If its true that Alex can now qualify for Chelsea then its hard to see them not taking him over to the Bridge this summer. They are a centre back short and have the option on him, and he is quite naturally suited to the EPL. If they didnt intend on taking him back this summer then i think they would have let PSV sell him to a bigger club by now.

Of Samuca's list the 2 that really stand out to me are Chivu and Barzagli, they have the key ingredients of experience of Serie A, relative youth, obvious quality and big game temperament.

As you said, in your list of future Cb Alex is always there...in the near future, you will be 100% in Alex bandwagon

Although I like both defenders, IMO Carvalho is the best player. Said this, Carvalho is a redundancy for our defence. We have Nesta(and Kaladze) as this type of defender...and we really need a BIG guy to pair with Nesta.
IMO we are too weak in aerial game, and also needs a bruiser to play against big, physical fowards

Indead, you can't find any PSV fan who's not a big fan of Alex.
In all objectivity , Alex is by far the best defender i've seen playing for the last 10 years. And then i mean defending. Maybe there are defenders who have better passes across 40 metres, but when you look purely at defending, there's no better one.
