 25 when he won his first driver’s title in ’94 with the Benetton Ford team.

---> Michael Schumacher has 70 wins. Alain Prost has 51 wins. Ayrton Senna has 41 wins. These are the top three drivers. The number of wins Schumacher has is unprecedented and it is almost a third more than Prost!!

---> Michael Schumacher is the ONLY driver to win two world championships each with two different teams. He won in ’94 and ’95 with the Benetton team and in 2000 and 2001 with the Ferrari team. No one has ever done that! World Record! Winning them consecutively adds more flavour to it!

---> Michael Schumacher is the ONLY driver to win at least 9 races in a season on FOUR different occasions i.e. in ’95, '00, '01 (9 wins each). He won an unprecedented 11 races in ONE SEASON alone in the record smashing 2002 season when the Championship was won at the halfway stage in Magny-Cours (French Grand Prix). He has done it 4 times. Nigel Mansell (England - Williams) is the only one to win 9 races in a season and that was in the '92 season.

---> By winning his 6th World Title today, Schumacher became only the second driver in history to win 4 CONSECUTIVE world championships after the Late Great JUAN MANUEL FANGIO who passed away in 1995. Fangio is the only other driver to win 4 on the trot!

---> Schumacher's Races/Wins ratio is 2.75 (193/70) compared to Prost 3.90 (199/51) and Senna 3.92 (161/41). Schumacher's race/win ratio was better than both at the stage when he had 162 races. Fangio's ratio is the one that may NEVER be matched coz it is mind boggling -> 2.12 (51/24)!!

---> Schumacher is the ONLY driver to get more than 100 points in ONE season and he has done it on THREE occasions in 2000. 2001 and 2002.

---> The Greatest Achievement In The History of F-1 Motor Racing --->>> The FIRST & ONLY driver to win 6 World Titles

Carlos you really shouldn't be defending Senna! :) He doesn't have the stats. Check this last one. Schumacher when he had 161 races had a better ratio than Senna ;)

Senna was charistmatic and great but when it is all said and done Michael is THE REAL DEAL!!

Keep in mind I am not including this season's stats. The one record that is in the way is the POLE POSITIONS and Schumacher has 3/3 this season! ;) He is concentrating on it the most.

Saying that Senna is the Greatest Ever is just like a Manchester United Fan claiming that they are the greatest football club ever! A lot of ifs and buts. Schumacher is not only the Greatest Ever but he is THE ONE by a MILE!! ;)

Lombardia,I tell you what. Senna was the best at that time. The time that regulations was made less tightly than this millenium era. Many factors distinquish it. Senna was likely genius of taking the curves, but Schumi is genius in speed, performing the cars even his car didn't *support* the circumstances to hang on..other he is also genius in giving the idea of Ferrari's development, what/how does cars supposed to be..frankly I have to say too many of genius Schumi' side to tell about here...

Haroon, you'd better up-to-date your Scumi' stats currently..

I added he makes 73rd career win, 58th pole position..;)

we could argue all year about who was better but i am too young too remeber that much of senna so i am going to gracefully bow out of the arguement.

anyway back to this current season; its allready over! schumey has a 18 point lead over montoya and with the next 4 tracks being ferrari ones i'm afraid only mechanical failure will be able to stop us. (not very likely though, its been nearly 3 years since we broke down).

also credit to BAR and jenson button, two succesive 3rd positions is mightly impressive.

Correct. Much given credit to B.A.R for amazing cars' research & development. Particularly when they did great off-season job for preparing this season. Mind you..Honda produced the finest engine in late 80s that their performs became *nightmare* for others compared to nowadays. B.A.R has changed the bad times they've been through-turns out to be good times at the moment.

If they finish in top six at the end of season, the management will be changing the contract clause and I'm pretty sure Jenson Button will be *locked* for not going anywhere...

Great work by BAR Honda and Renault!

Too bad for Raikonnen though... and Montoya, only 10 more laps to go and from 3rd to 13th

And you gotta feel sorry once in a while for Klien. The dude tried to beat other cars and in the end he still ended up in the dump.

All in all, though the track perhaps was not the best, the circuit was entertaining. It has width and strives for more competition. I enjoyed it very much.

The difference between Schumi and Senna is, that Senna always went to the best team, while Schumi turned mediocre teams into top teams.
Schumi is miles above Senna!

