Milan midfielder Clarence Seedorf has defended his club against the Calciopoli accusations and spoken of his optimism for next season.

“On the pitch I never noticed any advantage or disadvantage from the referees,” the Dutchman stressed.

“It’s useless to talk about Calciopoli now. Everything could change, for now we can only hope.”

While Seedorf has committed his future to the Rossoneri, his midfield colleague Kaka is still pondering his next move.

“I spent two days on holiday with him and I can tell you that he’s thinking about what’s the best move for him,” revealed Seedorf.

“I do know however that the club has tried to keep its’ best players.”

One thing that is certain is that Milan will have to cope without Andriy Shevchenko next term.

Seedorf is well aware that the burden of replacing the Ukrainian star falls in part to him.

“It will be difficult to replace him,” the ex-Sampdoria man admitted. “We all need to lend a hand going forward given that we’ve lost a player who can guarantee 20 goals a season.”

Seedorf has been a Milan player since 2002 when he signed from city rivals Inter after a luckless spell with the Nerazzurri.

It is rumoured that Real Madrid are willing to offer around £50m for Kaka’s signature, Milan’s wait for the Brazilian’s decision continues.

MIlan Keen On Oddo Deal

Milan are once again trying to wrap up a deal for Lazio defender Massimo Oddo.

The Italy international seems likely to quit the capital following Lazio's relegation as punishment for their involvement in the match-fixing furore that has rocked Italian football.

Milan have been in dialogue with their Lazio counterparts for much of the summer, with regards setting up a deal, but as yet an accord has not been struck.

Due to start the campaign with a 15-point deficit, Milan are eager to start strongly and see Oddo as the ideal candidate to add solidity to an ageing back four.

However, an opening offer of €2.5 million (£1.7 million) has failed to impress Lazio president Claudio Lotito as he looks for closer to €5 million (£3.4 million).

well he is not that type of player to be the last option in milan or another club .. i saw him playing last season and in some games i was immpresed by him he got some good assists (from croses ) . and very good PK taker

Crespo: No Milan Talks

Chelsea striker Hernan Crespo has insisted he has not opened negotiations with Milan over his possible return to the Serie A giants.

The former Lazio star has continually reiterated his desire to return to Italy during the summer to be nearer his family and Milan have been one of the clubs strongly linked with the 31-year-old.

Crespo spent the 2004/05 season on loan at the San Siro and has been told by Chelsea chiefs that he may be allowed to leave should a suitable offer be tabled.

"I have heard that the club will only let me go if they receive a good proposal for my transfer," Crespo said.

"The only thing I have heard at the moment is that Milan are interested but there haven't been any kind of negotiations."

Simic Claims Everton Interest

Milan defender Dario Simic claims Everton have made an offer for his services during the close season.

The Croatia international, the most-capped player in his country's history, performed in the World Cup finals but was one of the players sent off by referee Graham Poll during the crunch clash with Australia.

Formerly with Dinamo Zagreb and Internazionale, the versatile stopper is under contract until May, 2009, but has been stunned by the punishments dished out to his club by the Italian footballing authorities for the scandal that has rocked the game.

"There are two interested clubs," he revealed to the Croatian press. "One of them is Everton.

"But everything is on stand-by, although I spoke to [Milan general sports director] Ariedo Brada about this interest."

Everton boss David Moyes attempted to sign the 30-year-old during the two transfer windows in 2005 and is a long-term admirer of the player.

The Rossoneri have been granted an entry route into the UEFA Champions League following an appeal against their suspension, and the lighter punishment could lead to the likes of Simic ultimately agreeing to remain in Milan.

The San Siro outfit now have an eight-point deduction for next season's Serie A instead of the 15-point penalty originally planned.

Ibra is being linked with a 15m pound move to Milan. Its on chan4 as well.

now milan... now that they have the cash (+- 50mil MINIMUM +sponsor etc...) should buy at least 3 players (1striker-1midfielder-1or 2 def)

To loose Zambrotta and Canna was terrible for them, but get rid of the old boar it's a plus for the Old Lady...

There's a whole gigantic ocean separating Emerson from Cannavaro in terms of quality: Emerson always were a goddamned AWFUL player, one of the most unbelivably overrated footballers of all time, totally deprived of any footballng skill; so once he was a 'young boar' and now he's an even worst 'boar', because he's too damn old and wasted for playing football with even a passing iota of eficience; on the other hand, Canna always were an excellent CB, and fortunatelly for Italy he keep playing with great flair, elegance and power, one of that TREMENDOUSLY RARE footballers that manage to maintain the same level of performance as time goes by...
