Have a little faith in Braida, Berlu and, however behind the scenes, Galli. They have not done bad by us in the past, no reason for them to completely lose their minds now. They know, better than we can hope to, our strengths, our frailities and our financial situation.

Swedish media: Why Zlatan choose Inter
Source: Aftonbladet
Inter wanted Zlatan at any price. To get him they payed Zlatans agent Mino Raiola 46 SEK (5m Euro) And although it´s normal that agents get money this amount is a large in this context. According to aftonbladet Mancini is crazy about Zlatan and when Toni said no, they wanted Zlatan at any price really also to avoid that Milan got him. Zlatan was to meet Milan officials on wednesday night after the CL game, to sign, but then it was already over. In the beginning of the week Zlatan met Inter but they couldnt find an agreement. On wednesday they paid what Zlatan wanted in salary (5m Euro/year)+ 5m Euro to Raiola and it was done. Milan thought that they had Zlatan but where cought with the pants down. Reason why Milan changed their mind was apparently that when Berlusconi could not get Ronaldinho he hit the breaks for any big cash deal. Also Berlusoni is not a big fan of Ibra apparently., he is not ready to pay big for anyone he doesn´t beleive in. Which makes sense really. Raiola made it happen as he is greedy and in the end it was the money that made the difference so all the rubbish about Ibra beeing a Inter fan as a child blablabla is just a smokescreen for what really happend. Thats what swedish media says anyway, I don´t know how reliable they are but to me it makes sense.. Forza Milan Last edited by ACMILAN1983; 11-08-2006 at 05:00. |

I'm glad Berlusconi was seeing sense not to pay so much for him.
Couldn't this just have been posted in the main Zlatan thread ?

I do think this Zlatan is a Inter fan came from when a they did a film about Zlatan and Malmö FF, they took a picture of Zlatans room and on the wall he had a poster of Ronaldo when he played for Inter. How much fan he really is now I don´t know but why should he have a poster of a Inter player if he didn't like the team? OK maybe he liked Ronaldo, no not in that way!

anyway, back then Ronaldo was all the hype in football, no one was bigger than him, so it's normal for a striker like Ibra who was still growing up - when Roni was at his best, Ibra must have been 15-16 yo - to idolize the best and most talked about striker in the world without any regard of what team he, Roni, was playing for. |

I must admit, I've been extremely disappointed with how this transfer saga has panned out. I genuinely thought that we would get Ibra and I genuinely thought that he would add an extra dimension to our team. But in the end, I think everything happened for the best. Judging from Ibra and his agents' comments and behaviour, it doesnt seem like they were really interested in playing for us, they were just going to sign with whichever team that paid Ibra the highest salary. So, good. Good for us that Ibra's true colors have come out before he signed for us. We need players who CHOOSE to play with us, not players willing to come by default--simply because their team is relegated and we happen to be the ones willing to pay the highest salary.
Good riddance. The circumstances surrounding this transfer has convinced me that from a personal (not footballing) point of view, this guy does not have the attributes to play for our club. Let the mercenary go to Inter, collect his pay check, fight with his teamates, and lose every year. This guy is not worthy of AC MIlan. |