Senna raced with many tough competitors, ie: Alain Prost, Nigel Mansell, Gerhard Berger, Nelson Piquet, Ricardo Patrese etc. Otherwise, many teams that time had similar ability. None of them is dominant. Ferrari, Mc Laren, Williams, Benetton or even Tyrell were showing great performances in tight seasons.

I do pay respect to Schumy for his ability, but i do hate Ferrari. I really wondered why such a superstar like Schumy must crashed his car onto his rival's car, and badly, he did it twice. on Damon Hill's and Villenueve's car. What a shame!

Now, i must salute Ferrari because of their magnificent seasons recently. They have lots of money to make a solid team, build best cars and sign great drivers. They will still be the constructor winner this season. :)

Regarding Hill it was totally Hill's fault in Adelaide!!! He was the one who crashed his car into Schumi's Benetton Renault!

Schumacher on the other hand bumped into Villeneuve's Williams Renault in Jerez!!! Schumi had the championship in his hands but his second set of tyres (Goodyear) really let him down when he was leading the race. The Bridgestones for Williams gave them the championship!!! Tyres cost him the championship otherwise he would've won it!

Regarding Senna's argument that he raced better drivers!!! It's getting really old now!!! Berger, Patrese were plain ok!! Senna's only true rival was PROST!! Period.

Mansell was a good driver but he had one brilliant season and that's it.

Schumi's rivals have come and gone -> Hill -> Villeneuve -> Hakkinen -> Montoya + Raikkonen

He is still standing there. As Bayman said he is miles ahead of Senna!!

Senna gets the respect out of his charisma and tragic ending which was unfortunate! The critics used to always use the argument that Schumi might have more championships and more wins than Senna but he is the fastest of all time due to his POLES. That argument has died down and isn't brought up now because that record is under serious threat now!!

Schumacher is to Formula 1 what Babe Ruth is to Baseball, what Maradona/Pele are to football, what Jordan is to Basketball, what Gretzky is to Hockey and what Bradman is to cricket!!!

He is the symbol of the sport!

Correct. You already stolen my mind on this. ;)

argo, don't you remember Schumi won his both championship driver title in a row (94 and 95 season) while few competitiors were still exist as you said? That's already appropriate enough to describe this young Schumi-at that time-could took Senna era over in future. And his talented have had shown to public that he was on the way to great-superstar-great legend.

Don't hate or mistake Schumi or Ferrari, that will depend on other competitors' preparation of challenging the Scuderia. Could or couldn't they is the really question. ;)

All the facts you post about Senna - Schumi are correct. I hope my post didn't bother you or anything bad. That's just my opinion. :)

BTW, is Schumi to F1 equal to Juve to Serie-A? :D I mean Juve won the mosty scudetti than the others but noone ever said that Juve is the best team in Serie A. Ppl only said that Juve won the most trophies in domestic competition.
And more, Hill, Villeneuve and Hakkinen ain't the true rivals for Schumi. Schumi was absolutely out of their league.
The true rival for Schumi is Adrian Newey. He built great cars in Williams to give Hill and Villeneuve the world champion title. Then when Frank Williams kicked Hill out from his team, Newey were upset because he wants a british driver in his team. So he went to Mc Laren which has a british driver, DC. There he built great cars too and Hakkinen won the world champion twice. After that he lost his magical touch and evenmore Mercedes couldn't supply a reliable engine. And, Ferrari rules. Schumi won the titles, 4 in a row. Absolutely remarkable. I think his records will last forever.

I also have an opinion about F1 history. It's about the competition its self rather then the drivers or teams.

Since the 1st GP in the 1950 until the early 90's, F1 stage has many great teams and drivers. Just mention Fagio, Clark, Brabham, Fittipaldi, Lauda, Andretti, Rosberg, Prost and Senna etc. And the teams like Ferrari, Lotus, Brabham, Tyrell, Williams, Mc Laren etc.

They competed tightly and the teams built great and fast cars. They were managed to built faster and faster cars. I was wondering why FIA didn't go that way and always change the regulations to cut off the speed. They said it was due to the safety.

IMO the turning point of F1 history is when FIA banned the turbo-charger usage. We all know that turbo-charger is the easiest and cheapest way to boost the speed. Since it was illegal many teams couldn't built any competetive cars. We have lost Brabham, Tyrell and many more. Since then, technology rules. Only great team with huge finance could managed to built a fast and reliable car ie. Scuderia Ferrari, Mc Laren - Mercedes and Williams - BMW.
Ferrari has more budget than others, so they could build perfect cars in last several seasons. Mc Laren has many problems in MP4-18 which couldn't pass the crash test and MP4-19 in its reliability. Williams has less problems. It more to the drivers, particularly when Ralf and JPM crashed their cars onto each other's. Stupid mistake!. The BMW engine has a great power but the chassis just couldn't accomodate that power.

I think the threat for Ferrari in the future is HONDA. Once an F1 expert (i forgot his name) said, Honda will be the champion if they wanted to. Now they've got so many things in progress. If the time has come, they will sign a good driver to earn the world champion title.

That's it, Nuff said. :)

-peace-

PS: does anyone remember a silly mistake by Mansell in Canadian GP 1991. He miscounted the lap(s) remaining. LoL. :D

DC is Scottish. McLaren had ever created the fast engines but less reliability. For instance, when Mika won the title at that time. Fortunately, the *that impracticable* could give the *path* for Mika got his twice title. But you can NOT count on only the fast engines, you surely need the another crucial matter, the reliability and aerodynamics within its cars of search & development.

FIA does the right thing. Do you want another Senna tragedy repeated once again at nowadays?

I tumbs up for their development. But the expectation of chance of winning the title is still far away to go. The realistic thing is, if they finish at top five or six on final constructor's table, they already done the great season. And Jenson Button absolutely will extend his contract....

In all sports excluding football, scottish + irish + english + welsh athletes are fighting for one country, Great Britain. so we called them british. Haven't you ever noticed what flag is on DC's helmet or when he got to podium? Union Jack, not Scot's cross flag.
If JPM replaces DC next season, will Newey move to another team? if he does so then the team must be BAR. :)

It supposed to be Fangio. :D ;)

Thanks for the correction.

FIA does the right thing. Do you want another Senna tragedy repeated once again at nowadays?

So why they didn't make any regulations that more strict to car's safety or re-design the track? IMO cutting off the speed is almost impossible because technology development is much much faster nowadays, particularly for the major teams. Maybe FIA will decrease the engine capacity down to 1000 cc. Hahaha.. :D

Don't forget Toyota. Their investment also one of the biggest included.

Sure but Toyota needs more experiences.

Couldn't you explain us why does Williams-BMW *introduce* of developing the new radical front nose? :D

:D i can't stand why Patrick Head build a car with that ugly nose like that. It doesn't quite work yet. Maybe still need more improvement.
BTW what about the ugly nose of Ferrari 'The Enzo'? It's more like a forklift than a supercar. :D The engine is great but that nose.. OMG... :depress: Cann't they make another great supercar like F40 or F50? (reminds me of Don Johnson's F40 in 'Miami Vice')

sing when you are winning. enjoy it.
Schumi is still waiting for his sucessor, so he wouldn't retire soon.

- Yes, that is Trulli's girlfriend.

Ralf is an inconsistent both in qualifying and racing..afterall made unworthy hurry-up mistake for overtaking manoeuvre (flashback your memory a clash him with Sato in Bahrain GP)..that's bad record for him by the time he tried to convince Williams and Toyota that's his ability commensurable to US$18 millions per season's contract.

rae
18-05-2004, 05:58
yeah, but sato is famous for his driving style recall the last years Jap GP this and this year incident with Ralf was not only Ralf's fault, although he suffer more and even was punished harder   I didnot conceice that:confused:

FIA has warned Ralf. Steward considered Ralf was 'quilty' by the time he got crashed by Sato at 7th lap in Bahrain GP. At that time, Sato would had taken back his 4th position, but his 'racing-line' closed by Ralf..and that's what happened...'bum'...

18-05-2004, 09:13
yeah we know it's so hard to maintain a powerful car in a very-very high speed. Only the choosen one could do it perfectly.

at least that time Ralf did it better, crashed his car into Sato's, not his teammate, Montoya. :D

Next round, Monaco GP at Monte Carlo on May 23, 2004

Monaco GP has always been full of glamour over the years. The circuit; the yachts; the champagne; the famous people..the circuit itself is an extraordinary one, an exceptional side. From first curve at Sainte Devote till Casino Square , Grand Hotel hairpin, Tunnel , Tabac , Piscine La Rascasse ....all of them similar to knife point. Nonetheless the most dangerous curve is Armco . It is really hard to make overtaking manoeuvre here but who cares anyway? If you'd like to win at Monte Carlo, you polls position on Saturday qualifying is a must and you keep it up on Sunday race!

Schumi has made five straight wins-broke Williams' Nigel Mansell's record in the opening of 1992. Does he continue six straight wins or Jarno Trulli who shone at Catalunya will break his record?Don't forget to watch guys...;)

Forza Trulli!! Button never had a chance..!

Too bad for Schumy but apparently he hit the brakes in the tunnel and Montoya went to his side to avoid rear ending him. I don't know how true that is but it explains why Montoya suddendly tried to get beside Schumy.

Haroon

Montoya = over-zealous, over-anxious and he cannot control his car!!

Schumacher wouldn't have won the race but maybe he had a decent podium finish!!! There were lots of incidents today!!

I saw it on ITV here in England.

1. Martin Brundle while interviewing people on the starting grid was saying that there are loads of people who are unknown here and then while looking for Ecclestone he bumped into a chick and kissed her on both cheeks so quickly she didn't know what hit her!! :D She obliged but it was awesome to see! :D

2. Sato jump started by a mile!! :D And then he nudged Schumi :D

3. Ferrari crew man sleeping in the pit while the camera focused on him. Poor guy got slapped from behind by a team member who woke him up :D

4. Alonso showed the middle finger to Ralf through frustration!! :D

5. Alonso waited for one more lap to show his frustration at Ralf and that was classic as well :D

6. Post Race Trulli saying that he would've won even if Schumi was there as he had everything under control :D

7. Alonso post race laying all the blame on Ralf and saying that he always does this stuff!! Clearly pissed at him!! :D

Anyways it was a good classic race and I thoroughly enjoyed it!!!

donot say that, like Nando more than anyone in f1 (except Schumi) but I can justify Ralf's hehavior - he is in deep trouble with the new conract which was declined by W, he does not have the another offer so it is wery difficult for him fully concentrate during the race... I wish that the hour of his glory will come soon.
The accident between Schumi and jpm was another tricky part of race, Schumi as usual was examining other pilots by sudden brake pushdowns and then again accelarating ... so jpm was caught while he wasnot ready...
I recall such event in '00 ITA GP, SC was in the Curva Parabolica while Schumi suddnely pushed brakes, Button even get out of the track due to not hitting another car...it was only one instance of such behavoir of Schumi from many but this time it ended in wery bad conclusion

yesterday's race was mad. entertaining but mad.
Sato should of pulled of when smoke started coming from a car. that engone was threating to blow for a lap or two. Giancarlo Fisichella was lucky to walk away from that accident. :eekani: As for ralf schumacher, i'm not a fan of his but i think Alonso could of been a bit more patient and waited till he came out of the tunnel to overtake.

As for michael Schumacher:sob: i thought he was going to win again when he was leading behind the safety car but then the suspension broke. It was no fault on schumi's part and he is still a legend.:strong:

However well done to Trulli on a great drive and a deserved win. as long as button didn't win i was happy.

And finally Jordan got a few points on the board. Yes well done Nick Heidfield so glad Jordan finally had a decent grand Prix.  :grinser:

while he was leading behind SC it was wery tiny opportunity to win cuz Trulli and Button has already done the 2nd pit stop and Schumi hasnt.
If there were no icident between Ralf and Nando Schumi would have won the race by overtaking Nando and Trulli due to later pit stop

yes but Schumacher is a master tactition. and remember he had one second more of fuel in and had gone two laps further than trulli plus he would of conserved fuel behind the safety car so he would of put in his blindly quick fast laps before his pit stop.

i wonder had the damgage anything got to do with the shunt he had with Sato on the first lap. I know Sato hit the other side of the car but you'd never know.
so its not going to be a schumi whitewash after all.

You mean that He could make a 25 sec. gap among himself and Trulli before the pitstop?
I do not believe that. The only way to win for him afer Nando's crash was to overtake both Trulli and Button on the track not by pitstops....

i think there was back markers between them.Schumi would of had a clear track .Montoya was behind him and he was a lap down and i think a jaguar or minardi were between them too.

there is no excuse for ralf's behaviour. even if his act wasn't intentional - it's not the first time he's done things by taking credit from others' misfortunes. how many times have we seen him crashing into other cars? he's a bad driver, and other drivers have to pay for his silly "mistakes", or unethical driving. no wonder he can never live up to michael.

serves him right with alonso's middle finger to him.
